I'm giving Visalia Cyclery Two Stars because I have some pity, and feel bad giving them One star even though they might be fitting of such a low score. I recently moved to Visalia in February and it Is now August. I've been to Visalia Cyclery three times and it was three strikes for them. The first time was for a 700c tube and since I was new in town, some info on good places to ride my road bike. They were slow to recognize I was waiting at the front counter, and when I asked for trail maps or somewhere to ride they had absolutely no knowledge of places to ride. No maps, and seemingly no experience. Sold me a Bontrager tube for MSRP. Second time I went in was to ask how much a derailleur adjustment on my 2x9 Felt TT derailleurs would be. Once again they were slow to get to me and quoted me SIXTY DOLLARS. Are you serious??? I'm from Ojai and I usually pay fifteen there. So four times the cost for the same job???? They also tried to tell me my felt was made in China, even though it is clearly not, and says so on the frame. My last time was for another tube, and once again they were slow, unhappy, and unfriendly. My roommate who is new to cycling went there to possibly buy a mountain bike and said they tried to sell him a hybrid even though he consistently said he was looking for a 29er. He left unhappy as well. If Visalia cyclery were the only store in town for tubes I might go there. But there are better shops with nice employees who are more knowledgeable and care. I hope you get better Visalia Cyclery, but for now I shall not return 1.5/5 stars read more

As a avid mountain and road cyclist, I choose Visalia Cyclery as my go to bike shop for all of my cycling needs. The workers are friendly, the mechanics are experts at their craft, and every employee has lots of experience with all kinds of bikes. When you walk into this shop you will immediately feel like you are in a family friendly environment. There are kids bikes on the right and bikes for mom and dad on the left. And you can find the sport specific mountain and road bikes on the far walls. Another eye catcher when you walk in is the bike shops featured bike on display with many other of their products. The employees and mechanics now what they're talking about. If you're just getting into the sport, Jessie or Byron will happily give you suggestions on what you should by for your level of experience or activity. They also will personally give you a tour of what bike they think will suit you best. They make you feel very comfortable and educated with what you are buying. I have had many tune ups on my bikes by them, and every time I've gotten the bike back feeling like new, and feeling just like I bought it. So wether your looking for a local bike mechanic or looking to get into the great sport of cycling, Visalia Cyclery is the go to place for all your needs. read more

I have been a customer of Visalia Cyclery for 20 years, and purchased a few bicycles from the business. They have always been great at completing tune ups on those bicycles free of charge. Recently I had a relative from outside the area bring me a bicycle needing repair. I contacted the staff at Visalia Cyclery looking for parts. They had all the parts needed to make the repairs. I was able to make the repairs myself. I did have a few questions about a few repair options and the staff gave me advise. The customer service at Visalia Cyclery has always been excellent and an example for other businesses. I recommend going to Visalia Cyclery they are local and will earn your business. read more

What a great experience. I bought a new bike there and picked it up on a Friday. That Saturday I had an issue with the bike and took it in at 10 AM not expecting to get it back until the following week. at about 2 PM they were calling me saying that my bike was ready to go. They apparently had the new parts on the shelf and took the liberty of expediting the repair. I can't say enough about their customer service. it's top notch and I won't be going anywhere else. They were really helpful and good shop rates on fixing up my bike that I had wrecked pretty bad definitely could've quoted me a lot more. While I was there started looking around and they had just put the Stumpjumpers on sale. They didn't push anything on me just let me look around so I wound up finding the exact bike I would want for 30 percent off. So new bike and a back up bike now very happy! Really good bunch of people in that shop rarely find shops this good. read more

I recently bought a Allez Sprint Comp as I just grew out of my old race bike, they were able to get my the bike and a set of carbon wheels for a reasonable price as they can get very pricey. The staff was friendly and helpful. I got the bike within a very reasonable time frame and it works perfectly. The shop is clean, had clear rules about social distancing and took a number of precautions to protect the staff as well as the customers. Will be going back soon! read more

All the staff have always been helpful and patient, answering all my questions, and providing any information I've needed or asked for. so I went in today and asked a couple basic questions and the gentleman that helped me was rude: this is the 2ne tike this guy has helped me and both times was not very helpful, seemed to have an attitude and acter lIke I was interfering with his conversation. The customer service could be better. I've been in here multiple times with subpar experiences. My teen went in yesterday to buy a bike, couldn't even get a look his direction (little did they know he had 500 cash in his pocket). He eventually purchased but the lack of help was disheartening. 3 stars for inventory and pricing tho. read more
