Imagine this! Doesn't tell the whole story Brought in an elderly, totally deaf, autistic friend. AND he is also a real life recluse. Never leaves his house except to be driven to doc appointments. Always a challenge. Took 4 years to convince him to get his, what he believes are his perfect eyes, tested. Two ophthalmologists said they couldn't test him. Staff at this Visionworks was wonderful!! Front of store staff were both friendly and helpful Tech was obviously knowledgeable and quiteskilled, and very, VERY patient (Example: it took 4 tries to get his first eye lined up for a camera. First three time his ear was closer to the lens) The ophthalmologist was VERY professional. When I explained the situation he said it was not a problem. And after several attempts to get my friend to read the letters out loud, it wasn't!! He modified his exam so his patient could understand what to do. So now my friend knows he has advanced cataracts and also needs prescription glasses. In about 3 months I think I can persuade him to get glasses We will be back. This entire staff may not fully understand what their professionalism and patience means. We have been to several Visionworks. Last one Harrisburg, Pa. They said they can transfer his old script over. I'm hoping to get him glasses today. But that will only happen if they have his lense script in. Well he is out now and they would have to send lenses out... so oh well gotta go. Leaving town tomorrow. We tried. I ordered a pair of RX sunglasses and ironically, they arrived the same day I was approved for a lasik touch up. I stopped in to order a set of non-RX sunglasses lenses to replace my RX lenses now that my vision has been correct by lasik. The girl working told me non-RX lenses will be $170. (I paid $180 for the frames and RX lenses originally using my insurance.). $170? No thanks. I'll just buy an new pair of sunglasses for that. read more

Seen many doctors over the last few years here. All have been great. Needed vision correction in both eyes now. Finally got glasses as well, for the days I don't want or can't wear contacts. Also got green lenses for fun. For one years worth of Accuvue Oasys Two-Week lenses, two pairs of Air Optix green lenses and one pair of glasses was ~ $550, after insurance. This was my first visit. I was instructed by a youngman to picked out a frame. He told me the insurance would pay less on that frame. So I needed a second pair of glasses anyway and he suggested the frame the insurance would pay for. I hated the frames they were too big and not very flattering . My appointment had taken a long time. Because they were short of help, He would leave me to help other customers. I was tired and picked the frames he suggested.Hoping it would speed things up. The youngman measured for my glasses. He told me my 2 pairs of glasses would cost almost $900.00. Eventhough I had insurance and there was a sale. I gave him my payment, But the computers were down. He could not add my measurements or process my payment. He suggested I call the next day and give them my payment and ask they put my measurements and order in the computer. I called as instructed. Was given an approximate time frame 7 to 10 days for the arrival of my glasses. The last pair arrived 14 days later. I had problems seeing out of the glasses. The youngman was not there, and they say wear the glasses for a couple of days to get use to them, I did that and it was not better. when I returned she said youre not better. Explaining again to her, I had to look up really high to be able to read. Thank God, she listened and found my measurments were all wrong. And they would have to send my glasses back to be remake the lenses ! She agreeed the frame he chose was too big. The first pair of glasses were not back still. I ask to put a rush on my order because , I had no glasses. She said they couldnt do that. I ask can you at least send them the new correct measurements. She said no, We need to just put in a new order. While filling out the new order, she discovered . I had been grossly over charged by the youngman, when he wrote up the order the first time The 2nd pair of Glasses came back a week late, they were fine I could see and the new frame fit my face better. You will have the most miserable experience if you choose to do business with these people. There are no appointments, but it's also not first come first serve... it's whoever they decide to wait on next. I regret ever doing any business with them. They made the first pair grossly incorrect, the second try was slightly better. It's been 3 weeks now and still waiting to see how bad the third pair will be. The wonderful people at vision works could not care less about their customers and are not above lying about it. We drove an hour to our appointment today only to find the store closed with a sign saying they would re-open 11 Jan. I called corporate to ask why no one bothered to call and tell us the appointment had to be canceled or rescheduled. (You know, our time, the customer, is not at all fucking important!) I took time off of work to go. So some lady at corporate claimed she did not know the store was closed and said she would have the regional manager call me back before the end of the day. Great, She sounded like she was trying to help. End of the day, no call. Not rescheduled, no answers. As far as I am concerned the Visionworks location at Independence center can kiss my rosy red cheeks. The regional manager can piss off. I am going to leave negative reviews where ever I get the chance. #VisionworksSucks! I went here July 20 2018 and bought 1yrs worth of contacts and was told that when I needed to get my balance to contact them and they wld order them. Well when I contacted them I was told that wasn't correct. And wld have to pay more money. The staff member that took care of me July is no longer there. I spent nearly 600.00 dollars that day on contacts and glasses and now I'm shit out of luck!! I wld not recommend vision works to any body. My yearly eye exam is coming up and I will definitely b going some where else!!! read more

Uggghh! Worst customer service EVER! I had a trial set of contacts, called them when I was 5 days through to them and they couldn't get me in to see the doctor for 3 weeks. Then, when I went in for my appointment, they said the doctor was sick and went home. A phone call would have been great! I called to make a new appointment and they took my name and number, saying they were really busy and would call me back. Two weeks have passed and no phone call. I called again today and they can get me in in two weeks so the doctor can check my contacts, which they have to order and can take up to 2 weeks. Since I don't live close to that location anymore (although I was willing to drive there ), I asked if there was a location near me. She said yes and I could locate it myself. I asked if she could give me the phone number and she replied "I can Google it for you". Seriously? I can do that myself! Visionworks has lost my business. I just picked up my new glasses. I told them when I tried them on that something is wrong, that they are blurry when I try to read. I feel like I'm getting dizzy a nauseous while wearing them. The ear pieces are giving me a headache, and the nose piece hits the corner of my eye. They didn't even spend 30 seconds making sure they fit right. They just told me to try them first thing in the morning. Well I did that. This is the worst pair of glasses I've ever had. read more

Walked in without a appointment was greeted promptly. Got me right in due to a cancellation Great staff that created a casual friendly atmosphere. The exam was a great experience doctor took time to explain things. Chri D helped me pick out my glasses when all said and done we went threw 30 pairs. He was very understanding and calm as was the whole staff as we all know what kinda of stress they are under. Overall great experience!! In and out in about a hour. read more
