Good little local burger spot! They have excellent bar type food-onion rings and fried mushrooms are excellent!! We all loved our food here! I had the cheeseburger and my husband had the patty melt-and declared it to be excellent! It was crowded but we still got great service and our food was delivered hot and delicious!!

If you're wondering how-to screw up a grilled cheese, head here. Maybe the cooks were just having an off night because the reviews wee Onion Rings were a bit greasy, but tasty. The SPTs were THE BOMB! They were lightly fried and very lightly dusted in cinnamon sugar.

The food was delicious, great price for the food, i could even finish my food. The staff was super sweet and inviting. The environment was super chill and relaxing, reminded me of the bar at home.

Cheeseburger all the way with grilled onions. Hey I was starving at this point. Lucky I even got a photo of it

I have to agree with other reviewers when they said the burgers here are fantastic. Delicious food cannot make up completely for terrible service though. We went for takeout order for lunch and placed and paid for our order and told it would be ready in about 15 minutes. I informed the waitress we'd wait outside. 20 minutes later I went back inside and was asked my name for order and I told the young man who asked I never gave a name. The girl who wrote my order down spotted me and began frantically looking for the order ticket she wrote up. Turns out, she never gave it to the short order cook. Fast forward another 25 to 30 minutes we still waiting. Husband had gone inside to get order and was asked what did we order again? He was fed up and came and told me to handle it so as I walked in, young man was coming out with our order. It was just two burgers and an order of fries! It was not busy as it was after their peak lunch rush. A shame they are a bit inept when it comes to service because the burgers were excellent. Not sure if that's enough for me to want to return next time I'm in Charlottesville.

Half the reason I go somewhere is not for the food, it's for the people. Their hearts just weren't in it today, but I still tipped well due to the coronavirus situation. I ordered take out for my family and we took it to a park to have for a picnic. The food was amazing, we enjoyed it. Can't say I'll be a returning customer, though, as the vibe was pretty depressing. I hope they keep their chins up and get through this. It's not fun for anyone.

Thankfully for me, Martin's in a great location. Just north of town in Hollymead. I enjoy sitting at the bar to get a good look at the TVs and watch them cook on the flattop in front of you. It is also good for medium size groups. We have taken as many as 8 for my birthday dinner. Martin's has outdoor seating when the weather is nice. It's a great spot if you want something quick and have your pup with you. I haven't had a bad meal at Martin's, last time I had the Chicken Philly with an order of poutine. I'll admit, I was spoiled by poutine on my trip to Montreal. This poutine had the necessary ingredients, I just felt the gravy was a bit too salty. The chicken philly was great. You can always judge a good philly by their bread. In my opinion it is what sets a philly apart from its competitors. The bread at Martins was grilled perfectly with the right amount of butter on the roll. The cheese was melted nicely with an adequate amount of peppers and onions to accompany the chicken. The price is reasonable which is another reason that I return. Overall, great place with friendly staff and good food. Keep it up!

Server (Brianna) started out good, fairly attentive until I got my food. After I got my food I got one cursory "all good?" and that was it until I got the bill. Anyway, on to the food: ordered two meat plate (brisket and pulled pork) with fries and coles slaw. Fries were the highlight of the meal. Hot, crispy, seasoned...awesome. Cole slaw was good....but it was super tangy (vinegary) for my taste. Don't get it wrong, it was good, just hard to eat all of it thanks to the tang. On to the meat. Got a pretty good sized pile of pulled pork and a couple slices of brisket. Both meats were lukewarm at best. Pork was dry (thank goodness for the NC vinegar sauce). The brisket made up for the porks dryness, it was extra greasy and extra fatty. Like, for real, do you think people are going to eat the fat layer between the lean point meat and the fatty upper meat? Yeah, not me. But since the brisket was also lukewarm (more like lukecold) it really didn't make a difference. I did think the Vision BBQ sauce tasted pretty good. If Brianna would have come back by after I got my meal I would have sent it back....and probably would have just left without worrying over a replacement, or a comp, or anything. Secondary issue: went to the mens room. It was just nasty. You get once shot to make an impression, and this one was not good. Would not/will not repeat.

Service up front was solid, but the food did not deliver for me. The restaurant is located just off UVA grounds. Plenty of parking maybe should have been a clue. Overall the dining room was clean, but our table had some debris on top and floor. I ordered the wing platter with sides of baked beans and macaroni and cheese. My daughter the pulled pork sandwich with macaroni and cheese. My wife the turkey and shared sides. No one cared for the macaroni as it was flavorless. The wings were good, but small for the price. They say it's a half pound. The baked beans were tasty. My wife liked her turkey, I'm not inclined to recommend or try again. It also burned me that they have a tipping option and do not deliver the food to the table.

The sandwich was pretty tasty and most importantly, the turkey wasn't dry! The slices were pretty thick (almost 1/2" thick). I would have preferred slightly thinner and just more pieces, but good flavor. The combination of the turkey with white sauce, slaw, and pickles made for a tasty bite. The sides were a mixed bag. Pretty good overall, but I could have taken 25% of the salt on the greens and added it to the casserole! The casserole may have had enough salt, but with the greens so salty, the squash seemed slightly under seasoned. I usually don't comment on bathrooms, but the hand dryer being located directly above the toilet was pretty gross. No paper towels either. I used my shirt to turn the knob with wet hands and grab a paper towel from one of the tables. Again, staff was great. The food was pretty good, but I'm not a fan of the bathrooms!

The sausage was good (a lil dry) and the brisket...baby I asked for fatty brisket (and I always have to tell ppl I mean the part you'd probably not eat lol, don't judge me) and I swear they gave me the driest leanest slices they could find lol. So my wife recommended that they be lined out or taken off the menu option, we were told by the cashier, "I have no control over that" and when suggested he lets the manager or own know, a reply of "yeah" and a chuckle was under his breath. The restaurant is still clean and well presentable but the friendliness and excitement from the employees is lacking from before when the Crozet location was not open. So as for the food now, disappointment continues. The French Fries, as pictured and video, are not cooked all of the way. The pulled chicken is dry and over cooked. The sides are 1/2 the previous sizes, look at the pictures, and the side of chicken salad for $5 is not even enough for a sandwich. Guess it's time to look for another BBQ place to go to since $45 equates to uncooked food and 1/2 servings....rather disappointing when I was such a fan.
