We took my wife's new SUV to VIP in Waterville for a plug as there was a small nail in the center of the tread they said that they could plug the tire we went back to get the car an hour or so later and drop my wife off and she came back to the house and showed me the receipt and they charged her $60 to put a plug in the center of the tire when I had already found the hole and marked it for them anywhere else a plug would cost between 8 and $15 they charged us for the plug and then another 40 something dollars for labor when it says a tire repair is a flat rate we will never return to VIP as they have done this before in the past ! read more

The Waterville VIP garage crapped the bed so to speak, when I showed them the flat tire (a screw puncture). They immediately, in less than 5 seconds, assured me that the flat was not repairable, and the tire needed replacement. He said he could put some air in it, if it wasn't too bad. I declined, before he could give me the price for 4 new all season tires. I guess $600 would be their price About 5 minutes later, I went to my dealer brand's garage, and the garage specialist put on his coat, gloves, repaired the hole, in less than 8 minutes, and pulled out a small nail, also present, but had not made its way through, unlike the first, filled the tire. Because I was out of town, the repair was FREE he told me. I took the spare wheel off, but the repaired one, and I drove back home, 5 hours later. While driving back from Bar Harbor, Maine to just outside Philadelphia, our check engine light came on, so we pulled into O'Reilly's auto parts to get the check engine light diagnosed. The issue was one that was better fixed sooner rather than later, and we were trying to get to the hotel in Massachusetts to stay over before heading the rest of the way home the next day. We were so grateful when the guys at VIP were able to diagnose and replace the part that we needed in a matter of hours. Considering how we were an unexpected work in, we were just so extremely grateful not to have to stay over and derail our entire route home. The technician explained the issue so thoroughly, even showing us the part that needed replacing. We're back home in PA and it's thanks to these guys and their willingness to help. read more

It's not that a company never has a problem that's so important. It's what they do to make it right - and VIP and their manager, PJ were outstanding in that regard! I give them my highest possible recommendation. I recently went to the Waterville, Maine location for 4 tires and an inspection sticker. I was helped by Percy who goes by "PJ" - the store manager. My car had anti-theft lug nuts and the special tool used to take them off broke, so we needed more help to get the tires off. They also ended up damaging one of the rims in the process. PJ told me that he would order a replacement rim and to go to the local Jeep dealer and have them remove those lugs. The bill from the dealer - shockingly - came in at almost $900. PJ went to bat for me and sure enough, I just received a check from VIP to reimburse me for the expense and when I went to finally get my tires and sticker, they had a new rim waiting. This is a true stand-up organization and VIP should be proud to have employees like PJ. You have won a customer for life. Well done! read more

I was in for service this past Sunday. I called to schedule my appointment a week before and the service to schedule my appointment was very prompt. The service days available are very convenient for the working public. I was greeted with a friendly smile by Chris. He promptly took my vehicle in and informed me of what he was going to do. I was in and out in no time to enjoy the rest of my day. As I was checking out however, an older woman came in asking for some help with a tire that she stated had a bubble in it and she wanted her spare placed on. Chris and another mechanic named Garret promptly told her to pull her car around and Chris will get that changed for her. She was shocked at how quickly that transaction took and clearly very pleased. I HIGHLY recommend the VIP in Waterville. Picture this: My boyfriend and I are driving back home from Bar Harbor to Northern NJ (8 hour drive) and our car starts overheating! Needle on red. Coolant leaking all over the engine in our poor 1998 Jane Honda Civic. 6 hours away from home and we're starting to think we're SOL. I called Winslow's VIP but mistakenly pulled into Waterville's VIP instead. Tyler and his co-worker from Waterville VIP came to the rescue by topping off our coolant, finding the cause of the leak, and safely leading us in the right direction to get the car fixed by the good men of Winslow's VIP. Johnny (professional as heck manager) and Zachary (the dopest mechanic ever) from Winslow's VIP made time to fix our car, despite being appointment only, at a reasonable price. Also sidenote: the stars somehow aligned where Winslow's VIP just happened to have the parts to replace our radiator. Went in just for tire rotation and oil change they asked me if I wanted them to clamp the heat shield so it would be quieter it wasn't bad but figured they new what they were doing I left and exhaust was so loud it sounded like a Harley it was quiet before brought it back to them they told me I needed new O2 sensor and catalytic converter I brought it to Midas they put universal catalytic converter and 02 sensor I called VIP out of curiosity to see how much universal catalytic converter would be they told me they don't put universal catalytic converter on it won't pass inspection I called Midas to find out why they would put something on that wouldn't pass inspection they told me vip was just pissed cause I didn't have them do the work it will pass inspection they said every time I would bring my car to vip it was always something that would go wrong with it I don't trust them read more

I received prompt service when I had a very slow leak coming from my tire. However this is where I am unsure if I was played. The leak was so slow (completely drivable) yet I go back there and it's a sizable slice... which struck me as a red flag but what do I know. They say it's unsalvageable. I now have to buy 4 brand new tires. They say the condition of the tires would've needed it anyway but I bought the car recently and during my independent-mechanic inspection (not VIP) was told the tires were in great shape. But what do I know. I get the gut feeling I was being taken advantage of. But in the event I wasn't, I did not give only 1 star. Something just doesn't add up to me. read more

I was searching for 4 studded snow tires for my wife's 2014 Ford Edge with 20" wheels! Needless to say, I was trying to get the best price. When I contacted VIP in Waterville, I spoke with Laura. She found the best price for the 20" studded snow tires. What really made my day is when Laura went above and beyond. She informed me that if I where to purchase new smaller 17" wheels for my wife's Edge, the snow tires would be a better price. She ran all the numbers, both for the 20" tires and 17" tires/wheels package. It came out at around the same price, yet it will save me money on future winter tire purchases! My fiance took in a front wheel bearing to be pressed in purchased new at the location they themselves get their parts, they messed it up and broke the wheel bearing, when he tried to take it back he was told they do not guarantee their labor, and also tried to charge another half hour labor, they in the end made good after a huge argument and thanks to the manager of O'Reilly Auto store for helping him work it out with VIP to make good on their mistakes. Think twice before using VIP if they don't garentee their labor!!!! I would check with your local one to make sure they aren't running it the same, we used VIP a lot, never again! read more

VIP both in Waterville and Winslow have been my go to folks for years for a number of items, brakes, tires, inspections and oil changes. They are pretty good and usually pretty quick too! I hate making an appointment arriving on time or ahead of time and then waiting for HOURS to get the work done, they seem pretty good about that. read more

VIP was running a "deal" you could get your inspection for only half price. I went in. Suddenly they tell me my brakes were bad but they could fix them for hundreds of dollars. And they would not pass me unless I agreed to pay them to do the work. I immediately suspected BS. I left and went down the street and passed the inspection without any delay or problem. I then took the car the very next day up to Quebec City to the Ice Festival, for 7 days, and it snowed a number of them and I drove back in a blizzard. Still have the brakes without repair. Were they offering the deal on the inspection just to lure customers in so they then could make money on unneeded repairs? Let's just say, I would never go back there. read more
