box of pizza on a picnic table
    Kirsten F.

Food is ok. The worst part is the service. If you have a dog, you can not use the patio (we were sent across the street to a picnic table). If you want a patio where you can have a dog, go to Bancroft. They don't serve at the table, you must go to the counter to order and get your food (yet they still ask for a tip when paying on the debit/credit machine ha). The guy behind the counter was super unpleasant and didn't even tell us when the food was ready at the counter, he just let it sit there. Only reason I would go back is if there was no other options in the area (which seems to be the case - they know this and it's probably why they can get away with being unfriendly).

Lovely (licensed) patio with a view of the Madawaska River. Food was great! Definitely worth the stop if you're in the area.

    Odi’s Kingburger - King Cheeseburger

I would give 3.5 stars, but rounding up…read more Odi's Kingburger Drive-In is off Highway 60 in Renfrew and has been around since 1973. I had been wanting to try Kingburger for years, but every time we were in the area, we were always just passing by and had to get to where we were going on a specific schedule. This past weekend we had some time and stopped on the way home. My husband and I each got a King Cheeseburger and split a large poutine. The King Burger has two beef patties, triple bun, Kingburger sauce, and fried onions. The cheeseburger just adds cheese. The patties were real, homemade beef patties. They weren't too thick or dense and were juicy. The cheese was real cheese slices and not Kraft singles. The fried onions were good, not too many and not overwhelming. The Kingburger sauce seemed mostly like a mix of ketchup and mustard and there was far too much for me - I would've liked to taste the beef more because it was really great! I was also hoping to give more burger to our little kiddo without the sauce or just minimal. The buns were nothing special, but were fresh, soft, and helped soak up the sauce. In fairness, I like light sauce, whereas my husband likes everything super saucy and he really enjoyed it. All in all, it's definitely a good burger and I might try the Super Burger next time, which also comes with back bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and subs fried onions for raw. The poutine, unfortunately, did not the have cheese curds I was craving, but the gravy was very tasty and the fries were so perfectly crispy. As a big cheese lover, dare I say that I might just order fries and gravy next time. The portion was pretty big, too. Super affordable, weekday specials, and fast and friendly service. Love a small, local, family-owned restaurant that's been around for ages. There's a patio to the side and parking, but no indoor seating and truly a drive-thru with a drive-in theatre restaurant vibe. I'll need to try one of their many milkshakes next time. They also have a "cruise night" with classic cars, which would be awesome to check out.

The burgers are amazing, milkshakes are a tad filling though. Got a kids small cotton candy milkshake, didn't finish it. Although I put the milkshake in my freezer and had cotton candy ice cream. It slaps. Service is pretty awesome. Every time I see odi himself he's always smiling. The now sign is pretty nice and they actually show the cup sizes now and nice awards, ambiance nice. Menu prices were a bit on the high side especially since posted prices did not include taxes! We ordered 3 regular burgers (no cheese or bacon), a large poutine, large fries and 3 drinks and our tab was close to $50! I had to veto the ice cream dessert! The burgers definitely tasted home made - a bit on the drier side but they were generous with the toppings so that made up for it. There's a nice outdoor seating area to eat in. Staff are very friendly and offered things like extra napkins and paper plates to divide up our meal. They let us use the indoor bathroom for our little guy instead of the dark and scary outhouse! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area for a meal you don't have to cook yourself!

It was lunchtime and the restaurant was completely empty except for a couple with kids sitting in the outside patio. Maybe that should have been our first clue. The guy serving us seemed pretty cool until my husband told a joke that he did not understand turning his service sour from that moment on - perhaps he was just having a bad day, who knows, but certainly no need for despotism. Good service or bad service doesn't make a difference to us if the food is good and it wasn't so we will never return.

The atmosphere was fine and the young man serving us was very nice and helpful. We got a little bowl of seasoned tater tots to snack on while we waited. They were tasty with the dip. When our burgers came.. they came on small plates and first impressions was.. is that it? It was super small and not even close to a big dirty burger I was looking for. The flavour was lacking in both the meat and the toppings. We also got a poutine to share. The portion was good but the fries were small cut, I like my fries thick cut. The gravy was ok. Overall my experience was ok, but I don't think I'll go back. It was not what I was expecting out of "The Dirty Burger"
