How is your eyesight doing lately? Squinting your eyes, having to hold a piece of paper 2" from your face? Driving 30 miles past your destination as you did not see the sign? Boy oh boy do I have the answer for YOU!!! Glendora Optometry which surprisingly is in...Glendora. I am old and falling apart so it is no surprise that my eyesight is taking a hit. I had noticed a change in my vision about 6 months ago. Time to head over to Glendora Optometry. This is a very cute and well-maintained office. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Sit down with Dr. Silva and I think the appointment lasted about 45 minutes. She was incredibly patient and kind. I wasn't quite as blind as I thought, but needed new lenses. Also needed new frames. Big shout out to Hector who is VERY honest when customer is trying on frames. There were a couple I tried on and thought they looked ok, and he said "no those aren't quite right." LOVED his honesty!! Pick frames. I go back a few weeks later and pick them up. Right away I can tell something isn't quite right with vision. But I figured eyes need a little time to adjust. I gave it two weeks and while it had improved, just seemed not quite right. Set up another appointment. Dr. Silva and I are really trying to figure out what the issue is. It wasn't a huge issue, but Dr. Silva was going to get to the bottom of it. We weren't really going anywhere and she said "tell you what, come in next week and let's try again." We really fiddled and finally came up with what the correction needed to be. I cannot emphasize enough how professional and caring this office staff is. Used to love going here to my eyes checked.. Dr. Lourdes is quite nice but I have issues with her getting my prescription right. It's never quite as good as Dr. Burt. It also takes an eternity to get lenses and the older woman at the front is not very pleasant to speak with. She is abrasive. Time for a new eye doctor search. Small, but very efficient office. The doctor was thorough in her examination. I only use reader glasses and came here because they were close by and had good ratings. They have a big selection of frames both high-end and affordable. This place is a hidden gem. I've seen it a million times. And would've never thought that when you walk in, it's a candy store of glasses. GREAT selection and even better staff Jose was my initial contact. When I called in. I was looking for Ray Bans for my new eye glasses without the nose pads. I had researched a few pair via the Ray Ban virtual website. I spoke with Jose and explained that my ophthalmologist office didn't have anything I like, and my insurance isn't covered with Lenscrafters. I gave him a model # and he reached out to their sister office and had them sent to him. He always called me back when he said he would. The day I went in, he greeted me, and also Dr Wong. She was just a wonderful & helpful. She pulled out 2 handfuls of glasses that she thought I would like. She was patient with me while I tried them all on. I wanted to make sure that I REALLY loved my glasses this year, because my last pair were TIFFANY & CO. and they were horrible. My left lens kept falling out. When I took it back to Lens Crafters to have them put it back in, they said my frames were bent. How did this happen? I just wear my glasses, I'm not boxing with them. I've been wearing glasses for 11 yrs. I've never had a scratch on any pair. This pair looks like I took a brillow pad across them. I got my glasses back under 2 wks, and I them!!! The lens are crystal clear. I've got the anti glare and it doesn't show the purple in the lenses. (This bugged me in my last 2 pairs). Thank you Jose & Dr Wong. This is the absolute worse Optomeric office I have ever been to!! First off they could not answer simple questions like: Question:How much do you charge for contact lens fittings? Answer: It depends Question: ok but do you have a base price? Answer: it depends on the service This place was ridiculous. I absolutely do not recommend it. I had to let my daughter to be seen by them because she was going off to college and we had no other choice. And everything that could wrong did. When I went to pick up her contacts they were the wrong ones. So they had to get re-ordered. I could go on and on but my point is don't go there!! It's awful. We now go to Covina Eye Care and they are amazing!!! Highly recommend their office. read more

I visited Dr. Silva on Wednesday, February 28 for my vision checkup. This was my second visit and it went just as well as my first! I ended up with a new pair of glasses that I love. Both Dr. Silva and the optician know their stuff and have a great sense of style so that the glasses are very high quality and look great on me. Dr. Silva is an excellent doctor. She provides the best patient experience possible, explaining both the what and why of things to me clearly and concisely. She is knowledgeable, patient, and kind. Her office is very clean, wiping down equipment between every patient. Her staff is friendly and knowledgeable as well. I thoroughly recommend Dr. Silva and Glendora Optometry to anyone who needs eye care. When I came on Yelp to provide a review I was a bit annoyed: Karen, I'm sorry, April, did not like the smell and thought that deserved a 1 star review. I don't know what she's talking about. There was no odious smell at either of my visits. I really can't recall any smell. Perhaps she was upset at a fellow patient's cologne? I gave 4 stars really because of the staff. The selection of eye wear is limited, specifically the designer glasses. I have been going there for almost 7 years now. The ONLY reason I go back is because of the fact that Marty helps me find the perfect glasses. Every year, I trust in her to help me find something that I love (regular and sunglasses), looks good for my face, and gets me tons of compliments. This year, the selection of designer glasses were limited and most of the ones I loved in the past were not even available (Jimmy Choo, Tom Ford, etc). If it wasn't for her expertise, I'm not sure I would find glasses here. Thank you again Marty...I'm already getting compliments on this year's glasses! I always tell them about you! read more

Unfortunately after going here all my life,I had a horrible experience and I suggest not to go here. I came in for a normal yearly check up and the doctor, she asked if I was getting contacts and I said no idk (since I was just there for my checkup) but I did say I was thinking about it so after asking her if the insurance covers it she said it covers most of it and I was only going to pay 100$ for my contacts which would be a pack of 90. Was not back so I said I would be okay to do that if my insurance covers most of it. After that was said she proceeded on putting eye contacts on me without asking me or telling me anything I just figured she was trying them on me or something anyways she leaves them on me and takes me to a guy who is going to teach me how to put them on and off and when I'm about to leave I'm being charged 60 $ for her putting on eye contacts on me and another 45$ for sitting with the guy for less than 5 min showing me how to put them on which I didn't even need help. That's not even all the most disappointing thing that got me upset is that I was not aware of all these charges but the 100 $ for the contacts if I liked them after the trial. Also not to mention I did ask to make sure my insurance was good before the consultation and during I kept asking the doctor if everything was being covered and stuff and never once was I told that I was going to be charged all of these extra things. Therefore I explained to the lady in the front desk and she even said and agreed "I know " and she proceeded to charge me either way. Therefore I'm never going back here again and sucks this place had to change to this new management. This is how they try to take advantage of people buy just not telling them until things are done even if I kept asking them. Not to mention I drive a good 30 min to go to this place every time and stay loyal. Please don't let this doctor (woman not sure her name but she is Asian ) take advantage of you. Also she hardly check me and did my exam it was a good 10 min. Didn't even take time to care for me she just wanted money. read more
