Desserts weren't a big hit either we tried their cheesecake (our server said it's different but it's very different) and the Nutella mouse. All in all we had a nice time here the view is absolutely amazing!

The ambiance of the place is great, comfy set up, indoor and out. The service was a bit slow and It did take us 2.5 hours to have our meal. Our friend ordered the Mexican poutine which I thought wouldn't be that exciting but I was wrong! The fries were seasoned with spices, there was a large quantity of food (she didn't even finish it) it was loaded with toppings! My wife ordered the 7 layer burrito, we went to a Mexican place in Maine and assumed the burrito would come with toppings like cheese lettuce and sour cream on top of the burrito. We thought that because the title on the menu is "7 layer burrito or Naked burrito" toppings or none. Nope not the case. Its actually in a wrap or in a bowl. We might be the only people who were confused but now you know. It was huge and my wife couldn't finish it. I ordered the tacos! Had too! Put them together yourself and the added hot sauce at every table was fantastic! Something you should know though, when you pick your protein, ground beef is literally just ground beef. Not seasoned with taco seasoning! It could have used some salt or something. It comes out in 3 trays. One is sizzling peppers, onions, your protein choice (go with chorizo) and topped with cheese. Next tray is warm tortillas (flour or corn) along with fresh tortilla chips, guac and some very weird sauce that tasted exactly like coleslaw dressing. Definitely not quaso. That was very disappointing. Not sure what to do with that stuff as it also came with my wife's burrito. Salsa would do just fine but that dressing was a terrible let down. Next small tray was sour cream, your choice of mild, medium, and hot salsa. Pro tip, medium had no kick at all, and on the end was Pico De Gallo which seemed to be fairly fresh! All was excellent except the tortillas chip dip. Swap that for Pico De Gallo or salsa or even better, quaso and it's a home run! Very filling, very healthy, loved it!

Quesadilla - tasty filling and again big portion. They have decent hot sauces for the table but you can ask for their homemade hot sauce. Overall a good experience.

Fries were amazing as well. I had the Brisket in a Basket which was new to me and very delicious. The second time we went, my hubby had the same (if it's not broken don't fix it, he says) and I ventured out of the box and had the Pickle Pizza. Oh my word! It was like a flavour explosion on my palette! I will definitely be ordering that one again! Spicy Barbecue sauce, mozzarella and cheddar cheese, red onions, pickles drizzled with dill aioli. To die for!! Courtney was our server and she was amazing! We met the owner Suzette. Loved hearing her story on how the bistro came to be. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. I have back issues and the chairs were soooo comfortable that I had no trouble sitting as long as we did. The place was packed so i suggest making a reservation before going. Can't wait to return and try something else off of the menu!!

Our server was quick to take our drink order and soon after brought them to the table. A maple old fashioned for the Mrs. and a Dog House IPA from Petawawa. Both were perfect to start our evening. We ordered our starters; a Caesar salad for myself and the Soup du Jour (a homemade tomato soup for the Mrs.) She really enjoyed the soup. It was hot and creamy and very flavourful. The Caesar was fine to me. I like a more punchy dressing, more garlic, anchovy. But I do know I am in the minority here, I like it to really rock you. And most people probably wouldn't enjoy that. So, you may really enjoy theirs. It had lots of bacon bits, great croutons and cheese. Our mains were Pork Roulade for the Mrs. and Branzino en Papillote for myself. Only issue with the Roulade for my wife was she could only finish half of the dish. It is a big serving. And the Branzino is a very filling dish as well. The Branzino was cooked perfectly and was buttery and light. Inside there is a soppressetta salami and thin sliced tomato and emmental cheese. I think the tomato was unripe, it was crunchy, and even though I absolutely love a soppressetta sandwich, I found it too overpowering for the fish. It does sing in there though. On the side is a very large serving of roasted vegetables. They were very tasty, and very hot. The first bite took me by surprise! And that was a very good thing. Caution, let them cool for a minute. The restaurant is a very nice place to have a great evening. And we will certainly be returning to try more of their great menu. And we are curious to see the upstairs next time. We had a great time, delicious meals and drinks and our wait staff was very friendly and did a wonderful job.

We don't like to leave our little poodle at home, he has separation anxiety; we were disappointed to discover that customers w dogs are relegated to picnic tables on the road/lake side. Before, the chairs on the patio were comfortable/good quality outdoor furniture, but I guess these have been moved to a new, second patio which is dog free but still outside. I brought the cushion my dog sits on in the floor and outdoors, so I sat on it on the hard bench picnic table, ha ha. The shrimp appetizer reflected its frozen journey. The predecessor restaurant always has super seafood. The Thai Mussels were small but a really phenomenal sauce (different from the red curry I've had, it was tomato based and delicious, we sucked it down quickly). Husband's burger was bland and disappointing: I talked him into a side salad instead of fries; the salad used iceberg lettuce and was also disappointing. This was our 29th anniversary dinner so he was quite disappointed and says he will not return to this resto. My Lobster roll was really lovely (should be for $34) but very slow coming and missing the grilled corn on the menu. Service was friendly. One of the owners dropped by to chat when we first arrived Drink list is good...while we were waiting and waiting for our burger and roll I ordered a third glass of wine; together w his two beers and the four dishes, our total bill was $195 w tax and tip. A bit much for two disappointing dishes at a picnic table. This is not fine dining in my view, but Summerkiss is a hard act to follow. We are heading to Lands8fifty in Harcourt for my birthday dinner this week; it also represents itself as offering fine dining and I really hope it follows through
