I didn't know she was a junior stylist until I was already seated, I noticed the she were asking her colleagues for opinions/suggestions and that's when I realized that she's probably a junior stylist. I wanted to get a very light blonde ombre and because I dyed my hair red before it was really hard to get to the colour I wanted. Brittany, Nicole and Stephanie were really great on giving Tania their suggestions and tips on how to come to the most possible colour i wanted. It took us over 4 hours to get my ombre done since I had red dye before. Tania was very patient and nice... and I like how she's not overly talkative, I hate it when when my hairdresser talks too much when all you want to do is relax and read your book. The ladies here are all very nice and helpful, nice ambiance! I'm not sure why is there reviews regarding the service prices. I think it's pretty reasonable, it's almost the same prices as everywhere else. Though I paid cheaper since I got a junior stylist but even then I think a master hairstylist is a fair price. Keep in mind though that it's easy to miss this place, there's no signage on the window that says Mint Lounge, apparently the sign is high up.

At my last visit, Lisa was having a bad day and told me she was unhappy with her own hair style and colour. She then decided, with malicious intent, to take it out on my hair. She preceded to destroy my shoulder length hair during a colouring session by over-processing. Later, she showed no remorse and acted like it was an every-day occurance. Do yourself a favour, in a world full of hair salons, definitely give this one a pass!

I owe you one!…read more I had recently had a close hairdresser friend put 18" hair extensions in; this was my first hair extension experience so I had no idea that what she was doing was wrong. The hair had been installed so close to the scalp that my actual hairs were being ripped constantly; I could see even see the white hair follicles.This caused my scalp to become extremely red, agitated, and sore... I put up with it for almost 2 weeks thinking the tightness would fade, as my friend had suggested. On Saturday night, frustrated by the constant pain and headaches, I decided to remove the extensions myself using a combination of conditioner and orchid oil. I had no idea how short my hair would be after the extensions were out and was extremely overwhelmed. Woke up on Sunday morning and googled "hair salon near me open on Sunday". Angelo's was one of the results and, having been there a child, I recognized the name and made dialed their number. From the very get go, the girls at Angelo's were extremely nice and understanding; they rushed me in for an emergency consultation to examine the damage. During my consultation I was offered coffee AND an appetizer... already I felt more at ease. Two hours later I was back to have the LOVELY Yana re-install the extensions. She did an absolutely AMAZING job, I didn't even feel a thing and to this day have not experienced one moment of discomfort. Although my friend had been the cheaper option, I will now go to Angelo's for all of my hair needs; thank you so much!

Now as a single parent this was a treat to myself both financially as well as for time away. At my consultation I was Sold on the new idea of instead of a reg. Cut/colour correction (back from dark brown to natural brown) that the hairstylist could give me a beautiful caramel/blonde balayage. Showed me photos directly from her phone. (This would allow me to grow out the top naturally). Fast forward to my appointment, 4-5hrs later my hair was done and curled for me by the stylist, my bill was well into the hundreds of dollars not including the box of products I bought into. With my bouncy curls and short hair I went home ecstatic, I loved it! (I have thick hair went from bum length to shoulder blade) Now the following day after a wash and dry Myself and family realized not only was the cut of my thick shorter hair straight across making it look like a helmet, but in the direct back of my head there were 2 massive bleach clumps dragged from my crown down to the ends!!! Biggest ugliest streaks directly in the back of my head! (The exact size of the brush full and through) Now here's my REAL PROBLEM! I called to make a complaint and request a fix, I was strung along by the receptionists, as well as manager until finally they said Angelo wanted to see my hair for himself.. so that's what we did. I drove down there where he inspected my hair and confirmed that it NEEDED to be fixed and he would do so HIMSELF alongside of a partial refund. It's now June 2020, and I've made over 5+ calls to receive my refund that "no one but Angelo can do", and have not heard back from him or anyone. I had an apt. For April 16 2020 for Angel to also fix my hair, but then we were shutdown. No one called, no one emailed. Now I stopped making calls during the pandemic shutdown, because we all know this is a hard time for everyone. However once they began sending out email alerts to buy product curb side I called as well as emailed requesting For Angelo to contact me so we can work something out... NOTHING!

When I arrived, I was impressed by how pristine and well thought out the design of the room was. It looks like a place that you'd find downtown. And I've been to many many salons in downtown. Price is reasonable. The salon itself is very clean and modern, with good lighting and lots of natural light which I find is important for color jobs. I'm surprised this place is not well known yet. Maybe it's recently opened. I had no problem booking appointments unlike some of the overrated salons in downtown. They also really take the time and listen to you and pay full attention to you.
