Eric and the other two crew members (sorry, I don't remember their names) arrived early and hung plastic to keep the dust from getting all over my house. They tipped out the old stairs and screwed in the base stairs to endure no squeaks. The stain was a perfect match. The treads and risers were high quality hardwood. They had the stairs installed and painting and everything g completed by 5pm or so including clean up. Superb job. They even repaired damage from the previous attempt. Just do pleased. read more

Don't let your floor guy do your stairs! I had my floor guy attempt my stairs and it just wasn't right (not up to code and also just not quality work) - stair conversions (we went from carpet grade treads to hardwood and the floor guy just slapped new treads onto the existing ones) don't work. You need an experienced stair contractor. Jose and his team were professionals and true craftsmen. It was really incredible to watch them work over the two days they tore out my old stair and put in this beauty. They really know their trade. Jose has a full book of baluster and newell post options as well as stain colors. I couldn't be happier with the job they did. Would highly recommend them. read more

Jose Vivanco was prompt in giving an estimate. After that, the quality went downhill. He doesn't do or supervise any work himself, but seems to subcontract everything. As a result, he can't guarantee timeliness or quality. Instead of 2-3 days, the work dragged out over 10 days, and the end-result was unsatisfactory despite repeated requests for correction. The work was to remove carpeting on stairs and in a hallway and replace with hardwood. Despite clear instructions, and reconfirmation, the workers removed the bottom, custom-built, curved stair, and had to spend a lot of time to rebuild it. The stairs ended up creaking and had to be adjusted in each case. The workers ran out of wood, which they found was of poor quality, for the hallway. These workers were the most noisy and annoying - talking at the tops of their voices and whistling loudly the whole day. After our complaint, Jose Vivanco got different workers to finish the floor. There were holes in the edges and he never sent his workers to refinish the floor when we asked him. We would not recommend this company. Victor is a good worker, careful and polite - maybe the only one who can be trusted. The end-product is not what you expect. read more

I decided I wanted new stair railing in my home. Was prepared to spend several thousands of dollars. It was easy to get an appt as the owner came over within a few days. He looks at the stairs and says no, you don't need a whole new system, just replace the balusters, it'll be too much money. We went back and forth as I had my heart set but then I said fine. Just changing the balusters would actually match my custom ceiling fans. I asked about start timeframe and he said a couple of weeks...fantastic, let's do it! He said great, I'll get an estimate to you right away. Then nothing. I waited a couple of days then sent a text and called next day. He said he would send. Had to text again then I received. He said we couldn't do stainless steel but could this other material. I said I wanted to see the material cause didn't want a painted rod. He said he would drop off an example, That was last 6 days ago. If you're too busy or don't want the job, simply state that rather than ghosting. And honestly I'm not sure why he would as I was prepared to go all in for a full system and he talked me into spending less. On the bright side, it's best I know how unreliable a vendor is before I plunk down more than a couple of grand. read more

I feel like Etta James and want to sing "At last...". I moved into my house in 2013 and had a pony wall because at that time I didn't want to pay for railing I would hate. I knew I always wanted horizontal railing. For years I would periodically get quotes and it seemed they only did horizontal railing for commercial projects. The others would seem to not know what I'm talking about at all. But I searched again and happened to find a picture of a home they did with the horizontal railing. I called and the rest is history. They gave a good rate, they were knowledgeable and very VERY clean! Jose was very communicative and his team were all well mannered and professionals. Once the railing was complete I was beyond impressed. I only wish I had more things for them to do. It's hard to find a professional trustworthy contractor whose work is also outstanding. read more

Prompt quote and contracting.. horrible delivery. Scheduled for the work to be done 3.5 weeks out and he didn't follow-up the week/few days prior, only to find out all the parts weren't in. One week later, still had to reach out for for confirmation on delivery. Work began rather prematurely as workers are going back and forth to workshop or store for parts. We were careful to pick the right stain/color only for them to do half-fast staining on the spot that were mismatched left and right. Workers took smoke breaks every 30 mins... took 2 days to somewhat complete a 1 day job (as quoted). They left edges of wood rough and snagged.. owner came back to replace a base board that was broken, and then left me the caulk and paint job to complete myself.. in my opinion, you break it, you replace it as it was. Don't deposit until work begins, but proceed at your own risk. I feel I could have paid the same for better elsewhere. read more
