I absolutely loved the haircut that i got here by stylist Samir. I used the dealfind coupon for $29. I got a Moroccan Mask instead of Oil cuz he says my hair is thick, which is true, i do have thick hair. I asked for 3inches to be cut with side-swept bangs. I wanted purple highlights for the 5 foils but he said he said it would cost extra cuz he would have to bleach it first. I think it would cost more for any colour i chose cuz for highlights to show they had to bleach my hair (my hair color is black). He said they included the 5 foils to encourage ppl to get partial or full highlights. So this means you have to pay more. I ended up not getting any highlights cuz i didn't want to pay more. I got the mask, shampoo, condition, cut, dry and flat-iron done. My hair was cut at the length that i wanted. He spent a long time blow drying my hair with round brush and then i got it flat-iron. At the end he even showed me how to blow dry my bangs so they would stay to one side. From beginning to end i spent 1hr20mins. I was the only client in the salon getting my hair done. i guess if they were busy then they would rush a little bit more on your hair. Samir spent his time doing a really great job on my hair. I was really satisfied when it was all done. I would totally recommend him to cut your hair! It seems like to me from the other reviews, Frank(salon owner) is all about money and not giving the service we should receive even if we are not paying the regular price. I came here with a Groupon to try it out. I paid $27 for a haircut and conditioning treatment, which didn't seem like a great deal for a guys cut in the first place, but it was a convenient location for me so I figured why not give it a shot. I booked online and then tried calling them a couple of times so I could request a "Senior" or "Master" stylist, since a regular stylist is only $25 on their website. Both times I got voicemail, so I left a message asking for a call back. I didn't receive a call back until half an hour before my cut. They didn't say anything about the stylist, but were actually calling just to ask me if I was still planning to show up. Weird. I got there right at 11:00 and stood at the counter for 5 mins. No one greeted me or acknowledged me, even though you can see the stylists from the counter. I decided to sit down and another 5 mins later someone came over and asked if they could help me. I said I had an appointment at 11:00 to which she said "Ok" and walked away. 10 minutes later (now 11:20) someone finally came and got me. No apology or even acknowledgement that I'd been waiting quite a while. He sat me down and then left me for 5 mins to tend to something else. Again, no explanation or anything. Just disappeared. I'd already been waiting 20 mins, so why not wait 5 more I guess. The hair cut was fine, but went really quickly and was nothing special. I got the same kind of cut I've had as a walk in at the mall for much less, and not at all the same kind of cut I've had from a pro stylist for a bit more downtown. They used an electric trimmer on most of my hair - a higher end stylist would actually use scissors all over, and charge less than half of these guys. The guy then tried to charge me $14.40 for HST, claiming that he had to charge it on the full amount, which was $120. First of all, you never pay HST on the regular price, you pay it on the amount you actually are charged. When have you ever bought something on sale and then got charged HST based on the non-sale price? Secondly, I have never seen a mens cut in the Vancouver area for anywhere near the amount they're claiming they regularly charge. Looking at other reviews and my personal experience, this salon is very tricky and does not deserve to be in business! I went in because of an ad outside for $14.99 haircuts. The haircut was standard and satisfactory, but they pushed me to have my hair shampooed and didn't say anything about an extra charge. I also had a bikini wax and it was the worst experience I had ever had. The girl who did it was very inexperienced and caused my skin a lot of pain during and after. I would not recommend buying a groupon for this place or coming here ever. read more

If I could give a rating of less than one star I would. First, I bought a coupon voucher from Living Social. It was supposed to be for a $160 value, but I paid $39.00 for it. This whole experiene started out poorly from the very beginning. Before even using the coupon, I received an email from Living Social saying that the coupon I purchased had been redeemed! WHAT?! How is that possible when I hadn't even used it?!?! So I called the salon many times over the next three days, leaving 2 explicit messages and never receiving any call back. I then contacted Living Social and was told I needed to contact the salon directly. So, I kept trying to call again and after the 4th consecutive day (7 in total for those of you who are counting) they finally answered the phone. I mentioned to the guy who answered that I had left many messages and no one returned my call. He never appologized about it. I then explained that for some reason my voucher was marked as used when it wasn't and I was a bit concerned about it. He just said, "Oh, ya, it's ok". Again not explaining anything or even offering any kind of appology. As for my experience in the salon: Much like the other review no care or attention was given by staff to me at all. At one point I was placed under a dryer for a period of time. I was not offered any magazine to read or anything to do while passing the time under the dryer. If I had known, perhaps I would have brought my own entertainment. I could have even looked at my phone, but it was left on a hanger far out of reach. So while I am staring at a product shelf directly infront of me, my stylist was sitting on a sofa drinking coffee and reading a magazine. Geez! Thanks for caring about your clients. Finally, after what felt like an eternity I was offered a magazine. On top of that, while I was being styled another stylist kept walking between my chair and the mirror in front of me without excusing herself. This happened more than once. Very rude and inconsiderate. Geez woman, say something or wait till the client is out of the seat! Then while getting a trim another person was dusting all around the area I was in. After styling / trim, I had to go the the washing station for a hair wash. The chair I was asked to sit in was wet from previous use. They didn't even bother to wipe the chair before telling me to sit. And finally, on top of all that, Just like the other review, I was expected to pay HST on the BEFORE sale price. What should have been charged was $4.68. Instead I was charged $19.20. NO ONE pays HST on a before sale price for anything that I know of. I have done voucher hair salon service many times and was never charged in this manner. I will be returning there with my boyfriend to clarify this as I believe many other people are being potentially ripped off and I will follow up with Social Living to see what they suggest. read more

I came here for a deal for $29 that Included cut, wash, 5 foils and Moroccan oil. Just a heads up that I have had my dark hair dyed before so I know how it goes. My hair is healthy, long and I don't get split ends! Firstly, they were late, a wife and husband team, which I didn't know at first until I saw their "qualifications" they were 20 minutes late and I had to stand there like a fool waiting at 11:00. She said "there was traffic" with two Starbucks coffees in hand...right.. Then after she persuaded me to get more highlights, I did because I haven't done it in years... $30 for special, after she applied it she said I need toner for extra $20. Now I know have dark hair....but wouldn't that be included in the price...that was after she put it on..I said no..it's $50 then total, she said $20 and argued until I said $30 +20= $50. I didn't bother arguing at that point. I was already frustrated! So 3 hours later, I was done...not many highlights and very dry over bleached hair later I just wanted out and to go the bathroom! I paid her since she didn't know how to punch in the total nor how to work credit card, she charged me full price of the "value" so "$320" worth, a total of $90 after tips. Sukis doesn't even charge that $320 and my hair smelled of dye for days! My hair is also dry where she dyed it. She's a nice person so I even tipped her. Now I usually don't complain so I signed up on Yelp to help others...stay away...maybe just get a cut but they charge full tax on retail value...not right..should be on price paid not value..but like I said I wanted to get out and didn't want to argue about something else.. I just want to tell you a very unpleasant experience I had at one of the local salon in Vancouver. Re: Be careful of what you buy from the Daily Deals site I have purchased one of the daily deals from TeamBuy.ca $29 for a Cut, Wash, Style , Blow Dry, Moroccan Oil Treatment, and Partial Highlights for use at the following address: VIP Salon and Spa 3764 Hastings Street East Burnaby, BC I booked an appointed online the day before, and take time off from my work to give myself a make over treat. When I got there the girl in the front take me to the chair, and I show her the voucher that I have, but she was not familiar with it. Then she told me I have to pay 12% HST taxes on the original price of $160 in order to give me the service. She offered me another deal when I refuse to pay the taxes on $160, but not on the $29 that I have paid for. When I didn't accept this, then she told me to book another appointment at another location on Kingsway that they may take me there. Then there is a short fat italian man maybe the owner came to me, and told me just to get a refund from where I have purchased the voucher. Now listen to this! The guy told me that they do this promo to build a new Clientele, but not my type of customer, and told me to leave their salon. I bought the $29 daily deal coupon as it seemed like a very good deal (too good to be true?). This deal came with a haircut, shampoo, conditioning, style, blow dry, Moroccan Oil restorative treatment and partial highlights. I decided to forgo the highlights. The M.O. treatment was fantastic and my hair is still very silky, but that does not make up for the fact that I got the absolute worst haircut in my life. The young lady was very sweet and nice but this was unreal. First of all, I asked for 1-2 inches off and ended up losing about 4-5 inches. The first snip she made, right in the middle at the back of my head, almost made me cry. And it got worst from here. I went to East Vanity Parlour to get it fixed and the lady there said it seemed like she made a bad first cut and spent the rest of the hair cut trying to fix it. Anyway, after the lady at VIP finished cutting my hair, she blow-dried it and then asked if I wanted my hair flatironed for an extra $25... $25 to spend 5 minutes running a flatiron through my hair?! That is ludicrous... especially since I opted to not get the highlights and the deal clearly states "blow dry & style"!! So I left with very frizzy and partially dry hair. As I was leaving, the owner of the salon exclaimed "Wow! You are getting so much better!" to the lady that cut my hair ... this gave me pause as clearly she is very new at what she is doing. When I got home and got under the good lights in my bathroom I nearly burst into tears. My hair hasn't been this short in close to 10 years. And on top of that, the layers (which I asked to be blended to give my hair more movement) were blocky and choppy and so in your face obvious! And alllllll different lengths. I still fully do not understand how they were so uneven! When I went in to East Vanity Parlour 4 days later, the lady told me that my hair was a full inch longer on one side! After about 30 minutes with Sophie, my hair looks clean and chic ... although shorter than ever, at least I can wear my hair down now! I will NEVER go back to VIP Salon. Again, the young lady was so nice and I hate leaving bad reviews, but I feel I need to warn all those other people with the deal! Be VERY careful! This was, without a doubt the absolute WORST salon experience I've ever had in my life. I really wish I had read the other reviews on here before going. Also, based on those, I can't believe this place is in business. Frank (the owner) has no business doing hair. I got this "deal" through Groupon. All I wanted was the partial highlights it came with. But he insisted on doing my roots. I'll admit I'm a sucker for high pressure sales so I thought why not. Right away I had a bad feeling. The foils looked so sloppy. They were all over the place instead of neatly lined up like the usually are. And it was taking forever! We went to go wash and the chair and sink were so uncomfortable. He took out the foils and washed my hair, but kept coming out with more product. I was starting to wonder what was going on. Finally he admitted that he messed up and used too much, whatever the hell it was called, in the mix and therefore it was lighter than expected. Which is why he kept bringing out more toner to try and fix. And on and on it went, but he kept saying it looks good, don't worry. Finally I had to stop him. My scalp was killing me and the fumes were making me feel sick. So he finally washed it all out, and that was mediocre at best. I mean come on! You can't even wash? That's usually the best part of going to the salon. We went back to the seat but of course it being wet I couldn't really tell what was going other than it was much lighter than I wanted. The cut was terrible. He basically was just taking chunks out of my hair. No finesse at all! By the time it came to do my style I was exhausted so I told him to leave it curly. He managed to EFF that up too. My hair was so frizzy and he barely dried it. He kept adding more product but nothing was helping. He even used hairspray. Hairspray?! On wet curly hair, are you kidding me? This guy had no idea what he was doing. Oh no oil treatment to speak of, which was supposed to be part of the deal. He knew he had messed up and even admitted it but do you think he comped me anything? No of course not. When I complained about how awful my hair felt...which was like straw, he offered to give me some product for half the price, stating that usually it cost $30. That was the best he could do? I said no thanks. He also offered to fix it for free if I wanted to come back. But no way am I letting this guy near my head again. I should have made a stink and not paid at all but I suck at that and I was so tired, I just wanted to go home! The best I managed was not tipping him. The end result is my hair looks AWFUL! The cut is fine...I guess! But the colour is a mess! It's a mish mash of all sorts of blonds and browns. Some streaks are even platinum. It's going to take a team and hundreds of dollars to fix this. I went to this salon for my first time. My initial impression was that it was modern, clean and looked nice. I used a 'daily deal' coupon for $29 that gave me a shampoo, deep condition, cut, style and 5 foil highlights and this is the reason I went. The consultation was alright but the deep condition certainly did not feel like one, it seemed like there was no product in my hair while sitting there and my hair was still tangly. The haircut was alright not bad. After the finished style my hair was still 40% damp and there were chunks of wavy hair and my hair was frizzy, I could not believe I was supposed to walk out like that! After I paid and tipped I was still unhappy and I very kindly told the stylist (salon owner Frank) that this is not a professional salon finish on my hair and he pointed me to the price list and said people usually pay $55-85 for a haircut and so basically thats what $29 would get me and that he doesn't think he should spend the same time and effort for these coupon customers. I could not believe his answer! I told him to give the client a heads up when they come in their salonthat their experience would be mediocre. I would not even go to the grocery store looking like I did after I left that salon. I could not believ a salon owner would do such a job and have such lack of care on a client. Additionally, I did not even want to get the highlights with my package and therefore he had to do a lot less work with me and was still unhappy about the time and effort spent on me so I cant imagine the job he would do for a cut, style and highlight. After expressing my unhappiness and shock about my hair he offered for me to sit down again but after being there for an hour and a half and having my hair look like it air dried, I was tired and just wanted to leave. He then said my hair is long and therefore more work is involved and I should be aware of that. Hair stylists should be prepared for all sorts of hair types and textures, it certainly isn't my fault. We had a certificate that included highlights, but my daughter decided to go with a solid strip of colour at the back of her head. She is a red head and went with a bright red strip. (She had to pay $40.00 extra for this) Well it lasted two weeks and ran everyday. I have NEVER had such poor service somewhere that I felt compelled (obligated, even) to look this business up and warn everyone! I purchased a $29 Hair package that (according to their business card included a: "Haircut Shampoo Conditioning Blowdry, Style Moroccan Oil Treatment and partial highlights" According to Groupon however, it included: A haircut and blow dry (up to an $85 value) and A conditioning treatment (a $45 value). So right off the bat there was a miscommunication. (I should have known better). I walked in and was underwhelmed by the look of the place. I figured if a place regularly charges $130 for a haircut that I usually get for half that at my usual place -- it would be a hoity toity place -- it's NOT. I was not greeted by anyone, instead I popped my head around to see someone (who clearly heard/saw me come in) and say I was here for an appointment. It was literally socially AWKWARD! I decided to take the liberty of introducing myself to Frank (the owner I believe) and he gave me an equally awkward limp handshake and a look like: "I don't care who you are." I told him what I wanted (even had some pictures) and then he washed my hair in COLD water (I'm not even sure he covered my hair with the product or got my entire head wet) -- sooooo weird. Then He put in this conditioning treatment and left me with my head in the sink for "5 minutes". My hair was sopping wet and cold and my neck was hurting. Then the other stylist came by (after at least 10 minutes) and told me I could sit up. Frank told me that this woman would be my stylist but he had already forgotten my name (surprise, surprise) so I had to introduce myself again. I was just left a lone a LOT... there was NO communication, no offering of a magazine to read while I waited or a cup of tea or anything. I just sat there -- awkward and cold. Finally my stylist came by to re-wash my hair (like 20 minutes later!) She at least used warm water and got my hair fully wet but the wash was lame... and that's usually my favourite part. My cut was nothing spectacular... simple. it could have been done by anyone in about 10-15 minutes but it took my stylist 45 and she poked me in the eye with her scissors TWICE! (The only thing she really said to me was that sometimes she gets so into the hair that she forgets it's attached to a person and forgets to ask them to stay still -- !!!?!?!) My cut was fine, but not worth what they charged me (tax on the ORIGINAL price and an additional fee for the straight iron, plus 15% tip = over $50 -- and that's in addition to the $29 Groupon!!! I didn't want to argue so I just paid Frank and left him a tip about his punctuation on his business cards because it advertises a style not only a "blowdry style". Perhaps I would have left with a better taste in my mouth if they had just informed me of these hidden fees instead of simply surprising me at the till. All-in-all I paid $80 to travel far, have my hair washed in cold water, get a mediocre hair cut, and feel awkward for over an hour..... I normally don't do these online reviews, but this place was so bad that I felt it deserved a review and hopefully warn other people to stay away. I bought a Deal find coupon for the facial (2 hour-long facials for $29) back in April and thought I try it out. (seemed like a good deal at the time). When I called to book the appointment, the lady had a hard time with dates and I had to keep on repeating the date that I wanted for my appointment. At the end of the phone call, she informs me that in addition to the HST that I need to pay, I also need to pay $20 cash to the spa as the coupon was only for the materials not the time of the specialist. I went back to the coupon and nowhere was disclose that there are any additional fees! On the day of my appointment, I showed up and was informed by the receptionist that she does not have any record of my appointment, but asks me to wait. I waited for about 10 minutes and checked with her again to see how much longer I needed to wait. She informed me that since I didn't have an appointment, I need to wait for another 40 minutes or alternatively, she can rebook me for another time. At this point, I asked to speak to the manager. It took another 5 minutes before the manager came over and she informed me that she was waiting for me to pay the receiptionist so that she can start the treatment this whole time! (I did not receive an apology from either party on the confusion). So finally, I'm in the treatment room, which is not sound proofed and you can hear everything going on outside. Plus, the specialist kept on going in an out the room, slamming the door along the way, and keeping the door opening to have long conversations with people in the salon. The facial was just ok. The whole facial experience was not relaxing so kind of defeat the purpose of going to the spa, in my view. I called subsequently thinking that I must have had a bad experience and should try to use the other facial before jumping to conclusion. The first time I called, the person told me tha the specialist is sick and I need to call back in 2 weeks to try to book another appointment. I called back again today and this time was told that they are fully booked up until January 2013 and I need to call back in 2013. The only reason I gave this place is 1 star is that the rating section forces you to pick a star. Well..in order to write this review, I am forced to give it a star...I would have given it no star if that's an option. I agree with the previous review. My hairdresser moved away and currently am looking for a new one. Saw the Groupon thought I give it a try. I went in with a Groupon for a haircut, conditioning treatment and single pressed colouring. I should have read the review before clicking that 'Buy it Now' button...lesson learnt. I read other reviews..it seems like most of the Groupon customer had bad experience there. I purchased the cut & colouring package for $45 on Groupon. When I arrived at the salon, I was told that I have to pay HST on full price ($210). I was then provided a $29 coupon for a haircut and was told that the HST would be on $29. Why do I have to pay HST on a full price with Groupon's deal when a coupon provided by the salon I only have pay HST on the discounted price? It just seems suspicious to me....the HST I paid for $210 may not entirely for HST. I have a bob and asked for a trim. After the cut, one side is longer than the other. I asked the girl to fix it but she refused. She simply said: 'I don't know why you don't like it. I think it's fine'. I requested a senior or master hairstylist (on the phone and when I arrived) but wasn't provided one based on the cut I got. The website is misleading. No pictures of the salon was provided. Based on the prices/information provided on the website, I was expecting Axis/Pink Lime type/standard of salon service. The salon is far from that. I would never go back there. Stay way!!! Less then 1 star. Very disappointed with the customer service, work and an unexperienced staff. I purchased the voucher for $29 and it said that it includes a shampoo, deep-conditioning treatment, Moroccan Masque, five foil partial Highlights, Haircut, and Style. I scheduled appointment at 2pm and due to the traffic I called that i will be late but I was informed by the staff that that's ok. When I arrived at 2.20 I apologized and told them that I don't need to have haircut and foils done because I understand that we wouldn't have enough time. However, I was getting ready for my birthday dinner and told them that I would like to have shampoo, conditioning and a blow dry/style done and that I have to leave by 3.30-3.40. From my experience it takes around 1-1.15min and cost $50-60 at my favourite place Avantgarde to do all the things I expected. First, the hairstylist was already occupied with another client and they made me wait till about 2.55 before another apprentice started. Then 5min into that they had a power outage. Once this got resolved with my hair still wet at around 3.15 the owner informed me that they don't have enough time to do my hairstyle and that they will charge me $45 dollars extra to curl my hair because it's not included even tough the voucher says it is. I said I will pay for it. They never blow dried my hair and started to apply hot curls on my wet hair. It didn't hold at all. After 10min the apprentice started to use another hot iron which creates waves at the back part of my head and then another stylist was curling my front hairs with different style curling iron creating curls. Anyway to finish I end up with the worst hairstyle ever with 3 different curls-waves. When they finally finished At 4pm and the owner/manager saw the disaster he still said I had to pay $25+tax and I end up with bill for $58. My hair was total disaster and if the owner/manager of any other reputable hair salon saw how my hair looked like they would never charge customer for their horrendous job. I had to rush back home, wash it again and then style it and it took me only 30 min to do it the way I wanted in a first place. I would never ever recommend anybody to visit this "VIP" salon!!! When I called to complain, Frank said that "the hair takes a few times to turn blonde". I have been getting highlights for years and never had to go orange first. He then said that it would cost $40 for a toner!!! He asked me if I was a stylist, I think the bigger question is "Is anyone at that salon a certified stylist"? So they destroyed my son's lovely natural colour and then refused to take ownership to fix it. No stars here, just some inexperienced thieves trying to take your money. PIECE OF SHIT salon Samir was amazing at cutting and colouring my hair....however they absolutely ripped me off. It took 3.5 freaking hours first of all, because the owner kept sitting new clients down and then convincing them that they should wait for the master stylist because he can do the best job. So he kept having to leave me to go do the work that (Frank?) had started. Frank treats his clients and employees like crap. He claimed to do a "consultation" with me, where i basically told him what I wanted and he said, No you should get Samir to do it he will do the best job. So Samir did my hair and Frank was going to charge me $150 more than it initially should have been. I said absolutely not and he ended up not charging me for upgrading to the master stylist but still charged me $100 more than I planned on paying. I straight up told them i had the daily deal and wanted cut and partial highlights, and apparently that is not what they did! (which i had no idea!). As soon as I started getting upset with Frank he started whispering so that the other clients couldn't hear.....how scummy can you be as a business owner! read more

I Bought the $29 voucher deal, I called for an appointment on a wednesday February 1 and I got an appointment for that Friday, February 3. so no wait for an appointment. However when I booked the appointment I forgot to ask for a specific stylist (stylist, expert stylist & master). So the day of my appointment I called and asked what kind of stylist I was booked with and Frank (the owner) told me that it was with a stylist. i then asked if I could see the Master stylist and he replied that he was in but it depended on if he was available when I arrived for my appointment. He already knew I was using the voucher and said that if I did see the master stylist that it would be an extra fee. I then told him that the voucher specifically stated that there was a choice of any stylist. He then stated well the master stylist isn't available until March anyway. Even though 2 minutes earlier he clearly stated that I could see the Master if they were available when I arrived for my appointment. So it is clearly that he just wanted me to pay the extra fee. so I replied that I would like to cancel my appointment then, he said ok and we hung up. I didn't feel comfortable with what had occured and still wanted to try to use my voucher,since there seemed to be confusion happening on the phone I decided to go in person to the salon to clarify the voucher. I walked in and asked to speak with someone to clarify the voucher and I spoke with Frank again. He remembered our conversation so we agreed on the terms of the voucher with no further complications( which I felt never confused but he was clearly,as deal find as approved my refund). I then asked since I now understood what the voucher covered I asked to reschedule an appointment. He then offered me a couple of dates after February 20th, I asked for something sooner as I knew that he had it available from when i booked my first appointment. He then replied well I shouldn't even accept your voucher as you cancelled under 24 hours. i then replied I was never informed of a 24 hour cancellation policy. he then said, its on our website. I then stated well I was never told when I booked my appointment or when we spoke on the phone earlier, when we had our diasagreement on what the voucher included. As well, it was never stated on the voucher or the deal website. I said well if you don't want to accept it I will get a refund and he responded with you do that. I was appauld at the customer service I got and after the fact I learned that Frank is the owner. How could he expect to run and maintain a business with this kind of service. I had done absolutley nothing wrong and was a very polite customer from begining to end of my transactions with him. I never once raised my voice or got angry with him, which now I wish I had lol. At the end of it all I am happy he at least saved me from not spending a single red penny in his salon as it's not worthy of any of my money not even a cent. Especially with the other reviews on here that show what kind of service you do get for spending money and seems to be common that everything was for an extra fee!! Worst hair experience. I was supposed to get a Moroccan hair treatment - nope, barely got conditioner. My "haircut" was a JOKE. The lady took random pieces of hair and snipped a tiny bit of about 6 times. The cleanup job by my regular hairdresser was a bit drastic. I just wanted a simple blow out & they even messed that up. Zero Stars, if that was in the choices. Stay away, people! I had a coupon for two 60 minute facials. I should have been wary when I found that I couldn't book by phone, and on line there were no appointments until a year later!! But the deal had no expiration date. Well, that year's wait finally came, and I had two email reminders to be sure I wouldn't miss my appointment. I drove there, found parking etc., and certainly surprised the one young woman who worked there. She said they didn't do facials, and didn't even have an esthetician! She was thoroughly confused about what should happen, but did say she'd had this problem before. She gave me the number of Frank Milani, the owner, and I am in the process of trying to reach him, as well as Dealfind to attempt to get a refund for the total lack of service. I bought the package on groupon which said it was a value of $160 which included foils, cut and moroccon oil treatment. I got upsold to a colour that I hated and a cut by someone who must have just graduated from Great Clips. No foils and no morrocan oil treatment. It was terrible! I would never go back. read more

I've been reading all these reviews on how people bought a Groupon for this salon and then tried it and it was horrible. Well, this salon actually put their first deal on Dealfind. Many customers got refunds because they weren't satisfied and they had to pay $15 or more extra. Then I saw this salon posting on Groupon and i figured that Dealfind just stopped promoting them because Dealfind lost a lot of money. I hope Groupon will stop promoting them too. And now, I see them on Teambuy, and I just hope that people don't buy it because you will want a refund afterwards. so don't bother. read more

Do I have to even give a star? Worst haircut I have ever received bar none. I paid extra because the deal was for highlights versus lowlights. The cut was so terrible I now am considering extensions or a wig. Some trim.......and the color is not right either which should not have been a problem considering what I asked for was soft black instead I got a faded out brown. I went in to get a dramatic colour on my hair and left feeling more than satisfied with the result. It was my first visit to the salon and wasn't sure what to expect. They made sure I received the quality and time that my hairstyle required. Samir is a master stylist and artist and treats your hair like a piece of art work. I wasn't charged as much as his work was worth because I expressed what my budget was when I walked in the door. I had to remind myself that quality hair colour services cost money. I thought Frank was fair in his estimate of the cost of service. I was using a groupon and ended up paying a little more than I originally thought not because they were trying to rip me off but because I didn't know that what I was asking for was a little more complicated than I had originally anticipated. I would definitely go back. I had gone to other studios asking for the same colour and they always made excuses why it would not look good on me and I realize now-that my hair looks fantastic-that it was because they didn't have the experience to give me what I wanted and were likely coming up with excuses. read more

do not do not do not go to this salon!!!! They have no clue about customer service and the salon owner Frank will try to charge you more or give you less than what you think you will be getting. If anyone has the daily deal specials, YOU WILL NOT WALK OUT OF THIS SALON FEELING GLAMOROUS AND SALON CHIC! This is a horrible place! I bought a voucher on those daily deals which was supposed to include a cut, wash with shampoo and deep conditioning, plus Moroccan Oil treatment and 5 foils. I had to wait 30 mins after my appointment was to start and they didn't wash my hair, pushed me into buying more highlights, then told me I needed to add toner. They didn't ask me for a colour, they just did it. Then the receptionist started cutting my hair and she took forever! I was there for 3 hours! They did a horrible job with the dye and cut and I repeatedly asked for the Moroccan oil treatment. Then the voucher said that I was supposed to pay tax and gratuities on top of the voucher price, not the regular price.... I definitely was charged on the regular price and it was awful. DON'T GO HERE. WOULD BE SURPRISED IF THEY ACTUALLY HAVE A LICENSE TO CUT HAIR. read more

I didn't have great expectations, but my experience was disappointing even considering that. If I could give zero stars, I would. I bought an online coupon for a wash, cut, style, deep conditioning treatment, moroccan oil treatment and 5-foil highlights. Not only did I not get what I paid for, but the service was terrible as well. I voluntarily said I didn't care for the highlights, but would still like all of the other services in the coupon. The stylist said he wouldn't do the deep conditioning treatment because my hair is too thin, so he washed my hair and put volumizing conditioner in it. He never did the moroccan oil treatment. For the cut, I asked for a trim and lots of much needed shaping and layers. I walked away with a trim, no shaping or layers. He didn't ask me how I would like my hair styled; he minimally blow-dried my hair and straightened it. My hair was still damp when I left the salon. Also, the straightener kept catching my hairs and ripping them out. Side note: the hairspray he used smelled so bad I came home and washed it out of my hair right away. The coupon cost $30 and taxes were $20; which would have been great for the services I paid for, not for what I got: a wash and a trim. I would have much rather taken that money to another salon. The VIP website says 1.1 hours for the $29 special of a cut, 5 foil highlight, shampoo, style, and a Moroccan oil restorative treatment. They started about 5 min after my appointment time. I was going from long curly hair to a short style and was a bit nervous. The woman cutting my hair listened closely and gave me a great cut! She asked me several times if I wanted it that length or shorter so that she made sure to get what I wanted. I was there for 2 hours though and the people after me had to wait longer. The staff were real friendly once I talked with them and got to know them a bit but several of them had just so-so English and so I can see how someone would feel weird at first because they seemed quiet at first. But they gave a great cut and so I would go back. BTW, the man at the reception desk did try to sell me several things like hair products or more than the 5 highlights but I just politely declined. I would give it a 4 stars for the hair cut but 3 stars for the atmosphere being a little quiet and feeling pressured to buy product or more highlights. read more
