Dr. Han was amazing, she really listened to my concerns, was very personable, and actually spent time to get to know me, unlike most doctors who are in and out. Susan the manager was also really passionate about her job and helped me pick two fantastic pairs of glasses. Although, they don't have name brands like Gucci, Versace, Prada. They have some designers I've never heard of that also have nice frames and I was able to pick something trendy. Between COVID and having an unreasonable stash of daily contacts, I put off my eye exam for longer than I should have. I really need new glasses, though, and had some urgency around spending HSA money that was rolled over during the pandemic. Scheduling was easy peasy - I made my appointment on the website and received a confirmation quickly, which included instructions on completing new patient paperwork online in advance. I received a text reminder of my appointment the day before. I was greeted right away, given a few additional forms to fill out, and then taken in back for initial testing. I waited in the lobby for a few minutes before my exam with Dr. Udesky. It was a brief wait and, honestly, the highlight of my day because I got to see how sweetly Dr. Udesky and his team interacted with the patient before me - a little girl who appeared to be four or five years old. She wanted her "eye pictures" to take home and they printed copies for her before sending her off with a fist bump. My exam was great and Dr. Udesky was friendly and warm. I asked a few questions about my current daily contacts, whether contacts or glasses would be better while staring at computer monitors all day, etc. He also gave me some helpful insight into my eye health relative to a medical condition and understanding long term care. I'd been on the fence about ordering glasses or going with an Internet retailer but, genuinely, Dr. Udesky offers competitive pricing (at least in this scenario where I was also committed to ordering contacts). Maria helped me choose frames and I'm excited for them to come in, particularly after years of being unhappy with my glasses from another retailer that bent and were misshapen almost immediately. She was knowledgeable, took my feedback into consideration, and selected the winning pair. I suppose I should mention that I don't have glasses or contacts in hand so this could change, but given how positive my experience was, I'm currently a happy customer and glad to support a local Northbrook doctor and his team. (For the record, I was also sent off with a fist bump and an elbow bump so that doesn't appear to be exclusively for the kids.) :)

I have really bad eyesight and my glass lenses are usually bottle thick but Focused Eye Care was able to get them to be super thin. My glasses are the lightest I've ever had them. This Buffalo Grove Walgreens Optical Team is outstanding and deserve recognition for their excellent service. First, I had an appointment with Dr. Snezhana Sabo (my childhood through my twenties I saw an optometrist Dr. Tabak in Barrington, IL, however he was too expensive for my budget. So, I went to Pearle Vision for a while- I honestly only went there for convenience. I did not particularly like or remember any of the optimists I saw there). I love Walgreens and when I saw they had a new Optical Team available at a Walgreens near my home; I decided to try it out. Let's just say, I will NEVER have to find another eye doctor again! Dr. Sabo was unbelievable! She was kind, friendly and made me feel comfortable the entire appointment. She was very well-educated and she had very useful knowledge on different brands of contacts (which was the main reason for my appointment)- that was extremely helpful! The appointment was very thorough, but not time-consuming. I'm very excited about finding a new eye doctor, Dr. Sabo! I have not found an eye doctor that I wanted to go back to (besides my childhood optometrist)...however; I enjoyed, trusted and liked Dr. Sabo so much that I will not being seeing another eye doctor from now on. At other places I've been to the technology seemed a little out dated but here everything is digital. It is such a nicely put together optical center with a great doctor and optical technician. Dr. Henderson and his staff have exceeded my expectations for a professional, caring and safe facility. His thoughtful implementation of Covid protections should allow anyone to feel as safe as possible during this time of Covid 19. Every person is interviewed before entering the office. Everyone has their temperature taken. It is mandatory to wear a face mask. Every chair is wiped clean before a person sits in it. Patients leave the building via a separate exit. His staff is wonderful. I was trying in my new contacts and somehow the lens dropped on the table and bounced onto the floor. The first Assistent tried to find the lens and recruited two more office staff to find the lens. The lens was clear which makes the hard contact lens almost impossible to find. I had given up , but they were successful!!! I have a difficult prescription and a previous experience of the optometrist giving up on me. Dr. Henderson is patient and exacting and has answered all my many questions. I can now sit enjoying my cappuccino and see clearly three blocks away.
