Once we closed and moved in we were contacted by Smart Tech's service tech JP. JP came to our house for the "white glove" move-in service, which consisted of explaining all of the options that Smart Tech offers to the homeowners in this community, and to our surprise, a free Ring front gate camera and keyless entry system from the garage into the house. JP was so professional, courteous and knowledgeable that we decided to go with Smart Tech to install/mount all of our TV's, install a web mesh system, and install all of our audio/video systems. This was a pretty big project that included mounting 6 TV's, 3 web mesh locations throughout the house and 2 Dolby surround systems, as well as a audio sound system on the back patio. JP and Steve, also from Smart Tech, took care of this entire project in one day. Their work was impeccable! TV's were mounted perfectly and they left the work areas spotless. Both JP and Steve were professional, courteous, very friendly and super helpful explaining all of the info involved with all of the installation. I read most of the reviews here on Smart Tech prior to hiring them and noticed that most of the reviews were for security systems. I really felt it was important to add this review because they did such an exceptional job on our audio/video systems. I would recommend Smart Tech to anyone looking for this type of project. He tried to help me over the phone and he would've done that but I told him it was better if he come by. Because we might need some more equipment and I wanted to get a little class from him to show me and my wife how to work our music system. He's very knowledgeable and had a solution right away! The first guy that installed the system was using the wrong wires and the receiver was heating up it could've caused a fire. Pat's suggestion is he's coming out Monday and he's going to bring a amp, take care of the overheating and create a real easy solution. By a Sonos system so both me and my wife can control the music on our phones. It's very hard to find somebody that doesn't worry about money as much as taking care of your problems. Affordable prices and he sat down with me for a while to make sure I got what he was saying he's Just a great guy. I highly recommend him, I'm an electrical contractor and I need an audio video low-voltage guy. He is gonna be my connection for people that need those services.     I really didn't want to give them a poor rating, but I felt like they left me no choice…read more This review is based on their customer service. I needed someone to go out to a rental property to change a system battery. We no longer live in the desert and our tenant does not have a contract with any company for monitoring. I contacted Comtron to get a quote. I clearly explained the situation to the girl who answered the phone. She asked for the property address to look it up in their system. I told her we do not have service with them. She gave me the quote of $55 for the service call and $50 for the battery. I told her I would call her back after I spoke with my husband. I called back less than an hour later. The girl I spoke to (not the same as the first call) said she would set up a walk through to get a quote. Huh? I explained that I already got a quote and was just calling back to schedule the service. She said I was misquoted and they do not do service calls for non customers. I asked to speak with the manager....Jenny got on the phone, I explained the problem to her. She agreed that I was misquoted. She also stated she has a "couple of new girls in the office". She apologised for the mix up. When I told her I was going to give them a poor review she asked me not to and if I could get her the name of the system she would see what she could do. I phoned her back about 30 minutes later (just about 5:00pm). The girl who answered the phone just answered by saying "hello"...I asked if this was Comtron and she said it was. (odd!) When I asked for Jenny she said she had already left for the day. No problem. I left my contact information and explained that Jenny was expecting my call and ask that she call me when she got in the following day. That was two days ago. I just now received a call for Jenny. She didn't quite remember me and asked when I wanted them to come out to set up service. Nope. I reminded her of who I was and why I had called and left my information. Her response: "oh! you're THAT Lisa, I don't know why they put you on my calendar to call you". Really? I told her I had called her back just like she asked me to. I explained that when I hadn't heard back from her yesterday I just contacted a different company. She seemed very confused. My impression is they totally lack any sort of customer service and are completely disorganized. Good luck if you choose Comtron.
