I got a medium deep dish with light pep and fresh garlic.. holy sh!t let me tell you... the bread is so fresh and delicious and the pizza isn't soggy, it's ACTUALLY crisp and tasty. The cheese quality is 5 star, and sauce is worth the price alone. My god the sauce... the sauce needs its own separate 5 star rating. Also, the place was really clean and the staff were super friendly. I believe you can tell a lot about a pizza place by the cheese pizza they serve. Yup.. FIVE STAR BABY.!!! Positives: This is the best deep dish pizza you will EVER eat. My husband brought me here (we live in Goodyear but drove) he used to eat here when he was growing up. I can't say enough positives about this food. Two slices of this pizza and you are stuffed. The salad is unbelievable. It has both green and black olives with pepperoni. We couldn't get enough of this salad! The cannelloni dessert was Sooo good. The staff was very kind and we loved being there. It is clean and cozy inside. Negatives: I can't lie, this location is a bit run down. The area is not where we normally would go.. But it is worth it. Don't let the area fool you. It's a real gem on the inside. This used to be my go-to pizza place back when I lived west side. Though on occasion we get pizza from there on our way to Surprise to visit by bff and its still just as awesome as I remember it. Seriously, this is not pizza for the faint of heart. Super thick, inverted topping pizza that's so tasty and so filling we dubbed it "gut bomb" since one slice will pretty much do you. A friend has been coming here for years and recommended them. So I decided to order for a small group of friends that got together. We ordered 2 large 16" pizzas and 20 pc wings utilizing the ordering app (grubhub???) that is linked to this establishment. The food was ready for pick up within the timeline they quoted. The food was hot and looked good after getting it home. They definitely don't cut back on ingredients and the wings were flavorful. (this alone would have been a solid 3-4 star rating) They do offer crushed chilis & grated parm in 1 oz cups they pack themselves; however, when I asked for some I was given only one set and when I asked for more, the lady begrudgingly gave me another set and looked at the ticket/order. (this took away from their 3 star down 1 star for me, I'm a customer service focused reviewer). Personally, I believe this is the cost of doing this type of business and it's not like I was asking for tons...I had order 2 large (16") pizzas. While it was convenient to order & pay, Buyer Beware the pricing is significantly higher than the internet menu pricing link by $16.00+. (While this didn't take away another star, just know this fact) You are better off contacting the establishment directly and paying when you get there or ordering on site. I still would recommend one to give them a try, because you won't go away hungry, just don't order through the app and have your own supply of crushed chilis and parm. read more

My Yelp search for "deep dish pizza" kept yielding this place as a result, so I felt obligated to try it. I did so twice, to have both thin crust and deep dish pizzas. The thin crust, for lack of an original term, is nothing to write home about. The cheese was alright, but that was about it. It was tasty, but nothing that would impress me. The deep dish pizza was a bit more satisfying. The crust itself was pretty flavorful, and the toppings rich. I'm no deep dish pizza expert, but from what I've had, the cheese is usually piled on. There wasn't so much on this pie. Too bad, that would have made it shine a bit more. I'm not a fan of all that sauce slathered on. It's very salty, and even though it's admittedly tasty I found it harder to stomach after one slice. And trust me, I have a big stomach. I see a few options here and there like sandwiches, but I guess that's to be expected from a restaurant like this. The place is very small, but the waiter's cool and there's usually a game on. I have taken the time to order from Vito's pizza twice now since moving the Phoenix. I enjoy a flood deep dish pizza and thanks to yelp I was able to see the pictures of Vito's pizza before ordering. Both times I've ordered both times I've been nothing but impressed and excited when the food arrived. I've ordered the deep dish meaty pizza. Honestly one of the most amazing pizzas I've ever eaten. Robust sauce that zings but doesn't drown the meat. Not overly cheesy or crusty. Also both times my deliver fellow was one of the nicest most cheery delivery guys I've ever had the fortune to have bring me food. Honestly he enjoys himself and his job and it shows with his awesome demeanor. Thirdly, I am outside their delivery area. But they still more than gladly brought the food my way. I'm from Chicago and one of my friends moved to Scottsdale and recommended this place as something equivalent to our 3rd best deep dish in Chicago but the best available in the Phoenix area. He was spot on. The pizza is pretty good, it is the best you can get without having the cool specialties like butter crust or slab sausage that covers the whole pizza. This pizzeria was recommended to me by a coworker so I tried their food, twice. Their deep dish is far better than their thin crust pizza. Their thin crust is good, but nothing special. Their wings are also good. Both times I ordered to go. I'm guessing most people do this because each time there were no customers. I'm giving them 3 stars for a few reasons. First, they charge $1 for using your debit card! Yes, that's right. They prefer cash only, which is absurd. It's 2022 and no other restaurant charges their customers $1 to pay for their own food! Secondly, their food is expensive! I paid $56 for a thin crust pizza with 2 toppings, a medium cheese this crust for the kids and a small order of wings. Do these people really expect customers to carry $50 plus cash on them for pizza? Thirdly, they don't offer plates, napkins, grated cheese, red peppers, nothing. They can do better. Like I said, the deep dish is tasty but as business owners they shouldn't charge their customers for using a credit card, especially since the pizza isn't cheap. Also, they open at 3pm! There are other, many other options. Pizza by Napolli on 35th & Thunderbird is equally as good, still shabby, but smells pleasant & is much more affordable. Vito may no longer be with us but the man he handed his place to is also from Chicago. Best Chicago style pizza hands-down. This is the one pizza joint that the max I can eat is two slices. That's how big and heavy the slices are. Full with all the good stuff and flavor. One slice is enough for anybody but it's so good I have to go for the second one just to over stuff myself.
