All of the staff were friendly as I waited, and during the first part of the eye exam. Dr. Margaret was so nice and informative. Reyna helped me pick out glasses and I'm so indecisive so it was nice that all the staff actually could give opinions and help me narrow it down! I came here to buy sunglasses. I ended up finding a pair of Raybans that I liked, and the salespeople were fine and friendly and helpful. The retail price at the store was $239. When I took my glasses home, I looked them up at Rayban.com for more information, and it said on the site that the price of the sunglasses was $169. That also was the price at the Sunglass Hut website, and other sites were even cheaper than that. I thought maybe that the price quote in the store was a mistake, so I called them up. They acknowledged on the phone that it wasn't a mistake, and that their prices are higher than what you would pay at Rayban.com, at the Sunglass Hut, or online, etc. So, if you don't mind shopping at a store that is unapologetic about their higher prices, this store is for you. Disclosure- I got a $150 gift card for $45 from youswoop for my purchase, so overall I made out ok. But obviously I'm not inclined to go back. read more

My wife and I have bought a combined 6 pairs of eyeglasses from Vision Boutique over the past couple of years and we have yet to have a bad experience there. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the selection is above average. The store is also very conveniently located for us. Every time I've gotten a checkup at Vision Boutique I have felt that the Optician took the time to do a thorough exam and completely explain the condition of my eyes. The only thing that keeps Vision Boutique from getting 5 stars from me is that the selections available for people with bigger heads like mine was a little bit thin. The staff was very helpful doing special orders of the my last 2 pairs since I wanted to get styles with longer temples. For most people the selection will be more than adequate, though. The store also accepts many forms of insurance, which makes shopping they convenient for those with a vision plan. read more

A small and sleek store in the West Loop. I stopped in one day and the guy who helped me was super friendly and helpful and scheduled a time with their optometrist (who was very caring). He took down my info so they would have it ready for my appointment. On the day of appointment, the girl who helped me out didn't know what she was doing. THEN she asked me all my personal health info, sicknesses and what medications I was on right in the middle of the room in front of other employees and customers! Great experience with VB. I first visited VB last year for an exam and for a years worth of contacts. I totally forgot about making an appointment for this year and I got a call as a reminder and was given an outline of what my vision plan covered....although I changed insurance plans. That was awesome. Dr. Helen did my exam and was very detailed. She didn't cringe too much when I told her exactly how often (or rarely) changed out my disposable contacts. Karina helped me find frames....I tried on like 40-50 different ones. She worked out the best value for me with insurance and even found how I could get $100 off of sunglasses. That was awesome. Great place....love supporting a local, neighborhood business.....although my own company owns a number of optical shops. Prices are in line for high end eyewear but if you are looking for $99 glasses, this isn't the place to go but I believe you get what you pay for. read more

I went to Vision Boutique because I was walking down the street and needed new glasses. I love the selection. They don't just carry the "lenscrafters' brands, they have unique style ones. I am blind without glasses and so trying to find a new pair is ridiculously difficult because I can't really see what I look like. These guys are on top of their game. I can confidently say that this place has the best customer service that I've experienced from any optical shop. I'm 34 years old and I've been wearing glasses since the 4th grade so that is saying a lot. The frames there are really unique and in addition they stock the classics. I ordered a prescription pair of Ray-bans Wayfarers and I really like them. They also carry a brand called 'IC Berlin' that is worth a look. They are expensive but the technology is super cool. They don't have hinges! Also, I had an old broken pair of designer sunglasses and they were able to fix them on site. I'm a fan! read more

I have been going to Vision Boutique for all things glasses, contacts and eye care for about a decade now and I love that Madison location. The service is the best in the city, particularly Tiffany, who has been there for about as long as I've been going to the store. Though I'll only stop by once a year or so, Tiffany always makes me feel like I was just there yesterday, it's nice to have a place where you feel like the people there actually remember you and are happy to see you and go out of there way to make sure your prescription and order are accurate and right on time. I would highly recommend Vision Boutique, and particularly I would recommend Tiffany and the Madison location. The doctor was very nice and thorough. He talked through my eye history to make sure he understood my needs. They have a machine that takes a picture of your eye which was pretty cool. Josh helped me select glasses that fit my face shape. I've never had this type of service before and I'm really glad they take the time to fit your needs and budget. I even popped into the storefront unannounced a few hours before my actual appointment to scope out the frame choices and was helped right away. I spent more than I wanted (about $400 for a pair of Oliver People's and glasses eye exam after using VSP insurance) but I do feel like I received a quality eye exam and a great pair of glasses that will last me a few years. I've never bought designer frames before only cheap no name ones, but these new ones are much more comfortable than the cheap ones. They also mailed me a hand written thank you note saying that I can come in anytime for free adjustments. A nice touch. read more

Extremely helpful and nice. They opened the store 30 mins early for me on a Saturday before I left on a trip. I've been to my fair share of bad optometrists over the years and the doctor was very patient with me even though sometimes there isn't any difference between 1 and 2 or 3 and 4. I'm very pleased with m experience! Thanks to the woman working the front desk, I was able to find the glasses that I wanted. I can't remember the name of the doctor who performed my eye exam, but she was also great! Very informative, professional, and polite. I also liked that they call and email you reminders for your appointment. I had to reschedule several times because of my work schedule, but they were very accommodating. The only downside for me was it was a bit expensive (I'm a broke college student and had to pay for everything). But thankfully my insurance saved me a ton of money. read more
