Okay,3rd time I have been back since August.First time lenses were not correct,last time because lenses were cracking.Third time same problem lenses cracking.Never get an exclamation why it's happening.I have been wearing glasses for 60 years and have never had this problem.If someone asks me one more time how I clean my glasses,I am going to scream.I don't think it has anything to do with my lenses cracking.Don't hope this happens again.I also think if glasses are guaranteed for a year,I should be getting an extension on that year for every time they need to be fixed.Last time I complained,someone said they would bring it up with upper management,never heard anything...... read more

If I could give a zero I would, they are scammers and only out for themselves. The eye exam was fine and thorough....but the glasses, they gouge you with very high pricing. They take advantage of seniors with medicare plans saying all their lenses cost $160 and least expensive frame is $69...most plans only have a $200 limit. They make up the prices as they go cause they work on commission. Stay away, especially if you are a senior citizen! read more

I was dubious about how to choose the right eyecare facility, so I took a leap of faith and chose Visionworks. The best decision I've made in a long time. Their professionalism and courteous vibe from the minute I walked in the door was unmatched. The management team and eye specialist left an indelible impression on me. Jai and Twana in perticular were amazing and patient. Norma was phenomenal as she dealt with my indecisiveness on selecting a proper frame. One Star today after 5 years or more a customer. My daughter in my presence order new eye wear and was told today it would be ready. Upon arrival she was told there was no order since they were not yet paid for. Her previous order upon picking up she had to pay so therefore the order was never placed.My daughter asked if she could have a single pair till her order came in and was told she would have to pay 120$ for her order then get a emergency pair for todays wedding. Until she paid they had none in her vision upon paying they magically had 3. Erica the salesperson should enroll @ SUNY and take customer relations 101. See the computer, see our steady purchases ,apologize and get your head out of your butt. BTW ban employees eating at the front desk its not Wendys or Godiva chocolatier!! RED FLAGS from the beginning. My glasses fell off my face and flew when they hit the pavement on a Thursday night. When we located them the arm was missing. I have insurance through my union which requires us to use Davis Visionworks. I called them Friday morning. I cant see without them and used tape to secure the arm in place (barely) so I could drive and work at least. INITIAL CONTACT: Called to make an appointment, was told I didn't need one. I said are you sure because I need an eye exam. I haven't had one since last year. She said have your results sent over and we can just use that. I said I work on the computer and my prescription usually changes every year. She said ok have Cohens fax over your records and we will see you Saturday. I called Friday, no records called cohens they said we sent them and they verified the #. They resent them to me and I got them immediately. I brought them in with me. ARRIVAL: I arrived and was immediately greeted. I gave my name and insurance card and id. The woman stated she couldn't verify my insurance at the moment but I could begin looking for frames. She said do you know what your benefits are I said, yes I get 2 pairs. She said 2? I said yes 2. Readers for the PC and a daily pair. She told me to keep looking and when I find the pairs to let her know. I said well where do I find the ones covered by my insurance plan, she said just pick 2 pair and we'll go over that with you afterwards. HUH? That made no sense to me but I begin looking. Everything was priced greater than $100. I'm not used to paying more than $40 for a pair of glasses. The cheapest pair we found that fit my face was $138 after looking in rows and rows of frames. The verification of insurance was done & she informed me that I was only entitled to 1 pair. I said absolutely not. I know my plan very well. I am entitled to 2pair of frames every 2 years. She called the manager over and the manager looked & said, its says 2 pair right there. She gets two pair. The young lady said Oh. Of course I gave her the side eye (natural reaction of I told you so). SELECTION: The selection process was too long as you scour through dozens looking for a pair within your budget if you have one. If you think you are going to go in and say Which frames are covered by my plan? you're in for a rude awakening. Total time spent was 90 minutes trying to locate 2 pairs of frames. THE EXAM: my coworker told me to go early because they are slow. I was told come at 1pm, I got there at 11:30am & I still had to wait over an hour to be seen after I picked frames. I was there for 3 hrs. now and the woman taking care of me had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to come back tomorrow to be seen because the optometrist was running behind schedule. I said "absolutely not". I have no glasses. I mean I already took the time off from work to be here. I'm 3hrs vested in this visit so to come back was ridiculous. I waited 7 was seen. When called to the back, I was given my glaucoma test & eye exam. The woman who did the glaucoma testing was very professional & she was actually very apologetic about the long wait. She was the first person to actually apologize for this bad experience. I don't recall her name (she was African American) but she was pleasant. PURCHASE/PICKUP PROCESS: Took about 10 mins. to complete order. I asked when they would be ready & was told Monday morning. Monday came, no call by 5pm so I called instead to check on status & was told yes they are ready. I came the next morning & they were not even there. I asked if she could double check because I called last night & was told they were ready. She said they wont be ready until Friday. I asked how come when they were supposed to be ready yesterday. I couldn't get a real answer so I left upset about it. It was day 5 without a decent pair of glasses. I was struggling. Saturday morning I called & they were ready. I went to p/u and was given a pair of glasses. I said its 2 pair. She said oh. She went to the back & I began getting frustrated because I was sitting for 20 minutes waiting for the 2nd pair. Another woman came over & said hi you are waiting on another pair of glasses right? I said yes is there a problem because its been more than 20 minutes. She said well it looks like the glasses were damaged when they were putting in the lenses & we didn't have that frame in stock anymore so we had to see if other stores have it. It'll be a few days but we'll call you. You have got to be kidding me I said. Then I asked why I was not notified when they called to say the order was ready. She couldn't come up with an excuse for that. I asked to choose a new pair of equal value & she said I'm sorry our process is to look to other stores first before offering a new frame. I said well did anyone say they have it? She said I don't know yet. I was upset that I had to return to this awful place. I received the glasses 6 days later. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! read more

Purchased a few pair of glasses at this location. The staff is very nice. This is why I love shopping at a local neighborhood store. This is the second time I've walked in with my glasses needing an adjustment and I am greeted with lovely employees who are only to eager to fix them, clean them and send me on my way happy. Approximately 1 week prior to this visit, I went in to Visionworks to select a new pair of frames. The manager at that time was extremely helpful and insightful. I had chosen a pair of frames that came in two colors and I was having a difficult time choosing between them. Virtually every staff in the store gave me their opinion which was much appreciated! Sometimes it's hard to really "see yourself", if you know what I mean, so was very grateful for their input. I called a few days later because I found the frames online for a much cheaper price and I was told that they would price match if the frames were exact. On 6/19/15, I returned to the store with the printout of the online price. The girl at the counter greeted me and said she remembered me. I showed her the printout and she told me she just needed to get the manager for price matching. The manager did not even acknowledge my presence. She was at the computer and suddenly said "absolutely not". To be honest, I am not sure exactly what she was saying. The nice receptionist then told me that I could have the price match but that I would not be able to use my insurance toward it. Why not? I still do not know. I thanked her for her help but informed her that I would buy the frame, with the presumption lenses online as it was cheaper. The manager then turned to me and said "so we're done here?". Really? How is that appropriate to say to a customer at all? She didn't even attempt to explain or apologize. Nothing. It's surprising that the sales staff are better behaved than the manager! The use of language (cursing, "demanding", unnecessary sarcasm and even a threat) should hopefully cause everyone to disregard that ignorant comment completely. Now, on a brighter note!:) Davis Vision is exactly on point with their service! They made sure I had all the information I needed in order to make an informed decision, they guided me with options but did not pressure me one bit. Without even asking I was told ahead of time how long I should expect to be there for my eye exam so I was able to plan my day correctly. never on time for set appointments. they don't even care to address or apologize the fact that they are never on time regardless if you are sitting in front of them in excess of a half hour past your appointment. i'm sitting there now and have been waiting over 40 minutes! they always have a different story about benefits. if you have contacts and they don't provide the ones you need you are not getting them as you should on plan. then when you tell them you would like the prescription for the contacts and prescription for eyeglasses with a pair included, they say the can't do that and that "you have to pay for the contact exam" . then when you tell them that you don't want the free glasses and just the prescription for the contacts and eyeglasses they tell you that the can't because your contact lenses aren't under the plan. and then you tell them that all you want is the exam and nothing else, no contacts, no glasses, just the exam and prescriptions your entitled to they refuse!!!! as a csea union member i wish csea would do something about the poor service and unwillingness on there part to provide the benefits which visionworks is getting paid for!! csea should start looking for more willing and reliable partners like costco!!! so today, december 7th, one day after writing this review i received an email from visionworks saying i should give them my telephone number where i could be reached. i did. do you think they called me??? nope...they didn't. today on december 9, i received a call from the regional manager of visionworks. the conversation was a total waste of time. she offered no explanation for the lack of attention at their store and no compensation whatsoever for my time lost and aggravation. i told her this was an ongoing situation there and that i've been going to the location for several years (7-8) both by myself, or with my wife and and that entire lunch hours have been wasted and examinations reschesuled. read more

I ordered new glasses from VISION WORKS almost a month ago, the receptionist said to give them 7-10 days so day7 I called they not ready. day 12 I call they still not ready so today I call and the girl said they been ready, so I said I never received a call tell me to come pick them up. She said "we don't call anyone" corporate doesn't allow us to call any more. I'm sorry but NORMALLY when you order glasses don't you get a phone call to let you know it's ready???? I have been a patient there for a few years and the last set of contacts I purchased were horrible. I called to see if I could sample a new pair (and then of course purchase them). The women told me I had to pay an additional $30. My prescription is not expired so I don't see why. First time I went here, they had me waiting 40 minutes in the waiting area. Finally I got up and they said there were still two people ahead of me. I rescheduled, because no one even bothered to tell me the wait was over an hour and a half. Then I had my appointment and when I order my glasses they tell me that they will be ready a certain day and I can pick them up after that; they don't call to let you know. What place doesn't call? I was happy with the service I got during the exam, etc. and was told my son's glasses would be ready on Monday. All well and good. I work a lot, so I called Monday evening (since apparently Davis doesn't call) at 5:29 to see if the glasses would be available for pickup that night. I was told 'no they weren't ready, maybe tomorrow'. At 5:54 I got an email from them telling me they were ready. Really??? I didn't see the email until after the store was closed. Now, due to my schedule and it being a holiday week, the glasses have to be picked up on Friday. Way to go! They really dropped the ball on this one. read more

We have been coming for years and would never go anywhere else for glasses. The staff is excellent and very helpful. Particularly Christine and Linda. These two ladies always go above and beyond to make the customer happy. They are very knowledgeable professional and personable. They are great representatives of the company. Dr. Rubin is a very good eye doctor . He surely knows his job and always makes us feel comfortable. Everyone goes out of their way to make the experience a positive one. If you're going to waste your time with Davis Vision, you're going to waste a lot of it. Apparently no one has informed this company that any optometrist--even a bad one--can have your glasses ready within a couple of hours, instead of the WEEK Davis Vision requires. Maybe all of the resources they devote to teaching their staff to upsell you on lenses would be better utilized expediting the merchandise you've just paid for. (In full, of course.) In addition, even with an appointment I waited almost a half hour. And they don't carry any prestige brands, unless I missed it and Skechers and Harley Davidson eyewear were all over the runways of Paris this fall. The actual optometrist was decent and pretty thorough, but in my opinion you should find a reliable non-corporate optometrist, support a small business, and experience much better customer service. read more

The service I received at Visionworks was awesome being greeted right away they didn't take my insurance but had a very good promotions available, Good selections on frames in all price range and they took the time to explain the lenses and cost and i purchased two pairs. I have to say the staff was friendly and very helpful. I will be back for future purchase with the rest of my family. read more

I've been coming here for years! I ordered my glasses in March my lens got scratched n started peeling a few months later and they replaced my lens no questions asked. Today I called at 2:00 for a same day appointment and they were able to see me an hour later for my daughter's check up. Turns out she needed her first pair of glasses to see the chalk board. I asked if it was possible to get them today and sure enough my daughter walked out with her brand new glasses and will be ready to see the world clearer! Zero Stars I have worn glasses for over 40 years. Because of a recent change in my insurance I went to Davis Vision. Rather than spend an entire paragraph detailing how poorly I was treated - the bottom line is that after 3 eye exams and 3 pairs of glasses and several weeks - I still cant see out of the glasses that we given to me [The last explanation was that the glasses were tilted on my head] I subsequently wrote about my horrific experience to the corporate office. They took a couple of months to get back to me with the typical corporate response. "There is nothing we can do" - and if I wanted to write yet another complaint letter - they would review it again ! I did not bother to write another letter. Now I have to wait 2 full years in order to have my insurance cover the cost of new glasses. I cant afford to buy glasses. Please do not go to Davis Vision - save yourself a lot of frustration. Go somewhere else ! M read more
