Went in to buy some new shoes. Wasn't looking forward to it because you just don't get help these days. And if you do they aren't kind. But I had such great service. Raul helped me find the brand and the size. I told him I needed a wide shoe to only show me the ones that come in wide. And he did just that. Very very pleasantly. He helped all the way through. Even asked if I wanted to try a different color. I said no thanks this is just the one I want. At check out the clerk was kind and checked to make sure both shoes were the same size.I had a great experience and will come back to buy my shoes there again. read more

We came here to get our little some sports equipment to start practicing at home. We got him a soccer ball with some cones to do cycles with. Then my husband decided to get him a glove for the future season of baseball, and it was a nice and easy process. Great sporting goods store! Just went looking for the holidays and to see the new stuff. Love their Nike and Calia clothes. Great workout clothes! They have a bunch more stuff too. The workers were really nice and welcoming. Many asked if I needed help. Tons of great Nike shoes. Wide selection. Pretty much all across the board for all sports. Very clean and organized store. Highly unsatisfied. I do not recommend buying shoes from this store. This location had one size available in the shoe I needed, but it was obviously warn and damaged, there were apparent orange stains on the shoe and the rubber sole was visibly warn down. I was told by staff that they would be able to order a brand new pair and have them shipped to my home, so I made the purchase. When my package arrived I was very disappointed and upset to see that DICK's Sporting Goods sent me the exact same damaged orange stained shoes that they had in their store. I spoke with the store manager and was not offered compensation for the misleading information or at the very least a rush delivery of a new pair. In my opinion the shoe should have been damaged out and not sold as brand new to begin with. I will no longer purchase shoes from this store. read more

This one women co-worker didn't mind me being there in the adidas section since she saw me while passing by, but then a min later this dude co-worker saw me and kicked me out because it was closing time. They are not ready to do business in a time of COVID. Only about half of the staff wore masks appropriately, others either wear them on their chin or no mask in sight. A chap at Steven's Bicycles recommended checking out Dick's, since we were in the neighborhood, we stopped by. Dick's would be okay/3 stars, but I believe it is our duty to provide clean and safe environments (even pre-covid). I didn't see that in my visit today. I would have felt more comfortable if team members and guests wore their masks over nose & mouth and if there was a consistency of friendliness throughout the store not just at the door. Retail stores have their work cut out for them during & post-covid. One way to compete with online stores is creating amazing guest experiences and exceed expectations when it comes to safety and cleanliness. Dick's is not worth the time and energy of going out. I'm much happier (and safer) at REI with their knowledgeable and friendly staff! read more

In my opinion you don't get any value for the prices at Dick's. If they had superior customer service I would have no problem paying their prices but actually finding someone to help you timely is like finding a winning powerball ticket. Last time I was in the cashier told me to hold on while she finished a text. Getting help at the gun counter you'd get more help from the residents of a cemetery. I heard about how they will change out your old damage golf grips from some friends that were taking some golf lessons with my son and I. So I thought ok, and took my set in, at first the nice lady, Ashley, said it might take a few days . I thought that's fine, it's been raining. That evening Andrew calls and tells me my clubs are ready, since it's close to closing time any time tomorrow will be good, we open at 9. What!? They're done in a day! That's awesome! Saved me an extra trip to Clovis since I was headed out that way to take my son to piano lessons. When I got my clubs I couldn't wait to see them...they did a good job! Thank you! read more

I've used DSG for years purchasing a ton of sporting eq there. First time I try to return something, and with a receipt, I'm told no. It was a new item and yes it was taken out of the packaging but not used. Funny because the reason I've kept using brick and mortar stores was because of what I thought would be better service and managing these types of issues. I can find everything they sell cheaper online and in reality Amazon is easier to return items too. Bummer. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. The racism and lack of respect displayed at this location blows my mind. My husband came in and spent well over $1000. The first mistake was they hand the change and receipt to his son and not him. Second an hour later he came back to exchange and was told even though they remembered him, he could only be refunded the sale price which was $50 less. When he didn't go for that he was told to come in the next day to speak to a manager. So the next day the manager took his number and said she would look for the transaction... she was never seen or heard from again. So later that day he decided to just exchange for something else, but didn't have his ID, so he left the items there and came to get me. We pulled up at 7:02 and Martha acted like she didn't even want to give the sneakers back or complete the transaction because she had already closed out the store... they closed at 7.... it was 7:02... and the employees on that shift stood at the door laughing. Day 4 we come to speak to the manager... Troy the manager told my husband that he had "heard about him" and he was sure that his employees in no way treated you foul and laughed in his face.. he was also told he was no Longer allowed to shop at this store. My husband is no drug dealer, he spent his hard earned money at this establishment, the disrespect has us not only leaving the review here but taking it to corporate as well. We never asked for anything but the money that was spent... and respect that we are not kids, and not the ghetto black people they tried to paint us as. If you are looking to buy a treadmill or an elliptical and are looking at Sole, I would highly discourage it. When the machines worked they were fine but they both broke down within 2 years of purchase. The treadmill has a worn belt, I ordered the part that is still under warranty in August. It is now January and I still haven't received it. They tell me they are on backorder, for 5 months! Ridiculous! When I bought the elliptical I paid extra to have the company set it up because I read when it's not set up right it makes a lot of noise. It started making noise from the second week of purchase. Called a repairman and was told parts were missing! I've called the service department several times, can't get through to anyone! Extremely disappointed in the Sole brand! read more

Every Dick's sporting goods I have ever been to has offered a Military Discount, so I always choose them for my larger sporting good purchases. My kid needed a new set of golf clubs, so we came to purchase them at this location and were surprised to find this particular location doesn't offer a military discount. My kid had her heart set on the clubs, so we still purchased. I was just surprised. I'm glad we didn't buy the rower we were considering... I could find a better price online. read more

Terrible service. I came in to get my tennis racket restrung, and they told me it would take a week to restring. So I said, "Its fine, I need it done." So they said they'll call me when its finished. More than a week goes by, and they have yet to give a call. So I go in, thinking that they just forgot to call or something. But coming in, they tell me that they've been too busy and haven't done my racket. I come in at week two, but still no racket. And now week three, and its still not finished... Terrible service. If it had been 1 or 1 1/2 weeks, I wouldn't be complaining as much. But its been 3 weeks, the racket is still not done, and they didn't even contact me once to update the situation. So I got my racket (not retrung) and a refund. I definitively am never coming back. read more

Dick's is new to this area, but I have been to them before back in the Midwest, I would say that this one seems to be a little better run than most, and I'm liking it a little better than the other options in town for sporting supplies. This place is a joke, no wonder there's barely any customers shopping here. I came here on Saturday (july 5) to get my tennis racquets string. They told me it would be 2 days but no guarantee. I was fine with it. Paid it. Left. (July 8) 3 days later, no calls from them or anything. They never mention they were to call when it's ready...but I was close by so I dropped by. When I got inside and I see my racquets just sitting on the counter. I was happy, thought they were ready. They were not. Supposedly the manager there is the person in charge of doing the stringing himself. He came to talk to me and this guy barely wanna make eye contact. He was too busy with his phone...with his texting or whatever. ...while he was talking to me. This is what he told me. He was busy and didn't get to it. He will get a head start on it tomorrow. Beside that, he claimed he's the only person that does the stringing and he didn't work until monday. If this was true, shouldn't I be told that the stringing guy won't be here til Monday to string it. Instead they told me that it should take 48 hours from sat. Well anyway, after his two cents of bs he left after I asked to get my money back. He didn't even act sorry. He did said it but took off pretty damn fast into hiding. Side note: When the cashier told the so-manager about the racquets...they both looked suprised and scared that no one had touch the racquets since the day I brought it in. It was just too obvious. Seems like a very nice store. Went in for a wildlife camera. The guy that helped me wasn't extremely knowledgeable but between us we figured it out. Either the shelf tag was wrong or the bar code was scanning the wrong price...either way I was charged $10.00 more than the shelf tag. The person at the register said no problem and corrected it. Bought a new set of golf clubs a few days ago. They have a "pro shop" available for repairs, club fittings, etc. Also, an indoor driving range is available. There was a large selection of club sets to choose from, ranging from very cheap ($200) to very expensive ($2000), or individual clubs if you just need a new club by itself. Assistance was offered almost immediately. I declined the salesperson's offer as I wanted to thoroughly browse their selections. When I was ready to make my selection, a salesperson was easy to locate and provided friendly, helpful assistance. My only complaint was that they do not offer any discounts for seniors or military veterans (Yeah, I'm old and a retired Navy veteran). read more

I really want to love this store, but I just can't! It's big; it's bright; it's shiny.....I suppose that those things alone should be an indicator of how expensive their prices are going to be. And, boy, are they! I might be able to get over the high prices if I got stellar customer service, but the 2 times that I've been here, no one ever approached me to ask if I wanted help, nor could I find anyone to answer my questions. So on my first visit,, yes, I did make purchases, but on the 2nd visit, I didn't. I'll just keep going back to Big 5. Poor costumer service. Encountered more than one sales associate that did not have full knowledge of Dick's return policy or couldn't explain it. And a rude, dismissive, and unprofessional manager named Joel. This location lost a costumer over a pair shoes. Shoes were defective and I had a valid receipt available and they were purchased w/in their 60 day policy. One costumer/family might not seem like a big loss but they sure acted like exchanging 1 pair of $35 shoes would be a huge loss. Drove to Blackstone location and they took care of the issue within a couple of minutes. I will continue to shop at Dick's but never at the location on Herndon in Clovis. It's a bummer because I live close by but they don't deserve my business. I have a son that plays sports all year long so there are many, many, many, pairs of shoes and athletic gear to buy in our future. More than $35 worth. I did call Dick's customer support number and they recommended I go to another location. They said they would write a report to the regional manager. When they spoke to Joel he told them that the studs on the cleats I wanted to exchange were worn down...I wasn't trying to return cleats! Ha! Damn I want to like this store as the visual impact is great when you walk in. It seems like they will have a good selection, but for those of us ladies who have ample cleavage the selection is poor. The men's department seems way better than the ladies. Very few shorts that one could wear in public is all the girls get to choose from. I was in the store for 40 minutes looking at putters and was only acknowledged when I started testing out the real expensive putters.
