I decided to go here for a nice relaxing brunch on a sunday afternoon, with my friend and our moms.
I don't like to give a negative review; usually when i go somewhere and have a bad experience, i would not go back, but this one... i just had to write about.
So we enter this cafe, and it looks busy and crowded; we wait for about 10 minutes till we can finally sit down; and as i am looking at the menu, i notice the low priced options...not bad!
They have everything from salads, to burgers to brunch. I saw the option of
"Soup and salad + garlic bread" and i'm thinking, hell yeah!! SInce all the other options that i liked, had BACON and that's right, NO SUBSTITUTION!
So then finally the server comes over; her name was JACKIE - This blond woman, and right of the bat, i realize her attitude...stinking attitude! PLEASE!
My mom got the "Fish Burger" and the server asked: "Do you want fries or onion rings?" --- listen, i know i am not in Maggiano's or some fancy restaurant where the word "Would you like" is much appreciated; but i do know that customer service is very much indeed appreciated anywhere, and her customer service skilled SUCKED!
So then when it got to me, she gave me a look and a half ass smile, like as if she is obligated to move her face muscles into making me think she is actually smiling, i don't know! But then i ordered the soup and salad option, and she immediately replies, "NOPE, we only serve that during the week" - not a sorry or anything, then she looked at my friend to get her order; so i grabbed the menu and saw that no where in the salad option does it say that choice is only for the week days! FINE! big deal, i chose the Avacado and Shrimp salad, then when it was back to me, i asked for that salad, and curious to know what is in there, because it did not mention it; i asked! I realized it has cheese, and at this point, i felt like she wants to LEAVE- she was very agitated and made me feel uncomfortable, here i am just asking what is in the salad, then i said fine, just put the cheese on the side PLEASE.
She leaves and 20 minutes later she arrives with all the plates and before setting them down, she tells me "Sweety, they did not put your cheese on the side, do you want me to take it back?" - i took a look at it, and little shredded cheddar cheese was ALL OVER the salad, it was more cheese salad with avocado, then salad with cheese and avocado......EWWWWW!!! and the lettuce, I'm sorry, i have never seen more gross lettuce that has gone that bad, in my life, and they put that in front of me?
So i told her that i'd like to change my order after witnessing that; because i know what they will do. They will take it back, either take the cheese out OR replace the shrimp and avocado on another bed of GRASS! NO THANKS!
But Jackie, gave me this agonizing look, as if i had asked her to plant me new lettuce and avocado, and personally catch the shrimp herself; seriously! She paused for a few seconds and looked at me giving me this nasty attitude and left.
I have worked as a server before, honestly i did not ask her much; i have been at her place where people constantly changed their orders on me, and i still smiled and said "Absolutely" but with her, i felt as if she would punch me in the face if i had asked for another thing.
And what the hell? couldn't you come and tell me like a minute before the food is ready that "THEY" forgot to put the cheese on the side? OR bring all the food together when everything is really ready? of course not!
So after attempting to eat this greasy food, i couldn't, just couldn't! my friend also couldn't finish it, but hey...she didn't take it home! That should tell you how good the food is!
But the worst part was when i was still eating; because she brought my food like 10 minutes after everyone else's and then has the audacity to place the check on the table and without a smile or a thank you, leaves!
What about deserts? What if we wanted deserts? That basically means: pay and get the hell out.
at this point everyone is fed up with her horrible service; and I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed it.
I'm NEVER going back here again. I don't need greasy food with stinky attitude. Even the people behind McDonald's smile at you and greet you. read more
