What a great experience. I was turned on to this salon by several of my co-workers who swear by the hands of the employees here. I phoned to make an appointment and gave the chick on the other end, an idea of what I was looking to do - and the moment I said short and sassy, she immediately hooked me up with James. When I arrived, the man who greeted me as James had a wicked cool mustache and leopard print hair. I remember thinking, "this is going to work out just fine". From the moment I sat down we began chatting it up like we had known each other for years. None of that small-talk BS; which leaves you feeling like you just stepped out of an interview. He took my long hair, and whipped me back into shape with a short and sexy bob meets pixie. His execution of what I wanted was flawless, and I couldn't be happier with having found James. I will start by saying that Wendy has done a great job cutting my hair. But I see that I am not the only one who had problems with Nicole. I asked to get my hair darkened a bit (about like Marishka Hargitay's - had pics) and Nicole turned my hair so dark I looked goth and the whole bottom half of my hair was solid black (almost like I had my hair black dipped). It wasn't until I was home in my own lighting that I had the full brunt of the color mistakes. When I tried to talk with Nicole about it the next day (I was very nice and patient - I'm not very confrontational on things like this) she was rude, argumentative and downright combative. I had to take pictures of my hair on my phone and text them to her until she would believe me. Then she told me there was nothing she could do. It took multiple washes with Tide and about 1.5 months of daily washings before the color faded down to what I had asked for. I don't let anyone at Visible Changes touch my color anymore. read more

This is my second time going to Visible Changes for a dyeing, and let me say I am utterly disappointed. I had asked for a delicate ombré into a medium color. They ended up coloring half of my hair into a very faded version of the color I requested. It had not occurred to me until I was in the car and headed home that they had completely missed a few spots, making it look even more faded and old. Not only was the color job disappointing, the price was outrageous! They had said over the phone that the starting cost to be 130$, then once I was in the chair it changed to 160$-200$, then ended with a whopping total of 240$ (I only had color applied. No cut, no style, just a dye and blow dry). I nearly cried whilst walking towards my car due to the disappointment of the color and amount paid for it. Never going here for anything again. read more

I love getting my hair cut from here I admit... But as far as hi-lights NO WAY TO EXSPENSIVE! $235 for a few hi-lights I should have asked beforehand how much it was gonna be... But I didn't plus she told me that I needed a deep conditioner or that I had to have one wich is like $35 and I already had the conditioner.... NEVER AGAIN OVER CHARGED THE HELL OUT OF ME! :( looked good but not WOW... But them saying you have to have a deep conditioning treatment is BS that's where they get you.... read more

This is absolutely thew worst haircut I have ever had and it will be months before it grows out enough to fix. I walked in with healthy wavy hair down to the middle of my back. Asked for a past the shoulder length shag. Walked out with a god awful barely touching my shoulders barely layered (except for the chopped up back of my head) 1980s Bob haircut. At no point did I ask for the "my life is over, I'm barely even a woman anymore makeover special". I can barely tie it into a stumpy ponytail. I could have gotten a more stylish cut if I'd asked a Meth head to hack at it with an armpit razor. It's absolutely awful. And I'm stuck with it. I don't know what to do other than invest in several hats. Every time I look in the mirror I get angrier and angrier. I'm seriously thinking of going to a printing place and having them make me a t shirt that says " I got my hair f*cked up at visible changes". Carl, there's no hair left for you to fix. It's the kind of haircut douchebags five old ladies before they stick them in a nursing home to die. Let's just say that Red is no longer my favorite color! After a couple bouts of home coloring gone wrong, my hair was a vibrant fuchsia red! I called VC and they told me to come right in. 15 minutes later I was there and met with my colorist Julie. She explained to me that red is hardest color to correct and explained my best options to me. With the help of Nicole, they did their magic and lifted the bright red out of my hair and took it down to a more work friendly reddish copper. These girls are amazing and I didn't feel judged or ridiculed because of my home coloring mistake. I will definitely be back to let Master Julie work her magic and get me to that coppery blonde color I so long for! The shampoo/assistant Jennifer was a sweetheart as well and was able to share laughs with me even though I was an emotional wreck! Thank you Julie, Nicole and Jennifer!! You girls rock! read more

My daughter received a very beautiful hair cut that suits only an adult. She typically wears ponytails, which went from thick to thin due to the stylist cutting off way too much. With a blowdry and curl, her hair looks layered. But when it's washed or unstyled, you can see the hair was cut to the length just passed her shoulders on the top half while the bottom half of her hair is near waist-length. When her dad took her into the salon, her hair was thick waist-length. At 11 years old, she's become more interested in her own hair length as she's becoming more interested in her grooming as she's still learning. So, she expressed to the stylist that she did not want her hair cut. Between her dad and the stylist, it was determined that her hair would be trimmed of split ends. That was in September. To this day, she expresses that she'll be glad when her hair grows back. She often looks at her hair in the mirror upset because of how awkward her cut looks with top half of hair just passed shoulders and bottom half near waist length. It's considerably different from the length she was happy with. I do not recommend this place where her dad spent lots of money that included over $200 on products after she received a hair cut that can only good if the child is wearing a grown-up looking hairstyle. read more

I had gone to this Visible changes before and every time I would make an appointment I would always ask if they had a stylist that was comfortable and had experience doing a blow out on African American hair. They would tell me yes and book my appointment, and every time I would go, the "Master" stylist would always find a way to mess up my hair. It seemed as if they were scared of my hair. I kept going back, thinking that It wasn't a huge deal and that I would eventually find a stylist that would do it just they way it should be done. Unfortunately this last visit on Halloween, will be my last visit. The stylist did a horrible job and I had to complain to the manager who asked another stylist to fix it. She was also not seasoned in my hair texture and could not fix it, but I tipped her because she tried. I did not pay for the service because no service was done. Don't go to Stephanie for color. She is supposed to be a mid-level "chemical specialist," but she really had no idea what she's doing. She kept having to ask the guy next to her what to do. I told her what I wanted, and she got it wrong - I have hazel eyes and olive skin, so I absolutely CANNOT do ash shades. (The most basic of cosmetology students should know that.) Lo and behold, that's what I got. She agreed to re-do it the next day for free, and it's still not what I wanted. I showed her multiple pictures, and somehow she still managed to get it too light and added brassy highlights, which I also did not want. It doesn't look remotely like the pictures. It's not dark enough, not shiny enough, not dramatic enough. I don't wear jewelry - my hair IS my accessory. One of the girls upfront with the purple hair recommended her, but that's the last time I get a get a recommendation from someone who doesn't actually use that person for color. I told the lady at checkout that I was still unhappy, but I refused to let Stephanie do it again. They didn't offer to give me a free correction with another stylist - not even a discount! If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had at a hair salon! At first I asked for ombré but they told me I could not get that because apparently my hair was "to short" which at the time was a little past my shoulders. So they insisted I should get highlights. I only saw the guy who did my hair for about 10 minutes, never saw him again. He was in the back fooling around with co workers. And when it was time to wash my hair, they had a girl in training do it for him. I spend more than 300 dollars here. I ended it up fixing it elsewhere, where I was able to get a beautiful ombré. I've been going to visible changes for a long time. Everyone that works there is always so nice and really make me feel like I'm a vip. So far though I haven't found anyone that I really connected with enough to request them for future appointments, except today. Alicia K cut my hair and she did an exceptional job. Not only did she listen to what I wanted and make my hair look amazing but she also was a great conversationalist. She also gave me some tips on how to get my hair to look less frizzy and I really enjoyed my entire appointment. I love her and if you haven't found your one true stylist I recommend trying her out. I also had my hair colored and my colorist did an amazing job. She took my sloppy grown out half blond half brown hair and added highlights. It looks amazing and was everything I wanted. She was very knowledgeable and good at what she does. (I'm so sorry I forgot her name, but she's the one with the awesome natural curls that are dyed blonde). This past Saturday I visited the salon for the second time. My color turned out great! However, the stylist my appointment was with for a cut/style was MIA....I waited for a good 20 minutes....ultimately, they put me with another stylist. I told her what I was looking for....cut off an inch or two (freshen up). However, I ended up with layers and several inches gone. This is the worst haircut! I have tried flat irons, curling irons and natural. Nothing works!! I was so nervous about going to this salon, but had a good experience the first time. Now I will have to wear my hair up for the next several months until these horrible layers grow out to a length where I can even things out (at a different salon). Horrible front person and a person that is said to be a manager. It always amazes me that businesses hire people that are so unprofessional but the turnover is high and always has been. Bad and rude attitudes. It would be nice to have someone actually be grateful to get business rather than act as if they are giving their time and services for free. What good does having an attitude do for someone who is the face of their job? It doesn't solve a thing. It just makes them look unprofessional and trashy. I had been to this Visible Changes before a couple years ago to get corrective color done for some wretched highlights, and they did a great job, so I decided to go back again, and was not displeased! I was able to get in the same day, and had a really nice chemical specialist. I believe his name was Bryan (I'm horrible at names). Sweet guy with green hair. He even kept my son entertained during the 2 hour process. I'm very scared when it comes to getting my hair done, but he put me at ease, and it looked great! Lots of blond was put in my hair without it looking like a bleached out mess. It's a little pricey, but worth it! My hair is almost mid-back and was $115 for the highlights, and $26 for the blowout (that part was a bit extravagantly priced, but I dealt with it). Definitely will go back! read more

I went to dye my hair and my hair color did not turn out the way I wanted at all. My hair had a tone of red and after trying to explain to my stylist it wasn't the color I asked for I wanted to talk to the manager, she did not help at all instead she tried to convince me it was the color I wanted and took me out to where it was sunny and said it was just the lighting. I was really not pleased and they did not give me any money back or off. Other than that I got a haircut with Simon and he did an amazing job read more

So after I got the reply from VC management, I sent them an email explaining that i just want my black hair back. They called me the next morning asking if i can come today to fix my hair however i wanted it to be. I was happy and nervous at the same time. They instead insisted me to come back and swore to make me feel comfortable at best. Even after booking the appointment, i was hesitant to show up since i was afraid they would damage my hair and it'd be awkward, etc. When i came there, i felt like everyone was waiting for me (which was terrified). The manager came and apologized for my last experiences. When I saw Julia, I was super happy that she is the one to color my hair. Because in my last visit, while C was doing my hair, I saw Julia did an amazing job on her client, and she was very fun and polite compared to people around me at that time. So yes, i was happy to know she would help me this time. They made sure the colorist who did my hair last time would not be around so I could tell them how i felt and what i wanted to fix. Julia gave me some suggestions and consultant on fixing my hair, but i was not a fan of the ombre/balayage highlights anymore, so i suggested her to do one color for me. Then we agreed on a brownish or red-ish color. Like i witnessed last time, Julia gave me a pleasant customer service. When i was done with coloring and moved to shampoo and conditioning, i was scared that i was going to get another horrifying detangle process like the girl with the purple/blue hair gave me last time. However, thanks to Julia who brushed my hair very carefully while dying my hair, Vanessa gave me the most pleasant shampooing ever. She also conditioned my hair and gave me a relaxing massage. I got a blow dry and simple style for my hair by Neybraska. Julia came to me and asked if i'm ok with the new color. It did not cover all of the ash brown/blonde highlights, but i kind of like it that way (brown, red and some hard-to-see highlights). While waiting at the check out, I saw the manager ran back and forth grabbing stuffs when I tried to talk to her a bit before i left. I was like "humm, they forgot me already" lol (as it was so busy last night-23/12) Then she came to me, put all stuffs she just grabbed in a nice bag and gave it to me. I was more than surprised. She gave me a sincere apology (again) and thanked me for coming back, wishing me to keep coming back. As you can tell, I left the store with a big smile on my face. First, I did not expect to get a whole new color (instead of touch up on previous color). Second, I did not expect to receive such sincere apologies from the manager. I definitely come back, and definitely book Julia whenever I want to color my hair and Wendy (last review) to cut my hair. I wish all stylists are polite, fun and talented like these two. I was NOT IMPRESSED! Walked in with blonde hair, wanted ombré and walked away with ashy green hair and was told it was an illusion. I explained what I wanted and the stylist did what she wanted. Stated she couldn't lighten my ends with bleach because my hair was damaged and going to break off which was funny since I have pretty coarse thick hair naturally and have never had an issue with my blonde or bleach for that matter . I explained my hair is pourous and will grab onto any color if she touches my blonde and she disregarded me like I was an idiot. Ran the brown ash color down to my ends and I ended up with nasty mop water colored hair. Not to mention she toned down my blonde ends. There was a sweet girl and manager who tried to help and they also said there was nothing more they could do besides me washing it out with a clarifying shampoo. I appreciate their help and concern. I ended up going to Toni and Guy and they lightened my hair like I asked and it looks amazing. They were on point with their color correction and bleaching not one strand was ruined and my hair felt the same as it always does. Long story short: I have had mixed experiences with this place in the past, but during my last visit they ruined my hair and charged me almost $400 dollars for it. Save your hair and your money and go elsewhere. I have been coming to this location periodically for the past few years. The first time, I had a disappointing ombré experience. I should have been smart and stopped there, but I kept coming for the occasional haircut because the location was convenient. Now I've previously visited twice this year, both for color treatments with really great results (In January with Julie to get full highlights and green color, then last month with Alyssa to take the green out. I also had an amazing, super enlightening blow dry & style with Sky. She is super sweet and a wealth of information). Anyways, I went again this week hoping to get my roots blended into the rest of my hair so I asked for Julie since she did my highlights. We discussed what I wanted and looked at pictures, and I told her many times that I didn't want to add too much dark because I am looking to do a pink balayage in the future. She said that she would lighten the ends of my hair more and blend my roots out a little bit to achieve this. I said this was fine, and we spent about three hours doing that. She had to keep leaving me mid-process to take care of other clients, which I wouldn't mind if the result was good. Anyways, after the color is all done and some confusion at the front desk as to who is supposed to cut my hair is sorted out, I am sat down in Tina's chair. Tina seemed rushed and impatient and ready to leave. She had her purse on the whole time and barely looked at the reference photo I brought in for my haircut. She pulled really hard on my hair the whole time and did a mediocre job blow drying it with the round brush, but I had been there so long that I didn't want to make a fuss so I could go home already. So Tina finishes and I am checking out my 'new' color only to see that my hair looks almost exactly the same as before - I can still see exactly where my roots end and my highlights begin, and the bottom of my hair doesn't look any lighter. Upon further inspection there were also weird patches of my root color all over (they looked kind of like cheetah spots). So I mention this while I am checking out and Julie comes to the front offering to fix it for me. I show her more pictures and she says she will bring my root color down further to blend it into the rest of my hair more. I say this is fine because that was the only way to cover the weird patchiness. When she was done, yes, my roots blended into the rest of my hair. But now most of my hair is my root color, which is not at all what I wanted and really jeopardizes my chances at going pink later on. I will just have to grow my hair out now before I can do that. The worst part is that I paid almost $400 for them to mess up my hair, since ombrés all start at 150 there (I also bought about $80 worth of Paul Mitchell products, but the rest is from them) - it is damaged from the bleaching she did that you can't even see anymore. I also paid $60 for two different hair treatments that Julie said would help repair my hair after the bleaching, but since she had to redo my hair and wash it again they didn't help at all. I told the front desk that I was unhappy but they did not offer me any discounts for their mistakes. So thank you, Baybrook Visible Changes for a VERY expensive lesson. I was so excited to schedule and appointment considering I hadn't been to A salon in over 5 years. They needed my card info to save my appointment. I went in extremely excited. I was going to get my hair ombre when I was already very light blonde. After 3 hrs of work on my hair to just add brown on top and toner to lighten the rest. I got my hair blow dried and stopped the lady immediately! I had black on top grey on lower layers then Orange! I then balled my eyes out when I saw I looked like messed up calico cat! Manager told me to come in the next day to fix it with a pro hair artist. When I left my hair wasn't as grey/ orange but my hair was like elastic. They then proceeded to charge my card on file over $250°°!!! Will never go back. Visible changes for sure! My 10 year old sister could have done a extremely better job.
