I'm usually a fan of Dick's Sporting Goods, but not so much, when it comes to the Visalia location. The store is the typical DSG with layout, merchandise, and branding. I came here a couple of times, but would rather shop elsewhere. When I go in, I know what I am looking for in my running shoes and equipment. It's a good thing that I do what I need , because customer service at this store is pretty much non-existent. Three stars for the merch, but zero for customer service. read more

Masks were worn by workers! The store is very clean, organized and well taken care of. I needed to get a new arm band for the step counting at the gym. The workers were very kind and welcoming. I bought a Nike arm band and added it to their rewards program with my cell number. The worker that checked me out was very nice! I bought it and left. Review is for Curbside: Ordered a treadmill at the Fresno Location early Saturday morning (stating they had 3 in stock) when the store opened my order was canceled saying it's out of stock! Lucky visalia had one left and I immediately ordered it less than 1 hour later my order was ready. Drove 45mins parked at the the curbside and checked in with my email confirmation. The instructions were easy to follow. Opened the trunk of the car and we waited about alittle over 10 mins looking back at the entrance to see if anyone was coming. I was getting alittle impatient and decided to call instead there was an automated message set up and I was was following the prompted instructions someone was coming with a large package headed towards my car. The guy was nice and carefully put my order in. Overall it was a good experience I just didn't like the wait time when I was the only customer for Curbside on top of already having to travel almost an hour. read more

Had over $1,600.00 in cash on me to buy a brand new Duck Gun. I'm huge into duck hunting and finally saved up enough to buy a respectable firearm. Waited at gun counter for 15 mins and no one showed. I pressed the button for service several times and nothing. Now 30 mins went by and my buddy even told the clerk up front....45 mins go by and nothing. I answered the phone BEHIND THE COUNTER and had 3, long conversations with customers attempting to speak with a clerk in the firearms department, telling em all to go to Sportsmans. Not even Loss Prevention came by to tell me to stop or get out from behind the counter. Very poor customer service. I went in to buy indoor soccer shoes for my kids and the same pair that were on sale online but the store did not want to honor that price. Also had a difficult time finding those specific shoes and was "helped" by 3 different failures they would call sales associates. Sickened by their "sporting good" title with morons working here. He threw pens on the counter and was frustrated when I didn't the safety instructions ,before releasing the gun, right the first time. Please do not shop here, i purchased a mountain bike online and it broke after riding it twice, due to COVID-19 i was unable to return or exchange because that is what they told me over the phone and their return policy was extended to 90 days, went to return it because it broke and the manager said all sales on bikes are final because they are selling alot of bike, dont know how that makes since, but i guess i lose 200 dollars plus another 40 bucks on amazon to fix it myself so its not a total waist, still pisses me off i only got to ride teice before it fell apart will shop mom and pop stores from now on so i dont get the made in china crap they sell at big chain stores read more

When I always shopped at local store, it is well kept and organized. Do have to ask doe assistance every time, but at least there not there bugging you every 5 minutes and just took my time readying informations and researching the right item. Dick's is a place that is either good or bad. It depends on who you get. I have used their coupons for years. Never restricted. I have purchased over $500 of product in 5 purchases of $100 each. The other day the refused my coupon on more product I've purchased before. Most of the people thank me for my purchase and happily take my coupon. New clerk refused. I wish there was uniform response. Also the clerk acts like it is their personal money. They would rather lose a $100 sale over a $10 coupon. Get a uniform policy. Nobody smiles at you are asks if you need help or even says have a great day. When asking for a type of shoe they had, they pointed their finger and said I might find some on the back wall. I wanted to return 2 boxes of golf ball I received at Christmas and was only offered $1.70 per box. They are for sale on there floor display at 3 boxes for $10 dollars. I know the person paid $30 dollars for three boxes. This return policy just said to me that I will not shop Dicks again. This is also the Company that is going to eliminate there Hunting and shooting departments. I worked in retail for 38 years never ripped off a customer like this. I would give 0 stars if I could based on customer service alone. I went in to purchase an exercise bike,I had already looked online so pretty much knew what I wanted. I walked around the display, tried out the exercise bike, walked around the display again waiting for assistance from one of the 4 employees who were standing approx 10 feet away in the same department. When two of them made eye contact, I stood staring at them from the display, yet made no effort to leave their socializing session I decided to leave. I have had rude service in the firearms department, minimal service in general sporting goods and now zero service in the exercise and fitness department. If there were no employees close by I could understand walking to the front to ask for assistance but when there are 4 employees within speaking distance? Hi friends, I rarely post about things in a negative or political manor but there are a couple of things that I do hold dear and that is our Military and Police, my husband is a veteran and my son is an officer and I am very proud of both of them. The reason for my post today is that we do shop at locations that offer veteran discounts, if we need a service, we will pick the one that does offer just because we feel that they are supportive, not everyone offers it and that is ok but to offer it and take it away is just not right. Dicks sporting goods is one of those, we had a card at our local store for the discount and when we took our purchase up to the register, they bluntly said that we no longer honor that so they still own the merchandise we were going to purchase. They do not offer a discount on a national level but individual stores do and that is fine, my whole point is that offer it or you don't and if they no longer want to honor it, that is their privilege but it is also my privilege to share this with you and we will no longer be shopping at Dicks. read more

First time going to dicks. Last time too. I never realized how nice big 5 customer service until i went to dicks. I came to buy ammo that was on sale. Waited about 5 minutes with no "I'll be right with you". Finally was asked what I needed by a tall male employee. Told him I was looking for the sales. Said he was all out. Then continued with what ever he was doing that was more important to him. He started helping others before even finishing my service. I had to ask him if they will restock soon. "Not before the sale is over, if that's what you're asking". After that, he began writing paperwork as if I was not there. "I'll wait for the next sale then". Again, no acknowledgement of my consumer interest. As I walked away, I told my girlfriend "was it me...or did this guys customer service suck?" She agreed that big 5 is sooo...much better. I purchased a pair of running shoes from Dick's in June 2014 for $129.99, and tried to return them today as they were already falling apart. The sales clerk was very unhelpful, and not at all considerate to my situation. Of course, I can understand that the product cannot be resold. But as much profit as Dick's makes, they can certainly help out a dissatisfied customer. Costco does, as do many other stores. They should replace the shoes or at the least pro rate them somehow. I will not make another purchase at Dick's again. Very dissatisfied. read more
