Pulled Pork Platter. With cornbread, collard greens and Mac and cheese
    Zoe G.

The barbecue is very good. I got a side platter last time and probably wouldn't do so again. I love the collards and corn bread but I wouldn't get the banana pudding again and the Cole slaw is a maybe for me. Nothing wrong with either, just my personal taste! But I would def get a pulled pork here any day!

Great food, friendly staff they are working hard to get through the giant construction project going on next-door!

I got the moe boy. The sandwich was as good. A little salty. I would've loved to have gotten the collard greens but they were only available for the brisket. Food came out fast and staff was nice. They'd benefit from offering more sides, like cabbage.

I happen to be in Charlottesville for 1 night. Wife and I were craving ribs. Found this place and went. Atmosphere is great. Pretty chill, good music playing and friendly people. The food is absolutely fantastic. The ribs were delicious, tender, and juicy. Mac-n-cheese was great. Baked beans were the best I've ever had. Cornbread is amazing also. Talked to the cook after to tell him how much I loved it. (I think he was Moe) He told me about red beans and rice special today. Told him I would likely be back. So, I went back. Incredible. I was too excited to eat it and forgot to take a pic. I can't wait for another reason to come back to Charlottesville and eat here. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Moe's Original BBQ. Reasonably priced and extremely delicious. Go try it.

Absolutely amazing BBQ at Moe's! The turkey was sublime: tender and made even more delicious by Moe's signature BBQ sauce. Mmmmmm! And to make it even better, I got some warm cornbread and some of the best banana pudding I've ever tasted. Will 100% come to Moe's every time I'm in Charlottesville!!

Pretty solid bbq, had the smoked wings with their coleslaw which was fantastic. Service was great and very clean establishment.

Wife and I stopped by Moe's for a Sunday lunch. Parking is in the rear. The interior is warm and cozy. The cashier took our order and the food came out after a short wait. I had the smoked chicken wing platter and wife had the half smoked chicken. I loved that the food came out hot. Chicken wings were moist and tasty. It had a nice smokey flavor. I preferred the traditional bbq over the "Alabama" white sauce. The sides were good. I recommend asking the cashier about their daily special sides. The sweet potato fries that came with my wife's platter was very good. If you like great bbq at reasonable prices then this is the place.

Holy smoker!! I have been dreaming about this place since we went! It was so so so good! That Mac and cheese is heavenly and those ribs honey, delicious! I am not a fan of cornbread with actual corn in it, and this delivered! It doesn't have corn pieces but it does come with a touch of a kick and then they toast it..yum! I could put that Alabama White sauce in a cup and drink it too. We will be making special trips up for this place, that's for sure!

I enjoyed lunch here on a weekday and was lucky enough to get here right before the lunch crowd arrived! This place gets busy at lunch time, so be prepared! They have an interesting menu loaded with the typical smoked eats (chicken, pork, ribs, etc) and so many sides, all homemade, as well as sandwiches that all looked quite appetizing. Service was great... very friendly and helpful! Their sauce is good, has black pepper style spice to it. The chicken is perfectly brined and nicely smoked! Sides were good.... Mac & Cheese was a fav! Cornbread stuffing was second fav... Cole slaw is interesting, but not that great. Tater salad was nicely done. Overall, I'll be back, as I definitely want to try their "Moe Boy Shrimp Sandwich!"

Server (Brianna) started out good, fairly attentive until I got my food. After I got my food I got one cursory "all good?" and that was it until I got the bill. Anyway, on to the food: ordered two meat plate (brisket and pulled pork) with fries and coles slaw. Fries were the highlight of the meal. Hot, crispy, seasoned...awesome. Cole slaw was good....but it was super tangy (vinegary) for my taste. Don't get it wrong, it was good, just hard to eat all of it thanks to the tang. On to the meat. Got a pretty good sized pile of pulled pork and a couple slices of brisket. Both meats were lukewarm at best. Pork was dry (thank goodness for the NC vinegar sauce). The brisket made up for the porks dryness, it was extra greasy and extra fatty. Like, for real, do you think people are going to eat the fat layer between the lean point meat and the fatty upper meat? Yeah, not me. But since the brisket was also lukewarm (more like lukecold) it really didn't make a difference. I did think the Vision BBQ sauce tasted pretty good. If Brianna would have come back by after I got my meal I would have sent it back....and probably would have just left without worrying over a replacement, or a comp, or anything. Secondary issue: went to the mens room. It was just nasty. You get once shot to make an impression, and this one was not good. Would not/will not repeat.

For a dine in experience they have good bbq probably the best I've had in cville so I'd be back. The restaurant is decorated with football and military memorabilia with nods to local firefighters and likely police departments as well. They definitely lean into an "army family" aesthetic. Their customer service is top notch and everyone who works there is very polite. This is definitely a "yes maam yes sir" type of restaurant. The food is great and I was actually surprised at the prices. I remember feeling like they were absurd while ago but we are for two for $15 each and had plenty. We shared a 2 meat platter with the brisket and pulled pork and made it an XXL combo that came with a side and a drink. Got us to about $22 and then added a side of mac and cheese and a bottled drink so we got to about $30 even for 2. The brisket and pulled pork are fantastic. Iv had Nashville BBQ so it's kinda hard to compete but this is probably the best I've had in Charlottesville. The meats are all good I personally prefer a bit more flavor but they're at least a 4/5. The sides were literally all great. The baked beans are prob the best I've had. The Mac is solid prob a 4/5 same with the corn pudding. The platter comes with a complimentary side of cornbread. This was a 2/5 (too dry and crumbly for us). The house sauces are all amazing and they have PLENTY of choices (I think 6 altogether inspired from different regions which is cool). We did not have leftovers - it was good portion for 2 people but we didn't feel stuffed or have extra so if you're SUPER hungry just add some extra sides. The food is good and for the price we would definitely be back!

Now back to those sides...the beans are very flavorful and the collards are perfect. Wolf's Fixings needs to come here and to get side tips and this place needs to go there for brisket tips. Well, at the register we were advised, "we don't serve them here, only the Crozet location." So my wife recommended that they be lined out or taken off the menu option, we were told by the cashier, "I have no control over that" and when suggested he lets the manager or own know, a reply of "yeah" and a chuckle was under his breath. The restaurant is still clean and well presentable but the friendliness and excitement from the employees is lacking from before when the Crozet location was not open. So as for the food now, disappointment continues. The French Fries, as pictured and video, are not cooked all of the way. The pulled chicken is dry and over cooked. The sides are 1/2 the previous sizes, look at the pictures, and the side of chicken salad for $5 is not even enough for a sandwich. Guess it's time to look for another BBQ place to go to since $45 equates to uncooked food and 1/2 servings....rather disappointing when I was such a fan. If this is fixed, I will update but for now...maybe it's back to Vision BBQ downtown Charlottesville.
