First I was super impressed with Dr. Paul's friendly demeanor. I'm a new patient and Dr. Paul treated me like a dear friend. His staff were super friendly and helped me on the phone to find the office. This office also takes my insurance, which is a big deal. I called on day one and made an appointment for the next day, super quick appointment. First impressions of the location, plenty of parking and the inside of the office, super clean and professional. After filling out some paperwork, Dr. Paul called me in within a few minutes of my appointment. I called first thing in the morning, with an irritated eye. They were fully booked, but took my number and called to squeeze me in a couple of hours later. Dr. Paul gave me so much of his time looking for the cause of my irritation. He solved my problem, gave me an eye exam, and the price was very cheap for the amount of time he spent. I walked in and there was three customers and three employees behind the counter. Apparently, and I'm only assuming this, there was an issue. Because it was the receptionist, the manager, and the doctor having a conversation among each other, when there are customers waiting. So, I waited, and waited, and finally took a seat and continued to wait. Finally after almost 15 minutes of waiting, I was acknowledged and asked how they can help me. Well, I was there to talk to the manager or doctor about an even. I was told, that someone would get back to me the next day. I'm still waiting for someone to get back to me. Well, after waiting about a week. I called and left messages, and I still yet to get a call back. Professionally, I think it was absolutely rude of them for not getting back to me, even if they had no interest. It's only common courtesy to get back to someone who is trying to get a hold of you. We have been going to doctor Grant Paul for many years because he is great at what he does. He always does a thorough exam and tells you what he sees and gives suggestion base on his experience in this industry. We moved out of state and have tried several different eye doctors and they are not as knowledgeable nor seem to care. I saw one doctor that didn't do a thorough exam but made assumption base on his 30 yrs experience, because of my age that is why my eye sight got worst. I have diabetes so glaucoma testing is a must for me, Dr Paul always test me. Although we no longer live in CA, we go back at least once a year and always make an appointment to see Dr Paul. We saw him a few days ago and he has the same bedside manners. FYI: The address at 1034 Arrow isn't mapping correctly for me (it's still mapping their old location), they have moved and is in the same strip as CVS and next to a gym that is across the street from the old location. read more

I have been a customer at Eye Care One since about 1990. I have poor vision and have always worn glasses that really magnified by eyes. People have remarked on this all my life. Remarks like, "wow, you have such big eyes". Not good at handling remarks like this. I needed to get new glasses. I walked into Eye Care One, and Mike, who is the greatest, looked at me and said "You don't need to wear glasses like that". He was right, he fixed it. My glasses are lighter in weight, magnification is still there but a lot less. This is the ONLY place to get glasses if you problems like me or if you don't. Great staff, Dr, Paul is excellent. Dr. Paul is amazing. Several years ago I abruptly started losing vision. I had a terrible experience with ophthalmology at Kaiser, as they couldn't figure out what was wrong, had a terrible attitude, and basically dismissed me. Dr. Paul was livid. He personally owned figuring out what was causing me to lose my vision and did not stop until he was able to find some way to help me. He ended up finding a legendary doctor (Dr Boxer Wachler) who was doing free vision screenings in LA, told me about it, and asked me to go. I did and was diagnosed with pellucid marginal degeneration and keratoconus. After that diagnosis, I was able to go back to Kaiser, and considering the icon Dr Boxer Wachler is considered to be by ophthalmologists, they immediately confirmed his diagnosis and have been attentive ever since. Dr Paul continued to advocate for me by giving me the exact questions I should ask Kaiser, the exact things I should tell them I expect, and what to report back to him so he can stay update on what's going on. Dr Paul is AMAZING!! He genuinely owns your vision problems as his own, and will not stop until he has found a way to help you. He really is the gold standard all medical professionals should aspire to. read more

Finally getting around to writing my reviews, I try to wait a while and not write in the heat of the moment to be as fair as possible on my reviews. Normally I would have givien this place a 5 star rating, they were great, I had been going here for years to get both my contacs and glasses. Okay so here's why in giving them a 2 star, I call them and speak to a women, I'm not certain her name but I wish I had gotten it, she seemed older, any who, I informed her that my last contact I opened was ripped and that I would like to schedule an appointment to get some more. She said the soonest available was a week out, I asked her if I could just come in that day and pick up a pair as I would much rather wear my contacts than glasses. She said NO! Just like that too, sheesh. I told her my situation and that I've been their pt. For a long time. She didn't care, said by law that she can't dispense any contacts to me because I hadn't been seen there since last year. I understand they have restrictions; however to give me a sample pair since they couldn't see me for over a week shouldn't have been such a big deal, right? Especially since there was no break in service. Sheesh. Anyways the doctor seems very knowlegable and he will refer you to a specialist if he wants to have your eyes checked further as my mother goes there as well. I havnt been back since that phone call as it just left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

The staff here are very helpful and friendly. They have helped me choose frames over the last few years and I have been very pleased with each set. Dr. Paul is outstanding! He tweaked and tweaked until my lenses were just right. I really feel that I get custom treatment whenever I visit them. I go to my Ophthamologist for a medical check, but I always get my glasses at Eye Care One Optometry. I am 22 years old and I've been going to Dr. Paul's office since I was 4 years old. My whole family also attends Eye Care One. I'm always taken care of there; Dr. Paul and his staff are like family to me. They are very personable. He will stay in the exam room as long as it takes until we correct my vision. One time I made the mistake of going to another optometrist and regretted it. I didn't get nearly the same attention or care- I was rushed through the entire exam and I felt like they kept asking me to buy more stuff that I didn't really need.
