I was given the wrong prescription for my contacts and I just thought it was me. I thought that I was having a hard time getting used to the contacts themselves. The services and a year of contacts was $600. I went back the next year to get glasses. The doctor is very nice and very good. I told him about my contacts and he told me to let him check them. Twice, we raised the prescription. Then, we got the right fit and I had to pay for the exam and the contacts again. I was given a discount and I appreciate that however, I felt that I should have gotten my money back for the unopened boxes of contacts that I could not use. The answer was no. I had no use for them so I gave them back to the doctor for his use. No money for them. Just a thank you. Of course! Free contacts! So, I would say this... the doctor made an error and he did not refund me for that error. Then, when I ordered another box of the corrected prescription, I was given a discount. Unfortunately, the contacts came back WRONG again. The office ordered the same incorrect contacts that I already had. So I gave them back and they got me the right ones. All in all, there were mistakes that I consider relevant to my rating- could have been better. I would not recommend this outfit although the doctor has all the best machines and is very knowledgeable. If he makes a mistake, he will not give you your money back. But even more unreasonable than that, the women that I spoke to about the problem and appealed to them to compensate me somehow- were truly not interested in helping me out. The expense of the glasses was $600.00. The contacts totaled $750.00. Truly too expensive if they are not going to care about their mistakes. read more

I've been under eye care since childhood, and this was the kindest and most thorough exam I've ever had. This was especially meaningful to me because I had my 18 month old with me, and everyone was very attentive and understanding about my little one. My wait time my short, my exam was quick, but incredibly insightful. I honestly felt like the doctor understood my eyes and my vision more after 10 minutes than my previous doctor had after 10 years. I then had the opportunity to pick out a new set of glasses frames, and after seeing the style I gravitated toward, the associate picket out the perfect frames for me. She simply nailed it on the first try. After just a few minutes, my new lenses were ordered and I was on my way. I am looking forward to my new glasses, and I highly recommend this team. The Dr and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They had top of the line equipment and made my visit easy and comfortable. Even though I got some potentially bad news, the Dr helped ease my worries. They're very rude in there.. I've been using the same insurance that i just renewed back in May. They kept telling me it's terminated and i finally went somewhere else, same day and my insurance work?? I've been going there for about a couple years because it so convenient but, they're so nasty, rude, and miserable. They catch attitudes with their clients.. i do not see why they're even in business still? Or maybe it's just towards a certain race?? Anyways i don't recommend them to anybody, I'm going to go in and tell them to take me off their books because my insurance most definitely went through somewhere else when I've been so called "terminated" their entire staff is a joke and bullshit. I've seen a good amount of different eye doctors, but have not been impressed by one until I started coming here. I was sent here for an appointment for the Reserves and was so pleased with my visit that this is the only doctor I will see from now on. Dr. Polakoff is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. He gives very detailed and thorough exams. Every one of the staff are very friendly, honest, and helpful. When I came for my contacts prescription, I was expecting to get the prescription and to order them at home to save money. Instead, Dr. Polakoff pulled up 1800-Contacts (the website I previously used) and price matched, without me even asking him to. He walked me back to the front desk and gave me his direct line to call if I had any issues at any time. To sum, the staff here go above and beyond what you normally see at any doctor's office and you'll walk away very happy. read more

I used to not enjoy going to the eye doctors although my attitude has changed since going to Dr. Polakoff. He's the only eye doctor I've ever had that actually put contacts in for me (most never do) and he goes above and beyond during the appointment. My visits over the last 5 years have been easy to schedule, prompt, painless, and I appreciate the value regarding the contacts and glasses I've purchased (oftentimes there's a really great rebate offered by the lens companies). The staff here is just awesome. I'm a slightly needy patient in a sense that I'm a repeat visitor (not just my annual appointment). When my eyes get dry from allergies occasionally, I'll visit and Dr. Polakoff and his team hook me up with some eye drops that alleviate the symptoms. Following my annual check up this past summer, I noticed my vision worsen slightly to the point where it was noticeable wearing my glasses/contacts. So I called up the office explaining the issue, and they had me come in for a follow up where they did another quick complimentary exam to fix the issue. This practice goes above and beyond to ensure satisfaction. I'm from out of state and never gone to a place that cares as much as these guys do. Dr. Polakoff is a very intelligence guy who makes you feel welcome and puts any anxiety you may have at ease. Highly recommend. read more

I'm always greeted with friendly smiles and how are you. I never had to wait to be seen. The staff are always friendly. The eye DR, takes his time with me and is always listening to hear my concerns and progress. He is also very informative and makes you feel at ease and always comfortable. My daughter also goes and sees DR Stephen Polakoff, and she loves it there as well. Karen Joyce is amazing at her Job, she is the last person you see, and her skills are out of this world when helping you pick out your frames. Which we all know can be a pain because you wanna make sure they look and make you feel beautiful wearing them, and with a ton of frames to choose from can become overwhelming. But, Karen can makes this job so easy and look at your face and picks a couple she may think you will like, not once has she let me down on picki g out a pair of glasses. Im so excited to pick up my new glasses that she had me try on 1st and they were the frames I have been looking for and she just knew what would fit with my face and personality. Overpriced. My Daughter and I had eye exams recently. We just moved to the area and came here because it was the closest place my health insurance covered. The eye doctor was friendly and the staff was too. My complaint is their prices and disclosure. They wouldn't tell me if my vision changed from the last time I had an exam. They just sat me down and told me to pick out what I wanted. Nothing in the waiting room had prices which told me right away they were overpriced. My health insurance was supposed to cover the complete cost on lenses and $120 toward new frames. They charged me $175 for my 8 year old Daughter's glasses and claimed that the rest was covered by my health insurance. Unless those glasses cure cancer I don't know why they were so expensive. I wanted contacts which they charged me a $60 "fitment" fee those plus $249 for a years supply of contacts. I have no idea what they heck a fitment fee is but they didn't do anything. They handed me a pair of contacts and told me to put them in. So I did and that was the end. As far as $249 for contacts, that is crazy. I called my eye doctor I saw all my life and he told me a years supply is only $40. So I call back to cancel my contact order and he gave me the run around and told me I couldn't cancel my Daughter's glasses because they were already made and then he charged me a $20 cancellation fee on my contacts. I am going to call my health insurance today and see if he really did submit a claim because something is not jiving here. I hope he didn't and he gets in trouble for fraud. read more

Vision Source is a tiny place in a little strip mall in Linthicum. The optometrist is a friendly guy who clearly knows what he is doing. The exams are always thorough and in-depth utilizing a lot of different tests and equipment. That part comes to the dodgy issue, in that they are pretty quick to run the tests before they explain the difference between vision and medical insurance and what each will pay for. If you have to get glasses, you might as well get them here. read more

I was very pleased with my experience here. The doctor was very friendly and was a pleasure to talk too. I paid a bit more than I had planned, but that was not the doctors fault as my insurance did not cover anything, he did end up giving me a discount, which I was happy about. I will not be seeing any other eye doctor in the future. The staff was friendly and honest. I had been having terrible headaches from previous glasses and the doctor said that the prescription was too strong. Picked up my new glasses this week and I am adjusting wonderful. The facility was clean and well maintaned there was a nice selection of frames to choose from and the office helped to give me a discount where my insurance fell through. I can't say enough about this office. I have been coming here for several years and I have never left disappointed. I too, work in the Medical field and it's not everyday that you find an office staff that is courteous, professional, and efficient. You will get a completely thorough eye examination, I promise. They have a beautiful selection of frames too. Good until my daughter decided not to get her glasses there then the staff became rude. Even making a snide comment in front of my 8 yr old about not getting the glasses there. I asked Ahead of time if hey had a decent selection for her with her insurance was told yes only for the lady to pull out 5 pair and be like well that's it. They dilated her pupils in their waiting room called her back 10 mins later and had us walking out the door in 20-25 mins yet when I asked originally how long this process would take because I could not remember if it was one or two hours I was told at least an hour. My daughter has had it done twice before at another doctors and it did take at least an hour. When we first walked in we were the only ones in there yet we were not greeting for about 5 mins by people who were standing right in front of us. When I expressed without cursing, yelling, or being rude that I have worked in the field for along time and so know how u are suppose to treat patients I was told by the doctor well you go right on working. I will not recommend this place to anyone and I will never take my child to such money hungry rude ppl again. read more
