    Grilled Salmon*
    Cole M.

It's been a little while since I've been to a Texas Roadhouse. This is by no means my favorite chain sit down restaurant but this most recent trip was quite enjoyable. I got the salmon for the first time and it was excellent. The service was great. And overall I had one of my more pleasant experiences at this establishment. May just be a turning of the leaf for me.

Great manager but an always mistakes made ! Steak over cooked and wrong steak sent ! Talked to Joy the manager ! Great person ! We explain our issues ! But they agree there are issues but they took her steak off the bill ! the chicken fried sirloin ! Joy is local and started as a waitress here ! We missed our movie but what a show!

Very good overall experience that was highlighted by amazing service. Also the get in line ahead worked flawlessly with timing. The dining room was clean, unused tables cleared and the crowd was hopping on a Saturday night. My ribeye was perfection with sides of loaded potatoes (was ordered as loaded sweet potato) and mixed veggies. Yeah there was a mistake but I enjoyed what I had. Everything was tasty, but the steak was hero. I wood return and would live to have the same waitress.

Pro: clean interior, friendly staff, sport TV, takeout. Con: small front parking lot. Came here on a whim and the restaurant front parking lot is small but plenty of parking space next to the store. Upon entering we were seated quickly and our waitress was summer who was friendly and check in frequently to see how we were doing. For the appetizer, we ordered the cactus blossom and for the entree I ordered the 12 oz New York strip medium rare with my two sides being steak fires & vegetables. For the drink I had the raspberry lemonade. The appetizer was ok but nothing to write home about. The streak came out look good the end piece were medium rare but more toward the middle I say it was more on the rare side. I like how my waitress got me a refill without me even asking so that was cool. All in all, experience here was pretty good.

Visited a few weeks ago while passing through Charlottesville. This was my first time at this location. It was a Sunday afternoon of a holiday weekend but we were seated right away. My boyfriend picked out a ribeye and I ordered my usual - the sirloin + shrimp skewer. We also ordered the combo appetizer, a side salad, and chili. The service was excellent. Our waitress checked up on us multiple times and our food came out fast. It was cooked well and delicious. Everything went smoothly and we were in and out in about 50 minutes with tons of leftovers. Overall, a great quick dining experience which was good as we had a 2 hour drive home. I highly recommend this location - I think it was better than some of our home locations!!

A Food Chain with Mediocre Steak and Phenomenal Bread Let me get this out of the way: I normally despise steakhouse chains. Outback, Longhorn, and several others are just not my cup of tea. In my mission to support as many local businesses as possible, I will almost always choose a local steak place where the chances of finding a great steak are normally higher than that of a chain. All that to say... Texas Roadhouse is fine. If I ABSOLUTELY must go to a local chain, then Texas Roadhouse is my go-to. It's better than average, with addicting bread and cinnamon butter to start off the meal. My girlfriend and I had a great date, and the service and ambience were good. The food was fine. Neither the steak nor the shrimp blew us away, but it wasn't bad by any account. It's a perfectly inoffensive, decently-priced steak dinner, and for a chain, that's as great a compliment as any.

In case you have never been they offer steaks that are cooked in a brick fire oven. AMAZING I ordered the VA sirloin which was cooked to perfection (medium rare) with creamed spinach and potatoes. The creamed spinach and the potatoes were very delicious and flavorful. I also ordered the fried oysters which were great. Not overly fried and still maintained the texture and flavor of a typical oyster. The service was impeccable. Our waitress was very entertaining and helpful. She was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. She ensured that wanted for nothing. The ambiance was great. I loved the cow theme as well as the signage that stated "no well done steaks". It was a great touch. Overall, I had a great experience. If I am in Charlottesville again I will definitely visit.

SERVICE We came in for a belated Valentine's Day dinner,…read moreand the staff immediately seated us when we got int. Everyone was friendly and professional without being too formal. Our server served us waters and let us peruse the menu. Most spots will have the waiter come by and ask you how things are, and our waiter didn't come by at all after setting down the food which was interesting -- not good nor bad but probably were also busy. AMBIENCE The space felt upscale but still easygoing, which made it perfect for our Valentine's night out. There's no dress code, but most people looked like they'd put a little effort in, matching the polished but comfortable vibe. Loved the open kitchen all the way towards the back by the bookshelf area gave the room some energy without making it feel noisy. Definitely struck a great balance between date-night fancy and laid-back cool and casual. FOOD We started with the Beet Salad Ribbons and the Meze Trio. The beet salad mixed earthy ribbon-sheet beets with hazelnuts and a bright pomegranate vinaigrette that surprised me! Loved the pairing of the beets and cheese and hazelnut crunch. As a texture fan, this really hit the spot! It was colorful, fresh, and really well balanced. The Meze Trio had charred eggplant, a yogurt-goat cheese dip, and a seasonal hummus. Each had its own flavor and texture, and everything felt super fresh and well-seasoned. Favorite was the seasonal hummus. The yogurt-goat cheese dip was good but definitely sweeter than I personally perferred! The Calamari was also quite good and had decent number of chunky pieces that weren't just breading. The only small letdown was the pita bread since we had more dips than pita left. We expected refills might be complimentary, especially for a place like this, but they weren't. Not a big deal, just something that stood out in an otherwise smooth and thoughtful experience! The Manti Dumplings were a highlight too -- probably so much handwork in making these look like they do! The Sharondale mushrooms gave them a rich, savory flavor, and the pepper butter sauce added just the right touch of spice. The burger was also great -- juicy, flavorful, and paired with house fries and an amazing urfa pepper aioli. You could tell both dishes were elevated but still comforting, showing off the chef's fine-dining background in a really approachable way. For dessert, we shared the Baklava Cheesecake and a Chocolate Hazelnut special. The cheesecake was unique -- cheesecake filling sandwiched between baklava. It was delicious but not what I was expected! It was creamy and nutty with pistachio layers, and the chocolate dessert was incredibly rich without being heavy. Both were perfect finishes. We even took home the leftover goat cheese dip because it was that good. Overall, pices were a little on the higher side ($23-$29 for mains, $14 for dessert), but for the quality and thought put into every dish, it felt worth it and would come back again for a special occasion! This was definitely elevated ambience and the food was well executed in our opinion. I can see the hype! Definitely not a spot I'd frequent often but for the special days -- this is it to impress your date or family!

We weren't sure how big they were but when they arrived we realized they're the size of a small taco. The breading was good but the meat didn't have much flavor without the sauce which was really good. We then ordered the chicken and avocado arepa. It was the size of my palm and filled with what I'd describe as chicken salad mixed with avocado. It was ok but not my favorite. I'm a small eater so for me, I'd need two empanadas as a meal but my husband would definitely need 4 and he's an average eater. At $6 for each little empanada (comes without sides or a drink) and $12 for each arepa (comes without sides or a drink), the price just doesn't seem worth it. The service was good and if the price matched the servings we would try again but not at the current price.

We had 5:30pm reservations and were seated immediately. The host was warm, acknowledged the occasion, and honored my request for a quieter table by placing us in a bay-window nook. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The space echoed so badly we could barely hear each other, and the setting sun combined with the AC being accidentally turned off made the area feel like a sauna. Our water glasses were filled within minutes, so we thought service would be smooth. Instead, we sat for another 15 minutes before anyone greeted us--while a table seated after us was helped promptly and served at a noticeably faster pace. I understand large parties require attention (there was a group of 10-12 nearby), but as a former server myself, I've never allowed smaller tables to feel forgotten. When our server, Lucian (sp?), finally arrived, we immediately placed drink and appetizer orders because we were already starving. The appetizers came out about 20 minutes later--still before our drinks. The brussels sprouts were excellent and worth the wait. The biscuit basket was good, though the butter-to-biscuit ratio felt off, and the apple butter was surprisingly delicious. Our entrées didn't arrive until at least 45 minutes after that. The pacing was simply poor, and we consistently felt like an afterthought. While our server was polite, he didn't initiate conversation, offer suggestions, mention happy hour, or acknowledge our daughter's birthday. He didn't even suggest dessert. Meanwhile, the six-top behind us--seated well after we were--was wrapping up their meal as ours was just being served. The food presentation was beautiful. The pot roast, however, was underwhelming. It lacked seasoning and sauce, and the vegetables were forgettable--very few potatoes, no carrots. "Not your normal pot roast" was accurate, but not in a good way. The shrimp and grits were excellent, with great seasoning and a flavorful sauce. The salmon was moist and well-prepared, though it still had a few scales on the end of the filet. Once we finished eating, we again waited for our server to return. We eventually had to wave him down for boxes and again to request the check. Parking in the back was convenient early in the evening, though I imagine it becomes difficult later. Would we return? Unfortunately, probably not. We've been treated better, served more efficiently, and appreciated more fully at other restaurants--including one almost directly across the street. What we hoped would be a memorable celebration ended up feeling ho-hum at a high price--too high for the experience we received.
