Oof. I do not trust Any Hour Services…read more * Quoted $1600 to replace the furnace blower motor -- another company did it for $750. * Claimed heat exchanger had a hole (quoted $4700 to replace). Two diagnoses by other companies could find no hole, only corrosion. * Claimed heat exchanger wasn't under warranty. It was. Confirmed with the manufacturer. * Claimed the AC compressor motor insulation resistance was testing bad indicating near end of life for the compressor. Independent tests confirmed the Any Hour technician performed the procedure incorrectly, and that the insulation resistance was in good range. Additional details: The tech claimed there was a hole in the heat exchanger (found via camera scope) which could allow carbon monoxide leakage and he was legally required to disclose this. Used language like "he didn't want to scare us, but..." Two diagnoses from other certified technicians from other companies also with camera scopes found no hole. Just some corrosion. The technician claimed the heat exchanger would not be covered under warranty if replacing. I confirmed with the manufacturer that it was. The technician claimed the AC compressor was "testing weak" evidenced by "bad" insulation resistance readings, which might indicate a soon-to-fail compressor and the need for a new AC unit (potentially another $5000+). As evidence the technician sent a video showing holding the power button for about 3 seconds, then releasing just as the resistance builds to 60 megohms, the final level in the "caution" zone. The problem is the meter's manual calls for holding the power button for a full 10 seconds as the resistance builds while voltage is applied. Independent testing with the same model of meter and held for the full 10 seconds shows the resistance building to 400 megohms, well within the "good" range. (see attached videos, one of the technician's test, another with an independent test with the same model meter). If having Any Hour Services quote you anything, I HIGHLY recommend 1-2 independent quotes from smaller HVAC shops.

After cleaning the vents and dryer and full dryer troubleshooting, we contacted At Your Service Pros (kudos to the Costco-dispatched tech for noticing the extremely hot circuit breaker). At Your Service was very flexible on appointment times, and one of their techs, Kyle, came out to service the home. Kyle reproduced and diagnosed the issue to the circuit breaker. Not only did he fix the circuit breaker, but he also noticed some of the wiring needed to be placed at the service panel, which he did as well. He also checked the other breakers while he was out there and made sure the dryer outlet was okay. Lo and behold, the dryer works perfectly now. Thanks Kyle and At Your Service for getting this issue fixed and for taking a larger look at the panel to make sure things look okay. I appreciate Kyle was on time and that the service was professional and efficient.

It's based solely on the booking process. I was able to book an appointment on Sunday for Monday morning, but they called early Monday and said they couldn't make it until Tuesday. That caused me to miss out on other companies that had Monday availability and wasted valuable time on something we needed done as soon as possible. They need to get their scheduling system figured out.

I asked him about someone I could trust to check my furnace (as I had smelled gas) and my water heater. I would like to add that both furnace and water heater are from 1994, that's 28 years ago. While I feared the worst that Will would tell me I needed a new furnace and water heater he came over and spent a lot of time checking everything. He explained everything he was checking and found really nothing that was broken. He also found no gas leak with his meters. We talked about the age of the units but to my surprise and extreme happiness he basically said "if it aint broke, then don't fix it! I asked Will to replace my thermostat which was the old mercury kind and came with the 1994 unit and he brought a brand new digital thermostat. Setting it on the wall with extreme care and a wall mount all was good. I was so so impressed with his work ethic, his personality, his great job. About an hour later I felt like I was in a hot spa. It was suddenly 76 degrees in the house. I called him and we decided to reset but it got even worse and reached what looked like 78 degrees. I called him again. I knew he was fully booked but asked him to please please please come back and replace the obviously defective unit I had purchased from him. A couple hours later he was at my door with a brand new thermostat , set it up and its been PERFECT ever since. He did not charge me to come back, and his price for labor was super fair. It was so fair I felt he deserved a monetary tip and I was happy to do that. Of course he told me I didn't have to do that but seemed truly grateful. Based on my experience with Monarch Air and Will, I will never give a thought to ever using anyone else. This was a perfect experience ( except for frying for a couple hours) Thank you Will and Monarch Air

If you're looking for an incredibly valuable and relationship-oriented business, these guys are the pros, and you won't regret calling them.

I still had doubts on my upstairs unit which was struggling to get to its desired temperature. Then the downstairs unit outdoor fan stopped working. I went with Eagar for the diagnosis and they came by same day and diagnosed a common capacitor replacement issue. Replaced capacitor and downstairs unit started working as expected. Great! The technician was also willing to do a quick basic check on my upstairs unit and turns out it was low on refrigerant. 2 lbs and some UV dye/sealant later my upstairs system now can match the set temperature for a change, and I didn't have to break anywhere close to 4 or 5 digit pricing. The pricing seems fair to me. They don't offer those $30 tuneup prices but they also don't beeline to pressuring your into a new HVAC unit either or suggesting services which seem dubious and with exorbitant pricing. Makes it hard to trust. Instead Eagar charges a reasonably regular price but also gives your unit a fair, honest assessment, which ultimately is what I want, with units that are 18 and 12 years old! Chris recommend new, larger Amana units that would be much more energy efficient, saving us money, and helping to better heat and cool our home. So far they are working great! I've known Chris for several years now. This is the second time he's done a new installation for us. About five years ago he installed a new Tempstar furnace in our town house. We had a very old furnace at the time and the new Tempstar was a much needed upgrade. Chris also helped us qualify for the Utah Home Performance Plan, a state run program at the time, that saved us a lot of money on the new furnace. Chris is professional, dependable, and fairly priced. I appreciate that he takes the time to answer all of my many questions and educate me on different options and technology. Chris has also done work for many of my friends and neighbors. If you're looking for a great HVAC company for heating and air conditioning, I would definitely recommend Eagar Heating and Cooling. Thanks Chris!
