I really enjoy going to this PetSmart. Everyone is so friendly and very helpful. They have some decent sales and coupons especially if you frequent there often. I have to buy a prescription food for my dog and it is a bit pricey so I do truly appreciate when I can get a few bucks off. The store is always clean and their customer service is fantastic. This PetSmart is located in Concord near the Target shopping center. The store is clean and well maintained. However, the signs are confusing if you are attempting to find flea/tick medication for the wolves. Once found, they are empty boxes that you must bring to the register. Once they have this, the cashier goes to a storage cabinet to retrieve the type of medication you want. Payment and service were fine. No issues at this PetSmart store. read more

I unfortunately met the general manager William,to night who had the worst passive aggressive attitude I have ever encountered. I come in there at least once a month, I have an account there. I lost my wallet a couple days ago and my bank is in Florida so, I asked if I could potentially, get a small bag of dog food for my dog until I receive my cards in the mail early this upcoming week. Without hesitation or taking a look at my account to see that I come in there often or attempting to help me try to figure out anything, he said NO. After three 3 grooming sessions at this Petsmart location my dog toby has not been the same The first time I took my pet here he was more than thrilled to go in the grooming salon but after the third appointment I've noticed that his behavior completely changed. He now cries and shakes when I take him which is absolutely concerning to me. Also, on 03/01/2022 I took him for a bath and full body haircut and his groomers name was Meredith. Although she was very sweet, I explained how I did not want my dog to be completely shaved due to a bad experience we had at another Petsmart location in Charlotte. She completely understood and she told me she would do anything possible to leave hair on his body. After 5 hours toby was finally done..... I go in the grooming area and my dog Toby is completely shaved.... I was very angry at the facts he still got shaved after I told Meredith not to shave him. His haircut was horrible, the hair on top of his head is totally in even and so are his ears... Lastly, what made me more furious was that his neck had blood due to the shave. It's been 2 days and it's slowly healing. I will never go to this Petsmart to get my dog groomed ever again!! read more

10 yrs of Petsmart loyalty down the drain! I booked a "Face, Feet & Fanny" groom for my 2 dogs online and the price online stated 25.99. When I arrived at the groomer I told her what I wanted... When I picked them up they looked "okay", but I was charged for full service groom of $41.00 per pup (typically I pay ~$49.00 for the full service cut). I told the groomer that I thought the touch-up cut is only $25.99. She told me that the prices had recently been raised and she didn't know what the new price was, that she only keys the service into the system and whatever the price is, it is. I informed her of what the price stated online and she suggested I speak to the manager to see if a price adjustment could be made. Well his idea of a price adjustment was a single $10 off coupon, claiming that he could not do anything about the prices and said, "I hope this helps". USELESS! Affordability was not the issue. The issue is that I may as well have paid $8 more for the full body cut. $41.00 for a touch-up cut is ridiculous. He asked me check my confirmation email and sure enough somehow the confirmation had changed over to state "full service cut". Regardless, the groomer did not cut any hair off of my dogs body, only did a touch-up cut! When I got them into the car I'll be damned that my puppy still had a piece of something (food, I dunno) caked in her fur near her mouth as she had when I dropped her off. Also my senior dog's cut under her chin was very uneven (see pic). The mediocre-ness of the cut is not the issue, because Petsmart is hit or miss with their groomers. The issue is this: DEAR PETSMART, STOP CHARGING DOGGIE-SPA PRICES FOR MEDIOCRE CUTS. AN $8 PRICE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A TOUCH-UP AND FULL-BODY/FULL-SERVICE CUT IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE!!! There is only 1 rockstar groomer at this location (Megan, the only reason they even get 2 star rating, although she deserves more) as far as I am concerned and she wasn't in tonight, so my mistake I guess for settling... I should have followed my 1st instinct and cancelled when the odor of the groomer's cigarettes got to me before she did! Funny thing is I actually selected a touch-up cut due to the fact that my regular groomer was not available and I reeeeally needed them touched up today. I am seriously considering seeking a private groomer because it's sad that when my regular groomer at a particular location is out that I have to deal with hit-or-miss service at a ridiculous price. Don't get your animal groomed here. The people that work here are miserable. They won't even say "hello" when you enter. They all look sad. I took my cat in for a full cut and wash which included a shave, ear clean, brush, wash, and nail trim. I asked them to cut her in a lions cut and basically all they did was shave half of her back. When I picked her up they told me she had fleas, so I took her back home and washed her. The water was so dirty, they clearly had not washed her at all. They didn't clean her ears, they were filthy. Her nails were barely trimmed. So when I got home, after paying $83, I redid the entire job besides the shave. Upon leaving, the person working there told me that I could come back and get her shaved again if I didn't like it. So I called the next day, and they told me I had to talk to the person who did the "grooming" but she wasn't there for another few days. I don't know why they couldn't manage to rebook it without the original groomer there? They said she would call back. She never did. What a waste of money. Never again. read more

The trainer here, Sharon, is amazing. She has been at this location for years now and she has trained two of my dogs. Not only does she train but she is very knowlegeable on pet nutrition and other needs. She has helped a variety of dogs ranging from stubborn to terrified to rescued from abuse situations. There are several dogs in this area that have gone through her classes and continued into therapy class that are now helping at hospitals and nursing homes. Sharon actually teaches the other petsmart trainers. I would highly reccomend this store for training. read more

Petsmart grooming was excellent! Dropped him off then picked him up about 2 hours later and he was all trimmed up, brushed out, nails trimmed, and smelled amazing. I took my 15-week old toy poodle here to get his first hair cut. I read the reviews, which all seemed at least remotely positive, and decided that this location was the best choice for me. Nevertheless, this was by far the WORST EXPERIENCE I have ever had in a store (and a nightmare of a first grooming experience) and I am traumatized by what occurred. On Tuesday February 21, I had an appointment at this petsmart. I was running late, but called ahead to assure that I could still be seen. When I arrived, I was greeted in a friendly manner and the check in process was very smooth. There were other fluffy furred dogs getting groomed, and they all looked great. This reassured me that they were going to a great job on my Bentley. I spoke to Karen and described what I wanted done. I said that he just needed a trim. His fur was too long and hanging in his eyes so he can't see. I like him fluffy, so I don't want anything cut. I just want it moved out of his eyes. She asked if I wanted the teddy bear/puppy cut (which leaves the front of the dogs face fluffy as well as the body.) I said yes, exactly! I also stated that he has an ear infection and cannot have his ears cleaned. I asked that she did not touch his ears, but simply plucked the hair/fur that was growing in them (which is a trend in toy poodles). She seemed to understand what I was asking for and assured it would be done. About an hour and a half later I was called to come get him. I came in and immediately my face dropped when I saw him. She shaved around his eyes, the front top of his head, and down the bridge of his nose (which is NOT supposed to be done for a teddy bear cut). She then trimmed the front part of his mouth slightly (but unevenly) and left the rest of his facial fur extremely long. This resulted in a blocky, chopped look (which is not what I asked for). She could see the disappointment in my face because she immediately asked if I liked it, to which I said no. She said that he would not sit still for her to round out the cut, which frustrated me. If he wasn't sitting still, I would've preferred a phone call rather than her cutting him at all. I checked his ears. They were completely clean, but the hairs were not plucked. I then stated that she did exactly what I asked her not to do and that he has an ear infection and his ears could NOT be cleaned. I also pointed out that none of the hairs were plucked. Karen stated that she did not clean the insides of his ears, just simply wiped the outer surface (there is obviously no way for me to check this.) She then said that a dogs ears cannot be plucked when they have an ear infection. This confused me because that was a direct recommendation from the vet. She then clarified that PetSmart does not allow ears to be plucked with an ear infection. Which made me wonder why she didn't tell me that when I requested it to be done in the first place. At this point, I am angered, and in shock about what has happened to my dog. Nevertheless, I had class at 2:00 and it was 1:30 and I didn't have time to request a manager. I just wanted to leave. Karen handed me a pamphlet summarizing the services and I went to check out. ** I'm not sure if I just had an inadequate groomer, or Karen misunderstood what I was requesting (although I'm unsure how that could've occurred because she called the cut I was describing by name), but this was atrocious. EVERYONE that has seen Bentley before this cut, and after, have stated that it is not flattering whatsoever. Not only is it not what I asked for, it's uneven. The only thing that Karen did well was his paws (which she trimmed and rounded). I really wish that if his movement was the issue, she simply would've left his face alone all together. I am traumatized by this experience and will NEVER return to another PetSmart for grooming. My mother suggested that I asked for it to be fixed, but it is such a horrible cut that I do not trust anyone from this location to touch him or cut him again. I love this Petsmart. I rescued two cats from here. I bought all of their necessary supplies when I adopted them. They had a great selection to choose from. I do wish they had more bowties for my cats. They have plenty for dogs, but not a lot for cats. They have really cute costumes at Halloween time. They do special adoption events regularly and always have cats available for adoption in the store. It is always clean and well stocked. read more

I took my puppy 4 1/2 months old to Petsmart, Bayfield Parkway, Concord NC for her 2nd puppy bath and trim. She is a Labradoodle. When my daughter walked in, one of the young ladies, blond with a ponytail (very young) was cursing up a storm and when she saw my daughter, said oops. Number 1 - That is so unprofessional. Then the desk clerk ran a steel comb through my puppy's fur to check for matting. None were detected and puppy went to the back. about an hour later, a groomer named Sarah called me and totally upset me by telling me that my puppy was severely matted! I was stunned because we had been really diligent in taking care of her and this was her second puppy bath in 3 weeks, so it was really surprising to hear this. After talking to Sarah. the manager, I felt that I had no choice. When the puppy came home, her face was butchered all the way to her ears; but her body was brushed out...no matting, no shaving. The hair on her face and her body was unevenly cut throughout. Her beautiful coat was butchered. The puppy that I sent to the groomer was not the one that I got back. Petsmart charged me $85.00+ to butcher my puppy! My biggest concern is the attitude of the young groomers who appeared to be high schoolers on summer jobs. A lady with a partially shaved head had to tell the blond ponytailed groomer to get the dog that she had worked on out of the open where she had left it for over 30 minutes!!!That should not be the case with our canine family members, who we invest much money to keep safe and properly groomed. What is really happening behind the doors? My puppy was totally, absolutely traumatized when she came home! Secondly, what is the point of the person at the front with the steel comb? Shouldn't all training on discovering mats be the same? Why did we not feel or see the "severe" matting, which we were looking for at home? thirdly, how did you miss the "matting" from 3 weeks ago - or at least the beginnings? How can you charge me that amount of money for a "puppy bath and trim". When I called the manager, another Sarah, she told me that when she called me, the first time to warn me of the need for my puppy to be shaved, that she couldn't really tell at that point and that she was only warning me. What!!!???? I promise you that when she talked to me, there were no other options indicated but to shave, or I could bring her back home and work the mats out myself. And that her groomer had to spend 1 1/2 hours brushing my puppy out and that it was hard on the groomer????My family has 3 dogs that we have taken to Petsmart. over the years...today marks the end of an over 8 year relationship... Needless to say, I have learned a couple of lessons...listen to my vet, who warned me about using Petsmart for my doodle...(or at least this particular location at Bayfield), continue to groom my high maintenance dog on a regular basis (bi to tri weekly with brushing in between), find a reputable groomer and finally.....learn to love a poodle until the doodle hair grows back in..... read more

I am a Petsmart customer for over 10 years but I doubt I will be back to the Bayfield location in Concord NC. I went to buy some small tetras for the fish tank. I drove a considerable distance, stood alone chose the fish. The sales associate approached me, asked in a strange assertive tone what size tank I had, without the what I thought should have been a helpful greeting. I answered but it felt weird as the young lady then asked abruptly how many fish were in my tank. I thought it none of her business as she was not sounding friendly. I made it short and answered anyway, a quick guess. She answered quickly that my tank would be overstocked if I bought more fish. Trust me, I told her, I have had a tank for most of 50 years, there's no issue of over stocking. I said what small tetras I wanted. Silence followed and she left to go to her counter, a considerable distance away, I actually thought she was leaving, but she turned and reiterated in what I felt was a harsh tone, that I was going to be overcrowding my tank. I just had it by then with her attitude. I only came for fish, not fish AND an attitude! Her abruptness, unfriendly manner was not what I was in the mood for so I walked to her at her counter and quickly told her I was not going to purchase due to how she had been speaking to me. I went straight to the front counter and asked for the manager, he appeared and I explained how annoyed I was with the odd encounter with his young sales associate. He said he would speak to her. What I really thought should have happened was an apology that was sincere instead of defending the associate as she gave me the seemingly harassing treatment. I left there feeling like someone had whipped me for being a bad customer. I'm going to tell you, I am not giving my business to an establishment that instigates such behavior with customers. If I were that manager I would have been head over heels apologetic and would have suggested he help me himself. He probably knew how upset I was even though I was assertive yet business-like. He just let that customer go, assuming I would not be back. I am not thin skinned, but thanks to Petsmart, you have kickstarted my need to let others know about this location and terrible treatment. I'll drive further yet to shop mom and pop pet stores. They appreciate people's business. read more

After 5 years of using Petsmart grooming on Bayfield Parkway in Concord, North Carolina, I'm sorry to say February 12th was the absolute last time I will step foot into that store. I don't know what happened during those 5 hours they had my dog, but she hasn't been the same since she came out of there. First of all, she's a small, 17 pound Cavachon, friendly and calm. She's not a difficult dog to handle by any means. I did notice there were no groomers that I recognized, so maybe that should have sent a red flag up. When we got to the car she couldn't jump in as she normally does, I had to pick her up. She spent the next 2 days barely moving - she was shaking like a leaf for no apparent reason, and just laying on the floor, whining and crying out when we tried to touch her. She couldn't jump up on anything, or jump down. When we go to pick her up, she yelps and is extremely apprehensive. She has never reacted like this before, and loves to be held. It is now February 24th, TWELVE days later, and she still cannot jump up on the sofa or bed, we have to lift her. She barely plays with her toys and still doesn't run. She's just now starting to jump down. She is clearly sore under her arms, front and back, and I'm not one to complain for no reason, but anyone can figure out my dog was treated roughly. She is clearly showing signs of this. And it will take time for her to trust anyone again. After spending $68 and a tip, mind you, because in the past I always appreciated their good efforts, I feel extremely angry and sickened by this. I will never go back in your store again, for grooming or anything else because of this. Don't send me your generic response to email your support team either, I don't want it. I will warn all the pet owners I know in the area to be aware and judge for themselves. Can I prove this?
