I signed up and within a week, 2 gentleman showed up. The one was clearly the technician and the other must be sales. A quick inspection was done and soon the technician was using words like "catastrophic" to describe my furnace. Granted my furnace is 20 years old but catastrophic is clearly a scare tactic. I think over the next few minutes, he used that word several more times. The two men were polite and friendly but the upsale was hard to ignore. Their initial recommendation was about $5500 for a basic furnace upgrade but before I could even process that, they moved on to the $18,000 combo package (before rebates). I am not saying that a new furnace and A/C wouldn't be nice to have but I wanted a second opinion. I scheduled an appointment with another HVAC technician that I have used many times in the past. This gentleman spent 2 hours going over my furnace (far more detailed than Royal T) and found only minor concerns that didn't require immediate attention. He pulled the burners and the fan cage, inspected the chamber with a remote camera and found nothing of concern, let alone anything *catastrophic ". Beware of the up-sale!

However, on the scheduled date, when the technicians arrived to assess the property to report back to Brad, I was met with confusion. On Saturday morning, Brad called to inform me that a gas line could not be installed in a specific area. I trusted his expertise and pointed out that I wasn't knowledgeable about these matters. However, he then claimed that I had requested an additional work to the quote, called "line height," which I had never hear of this and don't know what line height is technicians that came out. Suggested this. Never did agreed and didn't even understand. I took a week off work, flew into Utah on Thursday to meet with technicians to do it over. Look on the property. and was prepared to start the job on Monday, but everything fell apart. Brad was not only agitated but also dismissed my legitimate questions and wrongfully accused me of being aggressive when I sought clarification. I made it clear that if he couldn't honor the commitment made, I would find another provider. Despite his promise to call me Monday morning after meeting with his team, he failed to follow through. Frustrated, I reached out at noon and spoke to Ginger, requesting to speak with the owner, Shawn Keith Gillett. She assured me that a manager would call, yet no one returned my call. This level of service is completely unacceptable. I will not recommend Gillett Heating and Air to anyone, and I am determined to share my experience on social media to alert others about their lack of reliability and professionalism. On May 12, 2025, we had a new AC/furnace installed by Gillette Heating & Air for over $9,000 ($11,000 with financing). Since the install, we have experienced ongoing problems with the system freezing up and failing to work reliably. Multiple non-working parts. Multiple service visits were made, and each time we were told the issue was fixed, but the problems continued. We also noticed water leaking in the furnace room. Gillette told us it was condensation from the frozen pipe issue and said it was normal. The water kept increasing, spreading under flooring and into the walls. Concerned, we hired a licensed plumber, who determined it was the AC condensate drain line. He found the line had been left sitting on the floor behind our washer instead of being secured into the drain. This caused significant water damage to our laundry room, bathroom walls, family room flooring, and bathroom vanity. The plumber specifically stated this was due to improper installation of the AC condensate drain line. We have contacted Gillette multiple times. The service manager told us they would not cover the costs of the resulting damage. Despite repeated requests, the owner has not returned our calls. In our opinion, this has been a very poor experience -- both with the installation and with customer service afterward. We are now left with a damaged basement and an AC that still is not working properly.

We contacted him for timing and he told me the dates and time we would arrive, he showed up and got the job done on time without issue. I called and they said they may be able to make it that day..but would be better to reschedule again.
