If I could, I would give this location 10 stars. Everyone here was SO NICE and kind! I am visiting Tucson and started having some issues with my left eye (floaters, little bit of flashing light). Thought i should probably have it checked out in case it was something serious. Called first to see if they could squeeze me in. They told me to come on in. After completing their paperwork, I waited no more than 10 minutes and they ran some tests on my eyes. Dr Arlette Marrero-Abreu saw me and my husband soon after the tests were done. She explained everything VERY well so my husband and i could understand and eased my mind. BIG thank you to the ladies here! read more

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!!! I had a very disappointing experience at this eye clinic. I felt uncomfortable during my visits because the staff made comments about my vision that came across as judgmental rather than helpful. I also experienced billing issues that were frustrating to resolve and left me feeling like my concerns were not taken seriously. An eye care provider should make patients feel supported and respected, regardless of their prescription strength. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I have decided to take my business elsewhere and would not recommend this location based on my experience. read more

Lazy receptionist. I literally called 3 times this week to verify insurance. When I came in, receptionist said she'd have to call someone to verify. Ok fine - then call someone. Instead, she just kept repeating that she'd have to call someone, without ever attempting to make a call. I felt like I was going insane talking to someone so incompetent. So I cancelled and left. I'll go somewhere where they know how to verify insurance and use phones. read more

Starting with scheduling, It was so easy to do over the phone with the automated system. Upon arrival of my appointment, The office staff were all very friendly. Dr. A was absolutely amazing! I have never had my prior Doctors at other facilities be so patient and understanding as Dr. A was. She really allowed me the time to decide which lenses helped my vision most so I can see at my fullest potential with corrective lenses. I highly recommend this office, especially Dr. A! read more

This is my 2nd year going here after horrible experience at another chain. I am impressed by the friendliness and compassion of the entire staff. I got an appointment they day & time I wanted within a week after a phone call . Dr. Marrero-Abreu gave a complete explanation of everything she did during the exam and all the results. She is easy to talk to .Later while talking to Ana about getting new glasses, I saw the doctor crouching down to talk to an elderly man in the lobby about his concerns. The worst customer service imaginable at this location. PreCovid wonderful Optometrist and staff. Now, They overbook appointments resulting in wait times. Promised timely order delivery which other office staff say is not possible. and DO NOT FOLLOWUP, DONOT RETURN PHONE CALLS, PROMISE CALLS AND TIMELINESS AND NOTHING HAPPENS. This includes Alex, "Either I or Dr. Abreu will call." Ruby who called once but didn't follow up when no delivery. I'm on an extended stay from Oregon and needed contacts. I am actually blown away by how smoothly everything went from booking an appt online and I was a few minutes early and there was virtually no wait. No wait for the optometrist, Dr. Patel, who is the most personable and engaging optometrist I've ever been to in my 33+ years of seeing an optometrist every year. He found me a pair of contacts to use for now (my vision is abysmal and have to special order them) and I see better than ever just in these "for now" pair. Everyone was great, and Dr. Patel is the best, explains things and makes the tedious process much more entertaining. Plus he wears cool shoes. read more

If I can give zero stars I would...I have bee waiting 15 days for a refund and have yet to receive it and they decided to blame it on my bank. Really? I called my bank and was told VISION WORKS have not processed any refunds to my account. Then they had the nerve to tell me give it 30 days. It doesn't take that long to process anything when ULTRA processed there's within minutes of returning items. I see why they are in the BBB as the worst company for giving you a refund. read more

I'm giving them for us five stars this time they did an excellent job I had a problem I had no glasses to where they took my old lenses and found some frames excellent job and I was out of there under $700 three pairs of glasses. And the technician was very sweet did not rush or pressure me into anything. read more

This is the worst of all the eye doctors in Tucson. If negative stars were available, that's what I'd give. Scheduling an appointment is easy using their online service. What they don't tell you is that you have to confirm your appointment via phone within 48 hours of the scheduled time. They do this and they call whatever number they feel like. Never received a call, text message, email or other type of notification. Wife and I drove from Benson for the appointment as this was the clear first available. We got there and the rude front desk girls informed us that our appointment was given away and we would have to wait to see if someone else did not show up. They also mentioned that that someone we were waiting for had also not shown up. If that was the case, why was their appointment not given away. We showed up 10 minutes early and we're filling out paperwork when this all took place. Have been a VisionWorks customer for years and will never go back for service like that. You've been warned. Schedule at your own risk as they most likely double book and choose how many people they "call" to confirm for based on their "doctors" availability for the day. Do yourself a favor and go to Nationwide or even Americas Best. Forget this business existed and go where they actually understand the concept of an appointment. read more

I had a good experience with them in 2019 so I went back for my annual appointment but this time around hasn't been great. They were clearly short handed and my appointment was often interrupted because other associates kept needing help with their tasks. Last year, the associate took a lot of time to explain the best deal I could get with my insurance and this time was just more rushed so I'm not sure if I got the best deal. Waits were also longer and associates were clearly stressed and overworked. I've also been waiting 3 weeks for my contacts order and keep getting put on hold or told I'll get a call back to see why I haven't gotten them yet. I'm still waiting to hear what's going on and these contacts have already been paid for. read more

I would not recommend this office. I get my regular eye exams here and I found the optometrist to be very good. However the staff is worthless. Multiple employees sitting around talking with each other and neglecting the patrons, having us wait only to say they can't help me with my broken glasses. Customer Service is lacking 100 percent. Other then that when I went to pick out frames I didn't have an appointment and they were able to squeeze me in. The staff was very helpful helping me pick out my frames. I have been getting routine eye exams for 23 years of my life and have been to this location a few times. Never have I ever been so disappointed in the customer service (or serious lack of) that I received today. I arrived 20 minutes before scheduled time and was told by the employee that she was unable to locate me in UHC's database to look up my benefit details. I gave her my medical ID and after talking to her and watching her search for me in the system for less than 10 minutes she told me I was not covered at Visionworks and proceeded to tell me I could pay out of pocket or give me a list of providers. I asked her if she was sure and she told me yes, so I left. I called UHC while in the parking lot and long story short (I'm calling tomorrow to speak to the manager) I was actually in network and should have been seen. I called the front desk around 5pm, explained the situation and then asked if they would be willing to honor my appointment given that I should have been seen in the first place, but wasn't because the employee didn't investigate my benefits properly and they told me no. The soonest I could get in was next week on Tuesday and that their priority was getting the doctor out of the office on time. Which was then followed by "I'm sorry" and then asked if I wanted to book for Tuesday. If I had wanted to wait for next week I would have originally scheduled an appointment time for next week. I was punished for an employee doing their job inadequately and made to feel like it was my fault that the employee thought I was out of network after attempting to search for me for five minutes. I am appalled at the level of professionalism and lack of tact of the employees that worked with me today. I refuse to believe any doctor that values their business and patients would not have honored my appointment after what had happened on behalf of the employee. read more

This Visionworks is the place to go. I called in for an eyeglass repair and I got to this location and they're were all so helpful and repaired my glasses on the spot. Very happy people are there and if I'm in the event to return, I will gladly go back. read more

Lousy customer service. Wife ordered a pair of prescription glasses and told her they'd be ready in a couple weeks. Time comes and no contact from the store so she goes back to them. They told her the lab didn't do the order correctly so had to send them back. Why couldn't they call? They'd call when ready. Three weeks pass and no word from the store so she calls. Now they can't find her order AT ALL. No record of the purchase, no glasses, no record of what happened to the first pair. Today she goes to the store receipt in hand. They say computer glitch and they had to resubmit the order. Concerned with their lack of performance to date she asks for a refund. They get one star for not balking and processing her refund. Competitor just down the road got her business instead. Plenty of other places in town folks, you'd be better off taking your business elsewhere. read more

Unable to accommodate an appointment where I called ahead and said I would be late. Joke of a place

I went in for an eye exam, but the doctor didn't have my contacts in stock, so he told me they'd call when they were in. A week later, they call asking me to make a second appointment to try on two types of "trial" contacts the doctor had ordered for me. Apparently, he had not actually written my prescription during my $130 eye exam, and wanted me to test drive several different brands before writing the prescription. And note, these were "trials", meaning he ordered one pair of each brand, as opposed to the 6 month supply I usually buy. So two appointments later and I am STILL without contacts. I've worn contacts for 10 years and have never been asked to come in for a second eye exam! Dr. Randal Johnson is slow, rude, and incapable, and his front desk staff just seem confused. I took my prescription and ordered my contacts elsewhere. I will never return. read more

I can only describe my visit to Visionworks as "chill", professional and friendly at the same time. The Dr. was personable and thorough, the front of the house staff was engaging and helpful. No high pressure sales tactics (unless cleverly disguised as funny and easy going). I would encourage anyone looking for an excellent vision center experience, to have it here. read more

This is an update to my previous 5 star review left a bit over a month ago but is gone now! Doctor is still trying to find the right contacts and to date, I don't have any I can use. Glasses came in but I couldn't see with them. Marcia did a troubleshooting ticket and got me back to the doctor. Doctor Kowalski said the machine used to determine my prescription was not correct so we basically started over. I do have a concern that the arms on the brand new glasses are defective. I requested they supply new frames (same style) so they are stable. Dr Kowalski assured me he would check into it. This all occurred on January 18th. Haven't had a follow-up call to date hence the 4 star rating. I am also concerned that this guarantee is 30 days which my original visit was December 26th. I have spent $800 to date and have nothing but my 2.5 year old glasses. I am hopeful they will make this right soon. I would really like to know where my original post on yelp went. It is flat MIA. read more
