CONSUMERS BEWARE!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! Looking for a home security system? Stay 1000 miles away from Vivint. I have been a Vivint customer for six years. Their customer service is the worst I have ever had. They are really good at taking your money and not doing their jobs. I moved from a house I sold and into a new home. They charged me $361 to remove the equipment and reinstall in the new house. No big deal I suppose, everything cost money right? The day they were supposed to remove the equipment, they called and cancelled the appointment due to weather. It was sunny. Days later they finally removed it. Appointment was scheduled a week later to install in new home. at 8am the morning of the install they called and cancelled due to the technician being out of CAT5 cable. How does a company the size of Vivint run out of CAT5 cable? Isn't that the most important piece of the puzzle? The last I checked, you can run to Home Depot or Lowe's and pick up a spool CAT5 cable. After this appointment was canceled, no phone call to reschedule. Four days later I contacted Vivint to ask why no other appointment was scheduled. After talking to 12 people I finally got another appointment scheduled. That appointment was for another week later on a Saturday. At 8 AM that Saturday I received a call to cancel the appointment again. No appointment rescheduled once again. After a few days, I contacted them again, got the runaround once again and scheduled another appointment for yesterday. While scheduling this appointment, I spoke to a supervisor. The worker that transferred me to the supervisor told me his name was Dave, when he answered the phone he stated his name was Chris. When I asked him if his name was Chris or Dave, he informed me that he is called Chris and Dave, seems a little strange to me. He told me that because of the troubles I have been having they would be paying for the next three months of my service. I wouldn't owe a bill until October. Yesterday morning, when the technician was supposed to arrive once again at 8 AM I received a call from Vivint informing me the appointment would have to be rescheduled. This time, the appointment was being rescheduled because the technicians certification had expired in the state of Florida and he needed to be re-certified. This seemed a little odd to me being as I'm sure he's not the only technician in the state of Florida, shouldn't they have known his certification was expired? Are they really even certified? I didn't realize this was a thing. I requested to speak to a supervisor again. He stated he would have a supervisor call me back when he arrived. I guess Vivint lets their phone employees work without supervisors around... After not receiving a phone call from a supervisor, I reached out to Vivint, spoke with someone that I could actually understand, and they could understand me, and didn't talk over me. I told her what my issue was. She gave me the name and phone number to the Regional Director for Vivint in my area. I reached out to this person. Obviously they had no idea why I was calling. He would not speak to me on the phone. Everything was done through text. He told me he was in Virginia Beach, vacation maybe, I don't know he never said. After a few back and forth text messages, communication stopped. If he was in Virginia Beach on vacation, couldn't he have told me that and gave me someone else's phone number to contact them about my issues? But that didn't happen, he just stopped texting me. I reached back out this morning to him and as par for the course, just as every other employee with Vivint this Regional Director told me this morning through that he sent the scheduling department an email to contact me this morning to reschedule my appointment. Now, I don't think I need to put in this review that I trust these people as far as I could throw my freaking house. I have no expectation of these people calling me this morning to reschedule, if they do call me to reschedule, I have no belief that they will actually show up for the appointment. Keep in mind all the while, they have already charged me the money to remove the equipment from the old house and install in the new house. While this may not seem like such a big deal to the people reading it but in everyday life when you are working and taking care of a family and having to take off to be here for appointments that are scheduled and then they don't show up and then they reschedule and then they don't show up again and then they reschedule and they don't show up again. This is a big problem for people like me. Avoid this company and all their shenanigans at all cost. If I do not hear from a supervisor this morning to reschedule my install appointment, I will be tossing $6000 worth of Vivint equipment in the trash can and taking my home security needs to another company. Thanks for the read, hope this helps someone in the future. Nothing is worth this much of a headache. read more
