I had a pleasantly surprising experience earlier this month at the VIP Tires & Service in Augusta…read more I took our 2010 Mazda Tribute in for brake work because the pedal was behaving oddly after a hard stop (when a pedestrian jumped off the curb in front of me). VIP's diagnosis was that the master cylinder and power booster were defunct and needed replacement. These repairs were made and I retrieved the car. It was a hefty bill but par for the course. Keeping an otherwise good older car on the road is a lot less expensive than replacing it. Shortly afterwards, I noticed the brakes were still acting the same as before--soft pedal, longer push. I took the car back to VIP for further diagnosis. The surprise was when the service rep informed me what they had found: The antilock braking system (ABS) had failed and needed replacement. What made the surprise pleasant was that, because they'd missed this fault in their original diagnosis, VIP was going to obtain and install the new ABS unit free of charge--saving me a couple of grand for part and labor. Wow. I call that owning your profession. Fair is fair, and I will continue bringing our vehicles to VIP when they need service.

Another mechanic told me the latch repair would be over $400, which isn't a worthy investment for my 10 year old car, 1st Choice fixed it for $70! My spouse has also had repairs done here. Danis had my mother's car a Chrysler PT Cruiser 2002 to just replace her car battery and that's was it, she already purchased a car battery and just need a garage to take the old one out and replace it with the new one, that was a short of simple job to do, for a professional mechanic, but when my half sister Crystal Landry called to see if he was done with my mother's Linda Landry's car he answered the phone calmly and then started to jump down my half-sisters throat screaming at her that he will not be fucking bossed around about his work and when to do it, and he was pretty slanders about it, and refused to work on my mothers car "NOW", all cause my half-sister Crystal Landry called and asked him if her car was done yet?? And it will take me about 15 minutes to pick her up to bring her over to pick up her car if it's done? My half-sister Crystal had her girlfriend listen on the phone as Ethan J. Danis was screaming at her over the phone and saying, "Fuck You" and I won't Work on your mother's car, you can come and pick it up and go some place else with it and have them do the job!!!
