Everything is tightly packed and has a huge variety of selection. In the back corner there are some signed collectibles and a small case of highly valued video game history. --Service/Staff-- Staff was quick to help me in finding my selection. There are so much to look at in such a small space. They even talked about some of their suppliers which great to hear or not hear being a video game nerd myself. --Food/Products-- Walk to walk and every space is taken with video games. They have one of the largest PS Vita collection, PSP, new, used that I have ever seen. If you are looking for something. Chances are to look here first before trying to purchase it online --Capacity-- Since wall-to-wall video games. There can only be one person in each aisle since there is not enough room to walk past each other. I want to say. No more than 3-5 people can be in the store because of how tight it is. --Overall-- A great place to look for video games. Note some video games have been there for a while and might have some dust on them. I will swing by every time I am in NY.

As soon as I entered, the helpful staff explained where everything was located. Both people were…read morecool to interact with as I asked about certain games, where the new sealed games were located and where their loose games for each system were as well. The selection of Nintendo Switch games is unprecedented here! They have US games and foreign games that you'll never find at Target, Walmart or Best Buy. There aren't many retro gaming stores left in NYC, but this one has a few game options with good value. I visited another retro gaming store on the following day and their prices were too crazy high, even more than online. I returned here the next day to pickup some more games. This location helps you to sell and trade gaming gear too. Looking for that impossible Game Boy or GBA game? There's a high likelihood they have it here!

Truth be told if you were not looking for this place you would risk missing it as its not on the…read moremain thoroughfare of the Bay Ridge avenue and instead just a few stores up the block. Its a small shop but stockpiled around the place up to the ceiling with gaming systems and previously owned cartridges of an endless list of popular games. There are likely even some unpopular ones that are now cult favorites for some reason. I noticed PS2 and PS3 items, along with Nintendo, XBox and many more. Not only can you find the games but they also have a stockpile of the actual systems and controllers on display so if you broke something you might want to get over there. Price wise I'd have to say that they can be all over the place because they are not your conventional shop with a new stock coming in from a distributor every day. They seem focused on the used games and systems so the inventory varies and fluctuates. There are games that are more rare than some others and some items might be in a little less than perfect condition based on use and that is bound to be the case with places like this. Truth be told, I find its better to deal with a slightly higher figure for something you've been looking for forever rather than risking someone else snagging it up while you opine the decision. While they primarily focus on video games for most gaming systems, they do have a stockpile of Funko Pops, some action figures, and a couple of boxes of old comic books all available for assorted prices. Again its based on the stock and the rarity if anything. I did see a stock of hats and billfolds and those are completely new along with a few cork boards of shiny pins which are also new. If you have a gamer geek in your family they should be brought here because I think they'd find something they need or wanted to have for awhile. I've seen them take trades for store credit but outside of that I am not sure how they deal with the walk ins with piles of games, comics or toys. Recommended.

An awesome store with retro vibes and a great selection of games, for all consoles. The star of the…read moreshow would be the vintage NES, SNES, N64, and PSX games, all with very fair prices comparable to what you'd find being sold by independent sellers online, but with the trust of coming from a store, with everything thoroughly cleaned and functioning its best (I've never had to blow on a cartridge I bought from here, and every game has worked on the first try turning on the system). This place's game selection for these systems includes the best of the best, along with the rarer and more esoteric titles, and the inventory moves pretty quickly so there's always something new every few weeks. The guy running the place, Adrian, is extremely kind and courteous - he is always willing to answer questions and provide info, but he's never pushing to sell anything and it feels like a no-pressure, comfortable environment for taking your time to browse. I'd totally recommend Brooklyn Video Games to anyone who appreciates physical stores for retro games and accessories - two thumbs up!

Buying and Selling at Book Off What a cool store. So much to…read moresee. Unfortunately, it is lousy to sell at and expensive to buy at. First, Selling. I brought in three statue items unopened in the original packaging. I checked on ebay for what the items sold for (not asking price but sold price) and it added up to about $600, I lugged the items over there and had to leave them there because they wouldn't get to them right away. The people/kids working there were very nice. I went to have lunch and got the text to return, and they are offering $150. So I picked up the items and turned down the offer. Again, they were very nice, it's just I wasn't willing to accept 25% of the value. I figured at worst it would be 50%. But I am better off getting closer to the actual price on ebay. Now, Buying. Lots of very expensive and exiting things to get, and I didn't have time to price check things so much, but my son is into the Nintendo switch and i spotted a used Marvel VS Capcom game he might like. It was $34.95. But just in case, I pulled up Amazon and looked the game up. A brand new one costs $21.79. So it would have been a terrible idea for me to buy it there. I guess if you are leaving work and need a quick gift, you might stop in and pay too much for an item. If you are in real trouble and don't have time to wait for an Ebay sale, you might consider selling your collectables for 25% the value, this place might come in handy.
