I am coming back to review based on the doctors and the staff from my recent appointment: the Andersons and I met Dr. Anderson which is their daughter and I think she was lovely and was very helpful with my visit. She told me my retina could be in the textbook and that was such a compliment and Ruby was helpful again. I did have a rough customer service experience with other employees that were interns in the past but the staff that has been at Vision Max over the past year/recent months has been accommodating and helpful and the doctors are great. read more

This place gets you taken care of right of the bat. Great selection in frames and the employees are very assertive, kind, helpful and knowledgeful. I am shocked that my eyeglass order, which was fully paid for over a year ago, still has not been delivered. Transparency with their products. My brand named glasses had one of the legs come off. I went in to get it fixed and was told that I would have to buy a whole new frame for the original price. I asked for the eye prescription and was told the prescription was made to fit the lenses of the glasses. I was able to find a tutorial on how to fix the leg and the glasses are good as new. While I waited at this location I also heard a customer with the exact same tissue be provided the same resolution. I did really like the optometrist that saw me when I had my eye exam before this incident. So not a total waste. read more

I went there because my insurance had changed and my regular doctor wouldn't take this new insurance anymore so I chose a place where I could have glasses made with the same kind of lenses i have ... Well my first appt was December 29th.....waited 3 weeks for the first phone Message saying my glasses were ready...went to pick them up and couldn't see anything right glasses were totally wrong and they tried telling me my prescription had drastically changed in e weeks ...well did another exam and still waiting for my glasses they claimed my insurance hasn't sent the lenses it doesn't even make sense and at this point I don't even know if they will be right... And no they were not free i still had to pay a good chunk of money ...very frustrating ...they said it might still be 2 more.weeks of waiting read more

I wish this place was run a lot better than at present time because the doctors are very caring and competent, most of the staff is a whole different mess, they are rude and un-caring, they say they will call you as soon as RX arrives but you have to end up calling them and product already has been sitting there for who knows how long, my 3 week waiting for contacts turned into 6 weeks because they only ordered 1 eye instead of both, the irony, that they are just so nonchalant and just look at you and there's nothing you can do, or when they call you that your glasses are there and you go and pick them up and not only is not the correct pair, they belong to someone else, and they just say oh just come back in a few days they are not here, and then they call you to say that they were somehow switched and to come back because they are there, after I already spent so much time in the freeway leaving work early trying to get there before they close. I don't like the fact that their frames are never priced, staff doesn't wear name tags, and it seems they are always confused about what they are supposed to be doing,,, love the doctors but they need to really focus on training their staff for better costumer care and take responsibility for their errors and hold them accountable. read more

Brought my niece here for an eye exam a couple of weeks ago, the office is run down, looks too cluttered. We were taken to a back room to get her eye pressure checked and have pictures of her eyes taken, then we were led back to the waiting room and a couple minutes later we were called back by the female optometrist. First thing to come out of the optometrist mouth was "Oh she's going to need glasses", I asked her "how do you know that if you haven't even examined her yet?". She very rudely replied with "the computer tells me a lot". Well if the computer "tells you a lot" then what are you needed for? I was put off by her from that moment on, she performed a rapid exam 5 mins max were spent in the exam room, which is a cluttered mess. I will not be returning here ever again. Also the frames at this place are not marked with prices, which means that they can just tell you a certain frame is whatever dollar amount they see fit, so you never really know. read more

Came here on recommendation from a coworker. BUT save your time and find another optometrist office because they don't honor your appointment time. My appointment time was at 11:30 on Saturday. I arrived early, did my paperwork, and the receptionist was hesitant and said that the optometrist was a little behind. I asked her how long the wait may be, but she couldn't give me an estimate time. I tried to be patient/understanding that they may be running a little behind on seeing their patients, so I stuck around until 12:25. I tried looking around for frames, but even so they don't have a big selection to choose from. I asked again, saying that I've waited for an hour already. Another lady behind the counter said that I was next, and that it would be an additional 15 min wait. I see the optometrist come out around 12:40, and so I stand up thinking I was next, but the optometrist wanted me to wait ANOTHER 10 mins. I refused the wait and left. Absolutely ridiculous and no respect for my time. It was my first visit, and I really tried to be understanding and patient but they just continued to waste my time. I called up another local optometry office, and they were able to get me in for an appointment immediately, and got my eye exam/sunglasses order done in less than 1 HOUR. What's your excuse, Vision Max? 1/5 stars because the receptionist was nice, but I would give 0/5 stars for the ridiculous amount of time I waited to get a simple eye exam done. Never coming back here and I definitely won't be recommending this place to anyone. read more

Waited for my glasses they said they will call when it's in. Called on Saturday at 1:50 see if it's in, said yes it been in for awhile and ask why didnt they call me beforehand and let me know. Told them I need it asap when purchased and they didn't have the decency to do so. Went there at 2 it was closed, didn't have the audacity to let me know they closed at 2 wasted my time and travel. So now have to wait til Monday for the office to open. Total bs rather go somewhere else who has more attentive to their customers because this place doesn't! read more

I was recommended by a coworker to come here because they take our type of insurance that are company offers us. I just loved this place so much I scheduled my appointment about two or three weeks in advanced and came in on a Friday. I came prepared and already had all the paper work filled out as you are able to print it out online on their website. They quickly attended me with no problem and the optometrist that attended me was such a sweet heart and very communicative. It was nice that they explained what was going on with my eyes as well as what were my options. They also offer a variety of beautiful brand glasses such as Versace, Gucci, Ray-Ban, Michael Kors, Tiffany & Co., Etc. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone. We have VSP Premiere and my mother in law recommended we come here. My family and I have been coming here for about two years. They are friendly, professional, and will match prices from competitors (including 1-800-CONTACTS)! If you get frames and do not need anything fancy, like polished frames or bubble tint, you'll basically walk out paying only your copay. Transition lenses are also included in our insurance and it is free here! We usually arrive about 30 minutes before our time and if it is not busy, we are seen almost immediately. Came to Vision Max after a very upsetting experience at another location. Walked in without an appointment, asked if we could just browse their frames and they kindly agreed. Nice selection of frames. Ended up ordering for three of us and still my husband to go. Glasses arrived in reasonable time. My daughter loves her pair, my son is only 9 but he seems content and says they let him see without problem. Mine ended up working great for reading but not for my computer, I went in today to have them fix the problem and Debbie treated me as well as she did with our first visit, friendly and professional, resubmitted my order without any problem. I decided to come here for the first time in February to get an eye exam specifically for contacts because my prescription with target optical had expired and there was no longer a target optical near where I lived. This place is down the block form where I live and seems like a nice enough place from the inside. I am giving this place two stars because the female Dr. was nice and very helpful. She was the only redeeming quality about this place. I was fitted for contacts but didn't order a whole box because I still had a couple pairs left. I decided last minute to purchase glasses as well in case I ever needed them. I called yesterday at 11:41 AM because I ran out of contacts and wanted to order more. The receptionist seemed to be having trouble finding my information and had me on hold for about 10 minutes. She picked up and asked if she could call me back because they were short staffed and really busy. I am a receptionist myself so I was understanding and said yes. I waited a couple hours and still hadn't received a call, so I decided to call back at 2:26 PM. When they answered I explained that I had been waiting for a couple hours for a call back, she asked for my name and then put me on hold for about 5 minutes. When she got back to me she said that the person that had been helping me was on lunch and would be back in about 20 minutes. I asked her if she could just help me. She asked what this was regarding and I said, "I just want to order some contacts." She looked up my information as well and then asked if I had been fitted for contacts. I said that is what I had come in for initially and it should be in their records. She said she couldn't find it so I asked if they had any record of me at all, she said yes but just for glasses, nothing about contacts so she would have to look for my chart to see if the Dr. left any notes and call me back. I asked if she knew how long it might take because I had already been waiting for a couple hours and I had prior arrangements to be somewhere. She gave me attitude and replied that they were really busy and short staffed so that wasn't her fault. I WAS SO ANGRY BY THIS POINT. Again, I am a receptionist myself and I would never try to sit there and give lame excuses to a client about how it wasn't my fault that I couldn't get back to them in a timely manner. I asked if the Dr. was in and she said yes so I just decided to go down there myself. When I got in, there was literally ONE client in the building and THREE people working behind the counter. Two of them were searching through unorganized piles of charts trying to find another client's file. I am only 23 myself, but these people looked to be in their mid twenties and like they really couldn't care less. One girl looks at me and asks how she can help me, I tell her that I am there to order contacts and she points to the other girl and says "she can help you," and walks away. I sit down and after about 5 minutes the other girl asks if she can help me. I tell her the same thing I had told them on the phone, and she told me that they didn't have any records of me getting fitted for contacts so I would have to make an appointment to be seen AGAIN and then pay to get fitted for contacts. She asked If i wanted to make an appointment and I just left saying "I am just going to go back to Target Optical." Long story short, these people seem very unorganized and immature and should not be working in such a professional environment. Please do not waste your time or money with these people. Hopefully management will see all of these horrible reviews and make some serious changes to their staff. read more

Well I had been going to vision max for about 20 years since it was next to pavillions(yes that long ago) i really like Dr. Anderson, he takes his time checking you, but sadly the last couple of years I never see him, I guess you have to request him. His wife is also a dr there, but she rushes through the exam. They have lost my file and my sons file also. Some of the workers are nice and others are serious. My most recent visit was mediocre, the place was hot and stuffy inside and for some reason the wife dr didnt want to turn on the ac, thats the answer a worker told me when I asked if they could turn on the ac . Amazing customer service! Dr. Anderson went above and beyond and helped me tremendously. I broke my glasses after wrestling and messing around with my wifey and need them to drive and for school. It was late and everywhere my wife went was closed. Dr. Anderson made sure she left happy by looking everywhere for the perfect frames that would fit my lenses. He even went to the back office in search and successfully found the ones. Thank you Dr. Anderson, we have decided to make Vision Max our business for any future optometry service.
