Great service, very friendly staff, and reasonable cost! I've been here a few times already over the past few years and the staff and Dr. Nguyen are all very friendly. I called ahead of time and they easily scheduled my appointment for the next day. They kindly provided a contact lens case for me to use when I took off my contacts before my eye exam. Dr. Nguyen was quick and efficient with my eye exam and kindly answered my questions about LASIK since he's been recommending me to get it done while I'm still young. The staff was super friendly and patient when I was deciding on which pair of glasses frame I wanted. It's always so hard for me to choose a suitable frame, so I took a while, but they never rushed me. They have a wide variety of frames to choose from and plenty of mirrors to use while trying on the frames. I was also notified the next day that my glasses were ready for pick up already! That's super fast! My insurance covered the glasses, so I just had to pay for the contact lens exam which was $115 which is reasonable. read more

The office lady was nice but the other assistant was kind of cold and rude. The doctor has a very strong Vietnamese accent and he is very arrogant, also rude and unprofessional. During my eye exam, the doctor kept showing me the similar images between red and green and asking the same questions, then he suddenly recommended the contact lens. When I asked for more information on it, he did not answer, then suddenly stood up and violently squirted some liquid into my eyes. Getting nervous, I asked him what it was, he said it's just water but it took me two days to completely clean the yellow color off. For any questions I asked, he replied with a silence and moved his chair back and forth angrily. He never looked at me directly when he talked, as if he was reading his text book out loud, so I just let him talk for not making him aggressive. At the end, I have realized it he pretends to be angry to cover up his knowledge lacking and to stop me from asking more questions he did not know the answers. It's too bad, I wish he could be more honest by saying he did not know or not sure. Will definitely not coming back, and I feel sorry for him that he needs to act this way to hide his inability of being a real doctor. read more

Wow Dr Nguyen is amazing. He went above and beyond helping my mom. We went here to see if he can figure out what was causing my mom's blurry vision. It turns out what she had was extremely serious and I needed to take her to the ER ASAP or else she'll lose her eye sight. Dr. Nguyen managed to reduce the pressure build up from my mom's eye. This bought us some time to get to the ER and see the specialist. My mom received an emergency laser eye procedure. Both the specialist and the other Doctor doing the procedure said thanks to Dr. Nguyen quick action thinking she didn't lose her eye sight. Not a good dr to talk to, Coz when he says something i had to translate it to my mom for her to understand coz my mom don't really understand English. But this Dr. gave us attitude like he has low temper coz my mom can't follow him until I translate it to her. Today was my first time going here and it definitely won't be my last. The doctor was very thorough explaining my exam results and the assistant was great. There was a large selection of frames to choose from and I went with a pair of Ray-Bans. The place is very clean and everything was wiped down before my exam. Now I wait to pick up my glasses and I can't wait. Very satisfied with my visit to Pacific Optometry will be referring anyone here I know that needs glasses in the future. Best customer service! I went in because my right eye had suddenly become blurry and reddish so I wanted to see what was wrong with it. It was my first time so of course they ask for ID and insurance, but I didn't have my insurance card with me so Jihan went out of her way to call my primary doctor and other sources to try to get my member ID. She was super nice, very helpful, and I am really grateful for her help. There was another woman there too but I didn't get her name and she was also really nice. The doctor was great, too. I went to get a new pair off glass and the lady at the front desk was very rude, they were in my insurance network and the lady in the front keep telling me no no and didnt even check her computer once. Even after I called my insurance to confirm they still declined and wanted me to pay for every thing out of pocket. Might I just say I went to this place 1yr and an half ago to get my current glass and every went fine. This lady in the front was very rude and should be more knowledgeable about their practice insurance, instead of trying to scam people out of their money. read more

My wife and her family been coming here since she has been a kid. I have heard nothing but good things about this place from her. First time I came here they dint even know who I was and treated me and helped me with all my questions. They helped me picked a dope pair of glasses and have always been extremely polite and attentive. Don't listen to any of these negative reviews as they are not true! Dr. Nguyen is also super nice and has helped me understand what was wrong with my vision. Me and my wife used to live in Santa Monica and would drive all the way from there to visit them. My family and I have been coming to Pacific Optometry to visit Dr. Nguyen and his staff for about three years now due to a referral, and my goodness it was a great referral! We usually come here to get our eye exams done every year. It's quick, easy, and painless with the new technology this office uses. Just make sure to make an appointment by phone to have smooth transitions. Another note, call in to see if your prescribed glasses are ready to go - they usually have it done within a few days so it's really quick! The office provides a wide arrange of services such as regular eye examinations, eye care, and specialized eye exams for specific diseases. When entering the office, there are stacks of sealed cases on the walls filled with an assortment of glasses. Most of the glasses frames are from Gucci, Prada, Oakley, and much more. The cost of the frames aren't expensive compared to other offices I've been to in the past. The major bonus about this office is that they can take any frame you have and put on the glassware! This is great because if you shop smart at cheaper retail stores such as Walmart or Costco, you can save a lot of money and still get a great product! The glassware can be tinted through many choices. I've only looked at the anti-glare for driving and the poly-carbonate for scratch-resistance at a lighter and thinner lenses. I believe the office also can prescribe contact lenses, though I've never used them myself. Another tidbit about the office is that they do prescribe some eye solutions, but it's been a while since I asked for some so I'm not sure if they still provide this service. This office takes most insurances, but just to be on the safe side - call in and double check. The staff here are very friendly, helpful, and easy to handle. All the staff members are fluent in at least two languages (mainly English and Vietnamese). They always make sure that the customers and patients are satisfied before they leave the office and are always ready to accommodate upon returns. I remember a time when I wasn't satisfied of how the lenses felt when I put on the glasses and had complained about it. The staff at Pacific Optometry fixed the issues right away at the office and I couldn't be happier. Final Verdict: The office is very clean and bright with a wide variety of frames and lenses. Very pleased with my experience at Pacific Optometry. After a difficult time consulting with many different eyewear stores regarding contact lenses and not receiving good insurance coverage quotes, I called in to see if Pacific Optometry accepted same day walk-ins. The store was quiet, clean and had some really relaxing music on. The ladies at the store worked efficiently and politely, and even offered to call my insurance carrier to sort out some hiccups in the process (other places told me to make the call myself and then sort it out myself before consulting with them). The lady who helped me out with my contact lenses order was honest and truthful about the prices and features of different types of lenses, and helped me when deciding what lenses I should go for, according to my conditions and preferences. She acknowledged my budget from the start and respected it while working with me. I went from being frustrated with the process to finding a reliable shop where I will be returning to for future lenses orders! If I could give it less than one star I would. This optometrist office is a scam. I went in and clearly asked about pricing and what my insurance covered and this office continued to attempt to pressure me into additional services without being forthcoming about additional expenses. The main lady in the office was also extremely rude and disrespectful when I began to question pricing, She began to argue with me and it was to the point where it was extremely unprofessional. Also the frames are way overpriced, I have seen the same frames at multiple other retailers and offices for 50-70 dollars cheaper. Do not go here, and if you do make sure you continuously ask about pricing and services, because when they give you your total charge at the end and try to add on as much as they can hoping you don't notice or question it. read more

Ordered a Oakley frame and the owner said she charges $10 extra for shipping. Never heard of that before and she said I don't seem happy. I did not complain to her that I was not happy but its cool as I guess you know me better than I know myself. Also she said that the Oakley frame is shipped from Europe. As far as I know, Oakley is located in Foothill Ranch, California and I have been to the Oakley facility in Foothill Ranch many times. I guess this place is not a Oakley authorized dealer. Also she did not even measure my PD. Once I receive the glasses, I will update my review as to how it fits and if her guess of my PD is correct. My prescription is from Kaiser and have been with Kaiser since I was born so there has never been an issue with any of the prescriptions written by Kaiser. read more

So I had my very first eye exam ever this past Friday and it was a breeze! My siblings and aunts and uncles all come here for their eye care needs and referred me to come in. Very glad I did. The staff was very friendly and patient and the doctor was very thorough informative through the examination process. Although, I didn't have an appointment they were able to accommodate my "walk-in" exam. Nice clean store with many many options as far as frames are concerned. I ordered a pair same day and Monday (today) my glasses are ready for pick up. Keep in mind that I got the works on my lenses. Polycarbonate, anti-glare Transition lenses. I'd say that's pretty fast! Great staff! I wear hard RGP contact lenses and one of them had shifted and I was unable to get it out. I was also away from home so it was kind of an emergency. Luckily, I called this optometrist who was nearby and they had a contact lense remover/plunger available. When I got there I offered to purchase the plunger but the sweet lady didn't accept my money. If I lived closer to this optometrist I would give them my business in a heart beat because this shows that they are honest and kind people. read more

So rude! I called to ask them to fax a pricing estimate to my insurance company for the $70 contact lense fitting. They had already faxed this to my insurance 2 weeks ago and I confirmed it with my insurance company, however the insurance rep lost the fax. So I called again today and spoke to a different person and she says they do not fax anything or assist with insurance claims! I explained that the previous person I spoke with had already faxed this and she could just find it in my file.
