Beat optometrist office I've been to in over 10 years. I was beginning to lose hope that all optometrists were run by staff that did not care about their patients. I am happy to say that this office is wonderful. The staff are so helpful, tentative, and caring. Dr. Moriyasu is patient, listens, and makes sure he has covered all issues and questions. My prescription sunglasses broke this morning so I called Citrus Optometry. The office staff was very helpful. They take VSP insurance, which cost me $20 for my copay. I was able to see Dr. Steven Moriyasu this afternoon. He was professional and friendly. Service Glasses are double what I paid for 2 pair 100% better quality and service at Costco I was expecting them as soon as they came in I was wearing a pair that broke So I asked if they could call me as soon as they came in Never called me I called the next day and she said o yeah their here (wow) Frame is irritating back of my ear lobe glasses got scratched up Costco I got transitional and scratch resistance for less than what they wanted me to pay there a lot less. I thought my glasses weee scratch resistant but these are not I'm sure they me they were scratch resistance and they're not. I asked the girl why is Costco much cheaper than you guys , she said "Costco sells used frames low quality that's why they're cheap"but first handexperience this place gives you bad quality Costco100% better than this place. I regret so much every day when I put my glasses on going to that place. I paid for two pairs of of glasses Regular glasses and shade Regular transitional both scratch resistant for almost half what I paid at this place I 100% recommend Costco for eyewear read more

My husband and I have truly found our family optometrist!!! My husband was the first to experience and a visit and he absolutely loved the entire process. The wonderful ladies (Elizabeth & Judith) made it fun, fast, and simple from bringing to end. I was able to make the appt with such ease. 2016 Review (just posted in 2019).. The doctor was very friendly as well as the receptionist my insurance covered a lot of our names and they did set up a one week appointment to follow up before finally prescribing the correct contacts prescription. I like to say that the interior of the facility was very nice and cool leather couches with wood furniture with made you feel like it's a good Gentleman's lounge which is pretty awesome. My wife said that she liked the fact that they did all the preliminary exams which are not commonly done in many offices so we will be returning to this facility for our next exam. read more

This optometrist is the best I've been to so far (even when I used to have Medi-Cal many, many moons ago; I now have better insurance through my employer). I've moved to Long Beach a couple years ago and I still haven't found a good optometrist like him. It's a small little place, but has a great selection of frames and he is so kind, gentle, PATIENT!!!, honest, and easy going. He or his staff do not pressure you into purchasing anything you do not need. He may recommend, but won't force you. I'll be returning for my next visit! read more

I didn't know how close I was to such an amazing facility. I called and was asking around for a same day appointments. After a few calls and losing faith. It was only because my lenses were so scratched I couldn't see through them. I called over and I was put on hold, but it was very brief. My first thought was...oh great. But then This lovely friendly voice greeted me Judith with great customer service. Which is so HARD TO COME BY NOW, and I explained my situation and I needed a urgent appointment, she took down my insurance information. She said you can come in in at 4:30pm or now if you'd like? It was 4:17pm. I did not realize they were across the street from me. I went in and it just was phenomenal service. The doctor was very nice, thorough , great bed side manners and was full of reassurance, patience and confidence! I called made an appointment for my new prescription and left my frames and was out the door in under 2 hours the same day. Dilation is about a 30 minute process itself. That's exceptionally great service. The pricing was reasonable, especially because I got everything I needed and extras I wanted. They advised me it would ready in 15 business days. I got them by chance, in 5 business days and they were better then ever. Thank you so much to the staff and Doctor for the best experience at a doctors office I have ever been too! The best doctor! After going to countless optometrists, my prescription would constantly get higher and higher and eventually ended up with astigmatism. After coming for only about 2 years, my prescription is staying the same and my astigmatism has cleared! My eyes are finally getting corrected! Thank you so much! FYI my insurance is VSP. Looking for a new optometrist in the west covina, azusa, glendora area. I came across citrus optometry. Parking is easy. Office is clean and spacious. Nice comfortable sofas in the waiting area. Staff was decently nice. The optometrist was experienced and professional. I came for a contact exam, which was pleasant. And ended up purchasing my acuvue oasis contacts from here. Contacts had to be ordered but I was pick them up in less than a week. Overall good experience. read more

You can read up on the biography of Dr. Moriyasu on the webpage but it really falls flat to the extent of his care and treatment of his patients! Although it's a small office (I believe run by a staff of two or three) everyone has such professionalism and yet the smaller office does offer a more inviting appeal. The only downside is that because it is a smaller office there is a bit of a wait between the customers. This is only because you'll see Dr. Moriyasu talking with each patient going over any questions etc. He makes sure that all the patients feel comfortable with all the I've been to Lenscrafters and other eye glass clinics and I hate the feeling of being rushed or duped into buying extra crap I don't or want. Citrus Optometry has the complete opposite appeal and has the family-run vibe going for it. I came once when I had this wicked eye infection and Dr. Moriyasu took care of it without any problem! Plus random statement? Dr. Moriyasu totally has this radio DJ voice that makes you feel that much more comfortable. You should ask him to read you a bed-time story. read more

I have been coming to Dr. Moriyasu since he started his practice and was at Walmart; and I was 14. He is by far one the sweetest doctors I know. He has always remembered me and give me great service. I moved out of state for a few years and even when I moved back he remembered me. He always explains everything and give me the chance to really focus with my eyes. Dr. Moriyasu is an optometrist that I highly recommend. He checked my eyes thoroughly for vision, glaucoma, cataract, etc. I had lasik done in 2003 and I have monovision. He asked to see the glasses I have to make both eyes 20/20 when I'm driving in austere conditions. He did not push new glasses as my eyes were slightly changed. I had a wonderful optometrist I saw annually for over 30 years and when he retired I was disappointed with the one I went to 2 years ago. Bad customer service or covid-19 went in for normal exam. After exam was over technician rapidly rattled off an eyeglass prescription that I had 2 years ago and told me that we would go with that. I asked about no line bifocals. And I was told Progressive. I was told it would be 7 to 10 business days before glasses were ready .around seven or eight days later I called to check on status. At that time technician told me it would be 10 to 15 business days because Labs were backed up due to covid-19. I asked technician if they could call the lab, and find out where in the process my glasses were. Technician stated that they would and that they would call me back. But did not .So 2 days later I called back asked once again what the status of eye glasses. Once again the technician said they will call the lab and they would get back to me. About two hours later technician call me back and said it would be Wednesday or Thursday of next week. So on Thursday of that next week. I called once again to check the status of the glasses. I was told that there in. And I was asked when I would like to make an appointment to pick them up I said now. I arrived at Citrus Optometry call from the parking lot technician asked me what kind of car I was in odd. And that they would bring the glasses out to me. I've been wearing glasses for 32 plus years. I've always gone inside sat in front of a Mirror . frames were adjusted to my face. Frames and lenses were cleaned and then given to me. Technician told me that they could do the adjustments outside at my car. What is this some kind of a freak show everyone gets to see what I'm doing. I'm 260 lb I drive a Honda Civic you get the visual do you think that's going to work. So I get home I'm putting the glasses on and I keep noticing something can't figure out what it is. Take them off and look at them and there's four black dots on the lenses. I don't know what the four black dots are there supposed to be a new lenses in the frame. So it's up to you you decide poor customer service or covid-19 procedures. Because frankly if you can do all the other procedures inside the office the whole eye exam picking out frames and all that house that you cannot do a fitting after you made a purchase and they finally come in after 19 days. read more

The Citrus Optometry in Covina Ca had provided me with a very satisfying care of service. I did not have a vision insurance for one year. I was excited to visit the clinic with little knowledge about my coverage and expense. Let me tell you, this clinic has the class. Not only the interior design and high tech equipment of the clinic being classic, eye care provider has a class of excellent, honest, and fast care. They help me pick what glass frame fits me, but gave me a choice to pick what is best for me. They do not rush me nor be pushy. Dr. Moriyasu even found fraud on my eye glass that I had received from other Optomety. What make me want to drive 45 mins and come back here is that a smile of the receptionist, Leina, and Dr. Moriyasu, who will follow up and carefully reexam the fitting of my contact lense and eye glass in the exam room. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the eye contact and the communication from eye care people are very exhilarating.
