Welp, I had an oopsie. I was parked at a business in a very tight spot. It was the last free spot,…read morebetween another car, a brick wall, a telephone pole, backing out directly into traffic. I had a bad feeling about it right away. And in the end, I was right--the telephone pole got me. :-( I grazed it while backing out, enough to do a noticeable ding. Nobody was hurt. I didn't damage any property of anyone else. Except for the bit of telephone pole lodged into my driver-side door. I shopped around online for a collision shop not far from home with decent reviews, and landed on Schmidt's. I liked how the majority of their reviews on Yelp and Google mentioned that they handle pretty much all of the insurance back-and-forth, plus do great work. I called them, and they could see my car right away, so off we went. After meeting with Schmidt's, we decided to leave my car there right then for them to do the work. The shop was clean. Everyone was very friendly. (One hrrrmmmppphhh, nobody was wearing a mask, but I was, and they stayed their distance.) I called my insurance agency to connect them with Schmidt's, and for the most part they communicated with each other, without me having to do much at all. It took about four or five days for the insurance to finalize the approvals, and another four days or so for Schmidt's to do the work. The nature of the work is a lot of applying, then drying, then doing that again, so I knew it would take a while. But when I picked up my car, the work was impeccable! No signs that my driver-side door was ever up-close-and-personal with a telephone pole. The paint was all blended just right to match the rest of the driver-side of the car, and my pinstripe was reapplied nicely, too. I have had horrendous luck with most automobile shops, still not having a good, reliable, trustworthy go-to mechanic. But when it comes to collision, if I ever need work like this again (and I sure hope I don't!), Schmidt's is definitely my go-to collision shop.

Then they send something in to corporate who sends you a letter, instead of calling you. Seriously? That's a lot of time for more damage to happen. A while back, the battery for my clicker to lock and unlock my door died, so I was manually locking and unlocking my doors the old school way, no big deal. But, recently, I had an issue with the manual lock where it would no longer unlock with the key. I needed to call roadside assistance to get in my car. That same day, I booked an appointment at West Herr Toyota in Williamsville for the following week. (The event happened on a Friday, and I got a Tuesday appointment!) I went online and they had an appointment that was after work hours that fit perfectly into my schedule. I arrived early to my appointment and Doug started on my car immediately. Timing here is important... I pulled up at 6:33pm for my 6:40pm appointment. My car was done and I was cashed out by 6:41pm!!! Now, of course not every appointment for your car is going to be as seamless as this, but Doug knew what he was doing! He fixed my door lock and put new batteries in my clicker and it was only $8.65 for the service and only 8 minutes of my evening. I was thoroughly impressed with the the friendly service, timeliness and cost. The woman who checked me in for my appointment was kind and the woman who cashed me out was equally as sweet. This team was amazing. I highly recommend this service department!

So..... 2nd time something went missing from my car during a service call. Also, have issue with…read morethings not put back as they were. Took my car in for oil change, regular maintenance, etc. Tech had to replace the SD card and something that was behind the glove compartment. In the pocket where the SD card is I have/had a couple pens, a little notebook, couple papers, small lotion and lip gloss. In the arm rest I had my phone charger. Attached and kinda glued to the inside of the glove compartment was my trash bag. Tech removed the charger and it ended up on the passenger floor. The trash bag was torn/removed from the glove compartment and left like that. He removed everything from the SD card spot and put everything back except the lip gloss, which is nowhere to be found. So this is the 2nd time an item went missing from my car during a service call. A big gripe: why don't they put things back the way they were after pulling things apart? It's not hard to put the charger back where it was, put the trash bag back on the glove compartment door like it was, and put everything back in the SD card spot. Why do they pull things apart and just leave them like that? Again, it's not the missing lip gloss (which was new and I paid $6 for) which is the main reason for this post - it's the principle. Once more, an item is missing from my car. Thought I would be a customer for life, and indicated that to them, as they treated me great when I bought the vehicle in 2024. Apparently the techs, though, are different. Last year an item got stolen - yes, stolen. It wasn't "misplaced" or "it just disappeared" as they indicated. "Misplaced" means it's somewhere" to be found. And nothing just "disappears" without it being taken. And this year another item isn't able to be found. I'm sure the tech had no use for lip gloss and I'm not saying he took it, but where did it go? Searched the car - every crack and crevice - and it's not there. $6 is a ridiculous price to pay for lip gloss anyway, but such is the economy today, so having to spend another $6 to replace it is just aggravating. Plus, whatever was done to fix that SD card issue wasn't fixed. So now I have to take it back again to hopefully get it fixed. Don't they test this stuff to make sure it's actually fixed???

Wow! This place was incredible…read more I had to take my dad's car to Buffalo Auto Glass because the driver side window was stuck rolled down. I called first thing this morning to see if they had any open appointments for them to look at it. They gentleman on the phone said to bring it over whenever I can and they'll have it done by the end of the day. They did not disappoint! They updated my mom on the progress of the car throughout the day and they truly did have the car repaired by 4pm! The price was very reasonable, customer service was friendly and the service was impeccable. I would definitely recommend Buffalo Auto Glass. My dad's car is now back on the road thanks to this team!
