Had several positive experiences here, particularly with the manager Jamie. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in addressing some difficulties i had with my glasses. I agree the receptionist isn't great (irritable, not always professional) but get past her and service is great! read more

They were awful. I went there a few weeks ago with my daughter and had a good experience. Brought my boys back and were late for the first of the two back to back appts I booked. There was, literally, no one else there. Josh (I believe), said "you missed the entire appt" and I could only do one. I said okay, but I was just here with my daughter and it took about 10 min, if that happens can we do both? He said "it won't." And I asked if there was nothing at 3:40? He said "No, we're all booked up all week. You missed the entire appt. It doesn't work like that." He didn't look at me once. I put in one kid's name, then we stood to the side for a moment and I said we're actually going to leave because you're pretty rude. He called "ok, bye". Didn't look at me ONCE during this transaction. Yes, I did miss the first one. No, it doesn't take 20 minutes. Your website says you take walk-ins, and now I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

very rude and unhelpful receptionist. I walked out and took my business elsewhere. hope they understand people have options, many options.

At the beginning of the exam, I told the OD that I could not see well enough to drive or read (difficulty with both near and far vision). During the exam, I was not able to see any of the letters. The OD told me to "just guess". At the end of the exam, she informed me that my prescription had not changed at all, with just a slight change to my reading prescription. She told me that my problem was that I had dry eyes; however, she never did any test to determine that. The OD told me anytime I had trouble with my vision, just to use OTC eyedrops. I subsequently went to another OD who diagnosed me with cataracts in BOTH eyes. No amount of eye drops will help cataracts. If you value the health of your eyes, STAY AWAY from this business!! In addition, the customer service was horrible. When I went to pick up my glasses, no one would help. After there were 3 of us waiting for pick up, someone finally came out and just handed us our glasses and turned around and left. There was no check of fitting or if the lenses were centered for our eyes. The glasses I received were not centered. As the center was low and the glasses were progressive, there was not enough room to get me to read clearly. Overall, the WORSE experience I have ever had. I repeat, STAY AWAY from this business. Anywhere else would be better! read more

Cancelled our CONFIRMED appointment, apparently the day before, WITHOUT ANY NOTICE WHATSOEVER!!! "Sorry for the glitch" And sorry for taking time from work in the middle of the day to go here. Thanks for wasting my time. read more

Visionworks - Eyewear & Opticians Near Me - Shrewsbury, Massachusetts

Bought two pair of glasses here a year ago and was not unhappy. So went back to price new lenses as my eyes have changed. No one greets you when entering. I actually left, went grocery shopping and came back. Still no greeting. In the same session with a less than engaged clerk I got were THREE different prices for exactly the same lenses. THREE. Her knowledge and math skills lacking. I felt like trying to buy a used car. Prices are not published nor consistent. Just how much can you be conned out of? AND, they will not bill insurance AND give you a discount. Would have spent $600 likely if not for the incompetence. Target, Walmart and Costco all have much better deals. Save your time. They will not be a loss to the community. read more

The gentleman that helped my elderly mother this morning was absolutely wonderful (I wish I got his name, but he was the only man working there at the time - 10:30). He was patient and truly so kind to her. I am so appreciative as there are not many people with that much patience and understanding with elderly people these days. He gets 5+ stars from us! read more

This place is awesome! I received excellent customer service from Paul today! He really took his time to help me out and take care of exactly what I needed. Thank you so much! read more

Horrible service. They ignore customers that a re standing right in front of them. Frames are shit, all of them are so fragile that they break within a week. My sons glasses had to be repaired 6 times before the manufacturers warranty ended a year after we bought them. I will never give this company my business again. read more

Absolute worst customer service possible. Waited over two weeks after I scheduled my appointment to contact me about my insurance. Then when I explained my insurance is an open access plan just said nope we don't accept it. My advice is don't even bother trying to make an appointment. read more

I had a good experience at Visionworks. Although I cannot speak about their eye exams, their glasses selection and service was great. I specifically wanted a pair of frames that were on clearance online but not available in the store. They called 5+ other locations to locate a pair and had them shipped to the store. They called me promptly when they were available, and I was of no obligation to purchase them. The lenses were fitted and I was out the door an hour later with new glasses. Paul was exceptionally helpful, and based on my experience I would highly recommend Visionworks, Shrewsbury. read more

Vision works in Shrewsbury is rude and a total rip off. I bought two pairs of glasses and had a contact lenses exam. After a trial I didn't like the brand and wished to buy another brand of contacts. Instead of giving me a general prescription I was told to change it ( no exam involved) I would have to pay vision works another 30 dollars . This is after spending 450.00. They cancel appointments if you don't call them right back. The receptionist on duty was rude and condescending. I have been buying glasses and contacts for many many years and have never dealt with such a horrible company and such rude and unprofessional people. Go there at your own peril. They don't even deserve a 1 star rating. David read more

Dr. Zopatti is AMAZING! I saw her today and she fitted me with the most comfortable contacts of my life!! Seriously... life changing! She was so knowledgeable and just a genuinely kind doctor. Best eye doctor experience of my life. Paul is also wonderful! He took such great care of my daughter and I. He made sure we were able to use my insurance benefit to the fullest. Vision Works is fortune to have him! We will be back next year!!!!! read more

The folks at this location are rude at best. I walked in today, with one other person in the store, besides the tech, and was told that I needed an appointment to browse. . Really! I'm not ignoring the need to have appointments during these times, but when the store is empty? Won't return. read more

I went for an eye exam on 10/19/18. I bought my glasses that cost almost $200.00. I was told by Andrew that they would be ready in 7 days but most likely less than that because he was the one that took care of the lenses. I called them on Thursday 10/25/18 to check on my glasses, Andrew answered the phone told me they weren't ready yet. I called them again today 10/27/18 and spoke to Jason who tells me it takes 10 days for them to come in. I ask to speak to a manager. Valerie who calls at the end of the day to tell me it takes 10-14 days and that I was promised the glasses per paperwork on 10/29/18. Not very happy with the service. Cant get the facts straight. They had no problem taking my money. They booked an appt for next year without my knowledge until I got an email which I will be cancelling. Would not recommend! read more

Had an appointment and confirmed when they texted me. Got a reminder the morning of and then a voicemail that they canceled it because I did not let-register. Took time off of work for this and it was an hour before my appointment. Called and they wouldn't not honor my appt and accidentally ???? Hung up in me. Will never do business with them. 820 am was my reminder, 1020 the cancellation and I immediately called them back. Appt was 1120 read more

I am giving one because there is none -1 star to give. This people are the worst. Unprofessional they cancel appointments on you and don't care what your schedule is. They make a mistake and its always your fault, but they will charge your health plan anyway. Save money go somewhere else. Don't waste your time. read more

Do not schedule an appointment with this location unless you can spend at least an hour waiting for your appointment, despite you arriving on time. Over an hour wait without any estimate of when the appointment will start is a distrespect to a patient's time. read more

Excellent staff Andrew told me that my glasses would be ready in 7 days and they were actually ready in 5. The optician (Paul) was very knowledgeable and was great to work with very helpful. The Manager Valerie is very sweet, and extremely helpful. Store is very clean, and there are a lot of frames to choose from and prices are very reasonable. read more
