I've been bring my dog, Porter to Pet Smart for quite awhile for grooming…read more Cera does a wonderful job. Porter looks great. She is very kind to Porter and told me Porter is very well well behaved. Give Pet Smart a call and book an appointment with Cera. You won't be disappointed!

Extremely Rude and Arrogant…read more Wrote a review back in February and gave the place high marks. They still do a great job on grooming but at a price and I don't mean financial. Biggest problem we have had is the length of time it takes to get Watson groomed. Can take up to 5 hours but they swear it was only 4 but still 4 is a bit long. Normally my wife will drop Watson off and either she or I will pick him up. First a bit about Watson. Watson is a 18 months old this next week and loves people. He is what is called a "fluffy" which means he has a recessive gene and rather that have the soft silky inner coat and a course water proof coat on top, he has little of the top coarse coat. Coat is very silky and soft but somewhat long and still needs to be brushed out and like all Corgi's they shed a lot so they have to have the long hair combed out. It does take time and in addition, Corgi's grow lots of hair between their toes which needs to be cut out and we also pay extra to trim his nails. He's not low maintenance but we've always paid extra for that level of attention and as mentioned, the outcome has always been excellent. My wife mentioned that she thought the 4 - 5 hours seemed a bit excessive and it ended up with us sitting around the house, waiting for a call or going up at around 3 after dropping him off at around 10 or 11 am and still not ready. Susan, my wife when she addressed this, was told they have an Express Service where you drop the dog off at an appointed time and they the call you 10 minutes before they are finished with grooming. When my wife called to make the appointment and gave the information, someone in the background called out a warning " It's the Corgi" alerting everyone that this was going to be a high maintenance appointment. My wife booked an appointment for 8:00am which we thought was odd because they do not open till 9:00am. Still she showed up at 8:00 am along with three other patrons and 4 other dogs. None of the three groomers showed up till 8:05 am or later. Several hours later, we did get the call to pick him up. My wife left the house shortly thereafter and rather than leave Watson in the car while she went into Walgreens, she stopped on the way and picked up one item and then to PetSmart. She walked in and told the people at the front that she was there to pick up Watson and while she was waiting, she asked the manager about dog food. We are changing Watson's Dog Food in light of recent FDA findings and they did not carry or only carried larger bags of the new food recommended by our Vet. Susan has asked before and was told they were working on it. About that time, someone came from the back with Watson and we were told not to bring Watson back for Express Grooming because we had failed to show up within the 10 minute window of the call. At no point was it communicated that the "we will call you 10 minutes before" was a line in the sand and if you did not respond, we would be penalized. Someone later tried to explain that Express was generally used for Service Animals where time was limited but personally I think this was someone trying to make excuses. Susan looked at the receipt tonight and we were charged $11.00 for the Express Service but this was never a charge explained upfront. Not that that is a big issue because there would have been no problem with the $11.00 if we had got what we needed without the drama of "you can't bring Watson back" etc Grooming is excellent but the attitude and arrogance nd the way customers are treated is unacceptable. We will not be back and are currently looking for a groomer in the North Mecklenburg area. Susan is afraid to take Watson back here of a fear of retaliation for this review.

First grooming experience…read more Never had a problem in the store; However, the grooming salon was a different experience. First, let me say, I have an 11 month old lab puppy--He is hyper and can be hard to deal with because he is always happy, playful but very strong. I chose a male groomer for this purpose and made PetSmart aware when making the appointment that he can be hard to control. Since I have bathed him at Pet Market, I know these people have restraints for strong dogs. While the groomer was okay when I talked with him at drop off, I did not have a good feeling when I left. The entire vibe was off in the room with everyone and I already knew I would not be back when I signed the paperwork. I went up the road to Chick-fil-A and waited with the phone beside me. The manager called an hour later and said they couldn't do a service, which was a relief to pick him up. The manager explained he was too hyper but was nice about it. I was also told me when I got there, my dog had lunged at a couple of other dogs, which is uncharacteristic of him since he is a lover not a fighter. He is still a dog nonetheless and I was not there. They did offer another appointment time when it was calmer for him when I picked him up. I declined. Overall, I just didn't get the impression many of these groomers cared for animals. The vibe was off for a reason and that's enough for me.

We usually bring our (not so little) baby here to get his food and a nail grinding. When we walk…read moreinto the grooming area - making sure there were no other dogs inside - we were greeted by some of the groomers. At first we were communicating by talking across the room, seems a little unprofessional. Once we told them what we wanted they told me that another groomer is coming in at 4 and she will be the one handling the grinding (it was like 3 minutes from 4 o'clock), so we took Rocky out and went to look at some food. We had him on Blue Wilderness (Salmon) but the vet told us to maybe switch it up to another brand that is limited ingredients since he does have allergies. We were looking through the store and only found a handful of brands that I would actually feed my dog. We decided not to purchase our food here because 1. The vet suggested Taste of the Wild (which they did not have), and 2. We felt the food they provided was not up to par with someone we would want to give him. By this time, it was already after 4. About 4:10. So we walk back to the grooming area, and there she is (about to call us). Anyways, we leave him there and I took the receipt - which I had to ask for so I could pay - to the register. There was only one register open (out of the three they have) and I was the third in line, which is not a huge wait for me. But it was a holiday week, and fairly busy... Anyways, after a few minutes another register opens up but two people hop in that line. After what seemed like forever - my line started to move - YAY! But the person in front of us, had quite a few items to purchase and the cashier was complaining about how slow the computer was... We decided to move to another register (which had two other people), but actually went quicker than the first one we were in. I check in on YELP and received a $5 coupon for the salon, so I show them and it felt as if they have never seen this coupon before. The gentleman working did not know how to put the coupon in, so he grabbed another employee and she was a little confused so they got a manager. I would think that if they have a coupon out, they would make sure their employees know how to ring them in correctly - or at least know about the coupon. Anyways, I saw Rocky getting lowered so I told my fiance to grab him while I finish and pay. This whole time, the first register STILL had the same guy... I would think being a couple days before a holiday they would be well prepared and staffed accordingly. We ended up going to another pet store to buy his food, which is a little more expensive but healthier and better ingredients. I think next time we will go to another pet groomer and see if they are better. P.S. I have been here several times, and this is the worst visit. They are usually quicker and less of a hassle.
