I moved here two years ago and tried everywhere, including the spas where I had my wedding prep done. No one comes close to VIP when it comes to nails. VIP is much better than any comparable nail place or spa I have been to, including my hometown (NYC). Unsurprisingly, it's a popular place so MAKE AN APPOINTMENT, and tip in cash - your nails show class when you do. If it's unacceptable, consider your last tip and how you treat the people who provide your services. To the negative reviewers: of course the licensed aestheticians are upset when their written policies are disregarded; you acknowledged you knew the cash tip policy prior to employing VIP services and it appears that y are the exception to the rule. I wouldn't prioritize scraping the dead skin off your feet, either. read more

I asked for coffin shaped nails and told him they did not look coffin and to fix it and this was the final result and then the owner came out to my car when I left to ask me to tip. They always want you to tip even when you are not happy with the service - someone needs to remind them that tipping is optional. The quality of work is fairly good, but the ANC was a little thicker than I'd like. The shoulder massage while your nails dry is a nice touch. I may return at some point because the location is convenient. But I'll also be exploring other options. Because, whoa... They are pretty aggressive about receiving tips in cash only. If the numerous signs that read 'please pay tips in cash only' aren't enough of an indication, they also remind any noncompliant customer multiple times with a bit of attitude that they prefer cash, and tell them to please bring cash next time. If they want cash that badly, they should get an in-house ATM. And it simply isn't good business practice to sacrifice customer service for a little extra untaxed money. Normally, I'd bwilling to stop at an ATM beforehand, or even give a better tip on my credit card. But maybe not after hearing multiple customers scolded for not paying in cash. This was the worst salon experience I have ever had. The pedicure was subpar. I paid the extra money for callous removal and that was hardly done. The nail polish chipped off by the end of the day and not because I didn't let them dry properly before leaving. Glad I brought my own polish so I can touch up myself. Overall, definitely not worth the money, but not why I'm leaving this review. Now the manicure- truly the worst mani of my life. This was my first time getting ANC so I wasn't 100% sure what to expect but this was certainly not it. He started off right away by applying the base coat. i I thought it was strange but maybe a just different order from normal gel/polish manis because it was dip? He never had me so much as wash my hands before getting started. No hot hotels, no cuticle care, no hand sanitizer, nothing. Disgusting to think that he was dipping my nails in powder that had definitely touched other people's unwashed hands. Apparently I had to request cuticle care for an extra fee, but this was never mentioned to me until after the ANC was complete and I asked if he was going to do my cuticles. In retrospect I should have mentioned something then but I figured I would trust the professional and let him do his job. After the top coat he asked if I wanted rounded or square nails, I said rounded. What he did was not rounded, he shaped my nails into literal CIRCLES. Hideous. I had grown my nails out very long and he filed them down to these round nubs. He proceeded with the dip and finished off with the top coat and sent me to the dryer. He left so much debris under my nails, there was dip powder residue all over my fingers, and the ANC was attached to my skin on either side of the nail. I was so shocked by the entire experience that I didn't even know how to express my frustrations. I'm not someone to make a scene so I just paid my bill, tipped 20%, and got the hell out of there. TLDR: this place is disgusting, unsanitary, and the work is sloppy. There are so many other places to get a manicure in Bethlehem. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

My pedicure was great but my manicure was not. I could have painted my own finger nails better. My boyfriend got a pedicure for $25 and my regular mani/pedi was $35. The interior is really nice and air conditioned, the spa chairs are high quality with nice massage backs. The nail tech did a good job of cleaning up my gardeners feet. The pedicure included removal of some callouses, a leg/foot massage, heel oil, and lotion. You could pay an extra $5 for more callous removal. They offer gel as well. A gel manicure was $30. They have special pedicures, lavender, raspberry pomegranate, green tea and a few others. We were walk ins and they took us right away. read more

I have been going to this salon since they opened- they have always been my favorite. The owners are usually very kind and run a nice salon. They do a very good job here. The person who did my mani/pedi (his name tag said Peter- not the owner) was great. Unfortunately, I won't be back. I get my nails done once every two months or so as a treat to myself, and the last time I came in I left feeling uncomfortable and embarrassed. I did not have any cash on me, and I asked if I could add the total tip amount (I always tip ten dollars on a 35 dollar total) to the card. I do understand that they want tips in cash, but I didn't have any on me at the time and I honestly forgot. The owner demanded that I go get cash from an ATM and come back, and I did not have time to do so. I indicated I could pay the non tip total and come back the next day with cash (again, I was a regular, live locally, and would have come back) or I could add the tip to the card. The owner started to look into my wallet to see if I had cash, and raised his voice and told me that I had been there before and I knew the rules. I have never felt more uncomfortable in a situation in my life. It was incredibly busy, and I was surrounded by other customers. I let him know I wouldn't be back. I'm sad to leave here, but they are very popular ( I had an appointment, was on time, and still waited 20 minutes to be seen- hence not having time to go get cash from the atm) so I'm sure they won't miss me. read more

After reading the reviews, I knew I should have not come here. However a friend has been going here for a long time and I thought it couldn't be that bad because I understand that some trash people leave reviews that are not 100% truthful. After my own experience, I now know I will not be returning and would not recommend this place to anyone. I will explain each detail of my experience here, so if you do not like long reviews, sorry. Two friends and I had appts at 6:30pm for pedicure and ANC on hands. While they were already being attended to at the pedi chairs, I sat and waited on the couch. About 15 mins after my appt start time, I was called over by my friend to sit down and wait with them in the pedi chairs. I put my feet in the bath and about 10 mins of soaking a gentleman came over. I was watching my friends get their treatments so I was aware of what was about to happen. The gentleman did not even do half the steps my other friends were receiving. One of the steps I watched my friends was bags of wax were tied on their heels. I had the bags of wax but they were not tied. No biggie, right? Wrong. Everything was rushed and once it came time to paint the toenails, he claimed the color I chose was "too light". He told me I needed to get up and go pick another color. Fine, but why wasn't the color addressed when he asked me before he started touching my feet. So I get up and shuffle to get a new color with untied bags of wax on my feet. I quickly left a trail of wax all over the floor and the bags obviously did not stay cause they were untied. I picked the bags up and returned to my seat. I felt frustrated. He didn't address the wax on my feet at all nor did he acknowledge the bags and tossed them to the side. He then painted my toenails and the pedicure was complete about 10 mins before my friends, who have been in the chair about 25 mins before I was approached. Once I sat down to have ANC put on my hands, I was cut on my pinky by the gentleman and the ANC is bumpy and rushed. I got this done yesterday and it's peeling and still is sandy looking. It is too thick and frankly I don't think it looks nice. Once finished I sat on couch to wait for my friends because once again, I was done about 10 mins before them. I went to take off the flip flops they provide and put on my own shoes and noticed there was a bunch of wax left all over my foot. I was peeling the wax off and he was shouting at me that the nails were dry, I responded with I knew the paint was dry I was peeling wax off my foot. His coworker continued to mop over my foot an bag that was sitting next to my feet. I went to then pay and handed the woman up front my debit card. She asked if I could pay in cash or credit. I responded no, debit card and she continued to inform me that I must pay tip in cash. I said okay, signed the receipt and left. I wanted to provide details - I hope anyone that goes has a much better experience than I did. I will not be returning. read more

Just got back from my first visit to VIP Nails for a gel manicure ($30), and I have nary a complaint to report! They were polite and efficient - got me in and out on my lunch break. Camille took care of me, and she was great. When she saw the color I had picked (someone else had pulled it for me), she clarified how it looks after it dries and advised me to layer a different polish with it to get the look I wanted (and she was totally right). She also did a great job cleaning up my dry, wintry, hangnail-ridden hands. AND they gave away a free bottle of hand lotion with the manicure (for the holidays, I assume). I've been coming here religiously every 2 weeks for 2 years. I came in at 735 on a Friday night and everyone was still busy finishing up on clients. I was there to get ANC and had one tip on one of my nails that needed to be removed. The manager had me wait for 10 minutes before telling me she wouldn't have time to do my nails bc of the one tip I had. There were at least 6 other technicians finishing up so I don't know why I couldn't have had one of them. In the past I've come closer to 8 which is when they close, and they still took me. I've worked in customer service my whole life and that is not how you treat customers. They should have locked their doors if they weren't gonna have time for anyone else. Long time customer, this place has seen better days. when I first started going here, the staff was friendly and welcoming. the salon is super popular so at peak times expect a wait even with an appointment. Now they rush you out and skim on service. they dont use clean tools between customers unless you remind them, gross. used to get a big welcome from owners, now its like Sam et all have forgotten their first customers. the last few times i have gone, its been a disappointment. rough treatment, anc under my nails. Kept thinking it was a one off, but after 3 lackluster services ( anc mani and pedis), I'm taking my business elsewhere. with an appointment expect to wait 15-30 minutes during peak times - weekends and Fridays, before holidays. read more

The owner is so nice. The little one Tina is fantastic. They do the ANC and its great. They have a better selection than other places that do the ANC. The colours are so bright. Worst experience ever! Was charged multiple times on my card for amounts i did not authorize. I made an appointment, was on time and told i couldn't get a pedicure because they had another client coming in, even though when scheduling my appointment i told them both nails and feet. Due to the time crunch i opted out of a pedicure and just requested a color change on my toes instead ( quicker service) and told the nail tech that any one available could do it for me, i wasn't going to be picky. He proceeds to do the color change which I'm totally fine with. He leaves me drying with both feet under the UV light and goes to his next client. When i assumed i was done because the light on the drier turned off and my nails felt dry i was yelled at to sit back down because they weren't by another employee, which i did. Then my original nail tech comes over and snatches the driers from under my feet and tells me they're dry. I go to pay, they assume that they will be getting tipped, which i always do! But they basically yell at you to tip. I told them I'd venmo their tip to them ( they have the venmo code right there where you check out so clearly that's a form of payment). I tell the man repeatedly to charge the amount of the service to my card and I'd tip separately as i was uncomfortable from being yelled at, having my serviced rushed through and basically because it's up to me if i want to leave a tip or not and for how much. For my $75 services they swiped my card and charged $100. When i said no, they voided the transaction and charged it again$90. Then did it again for a charge of $80. By the time he charged me $80 i was so shaken up and after telling him with the previous charges that those were not authorized by me i just wanted to leave and told them now i will not be tipping because wth. I then had to venmo them the $75 and waiting for my almost $300 to go back on my card. I've never experienced such rude and entitled service. read more

Went to have a "me" day and place was recommended. Initially was great. Pedicure was awesome for long spa one. Nice lighting and appeared clean. Very friendly at first. Then the owner left. Friendliness out the door with him and rush began. Nails took a long time with guy complaining the entire time. They do not use individual files and buffers. When I asked him to he became even more upset. He cut my cuticles multiple times and completely ignored my "ouch" several times. I am rating not on the nail service or shop itself but only on the very basic customer service. We are from out of town and just stopped in because this nail shop was only a few minutes away and we just wanted a manicure & a quick polish removal and file. There were about two people already waiting and the two ladies who walked in before us went and sat down so we figure they were locals and had an appointment. There was a sign in sheet that was blank so that confirmed our theory. So we are just standing there. We understand the nail techs were busy, still no one acknowledged us. One lady nail tech got up to get something so we quickly asked her how long you think the wait would be and she literally snapped at us and rudely said "I don't know sit down". I blew it off as we are in NY then again that was unnecessary so we left went to the next nail shop on Yelp and was kindly greeted. That's all we ask for any business that we go to. I was a semi regular customer here and let me tell you there's a reason I no longer am. Not only do they not use proper hygiene when doing pedicures (using my dirty water to rinse off tools, rinsing off my dead skin into the water melt feet are soaking in, etc.) they are also incredibly rude. The LAST time I went there I went with one of my best friends and wanted to treat her to pedicures. As she has been having a hard time financially I agreed to pay the full amount for pedicures and asked her only to pay the tip since I only had my card and they absolutely do not take tips on card. So she agreed but once again has been struggling and did not have a lot of cash either. However as I was a regular there I just made a mental note to leave a fat makeup tip the next time I stopped in. Even then the tip was not under a reasonable amount but I still like to leave more. Anyways when I gave him my tip his face dropped and he began peering into my wallet and counted it slowly in front of us while making rude little grunts and sighs. While his (male) technician was professional and respectful, my tech, another female tech and the female owner of the place were talking about him in Chinese and not being kind. I could see the owner glancing at us while giggling but as I don't speak Chinese I just had a hunch. I have been going to VIP for over two years. They used to have a great service, but the last 4 times i've been there i've been less than satisfied. I made an appointment each time I have gone and I've had to wait at least 45 minutes for my service to begin. They are less than friendly when you come in and rush your service. I've had ANC manicures chip within the first week of getting them done because they rush and don't take their time like they used. They also don't also use clean tools each time they have a new customer, which is extremely concerning and thats how extremely harmful diseases spread. I used to be a loyal customer every 2-3 weeks, but I unfortunately will be finding a new place to get my nails done. read more

I've never written a review before and dont say this lightly. Horrible! I went for a simple pedicure, a luxury I don't treat myself to often. They started with scalding water and barely turned on cold water when I asked. Ripped off my cuticles and made me bleed. Was way too rough with the buffer for your feet and cut me again. The woman doing my mani was working so fast that she took a big chunk out of my cuticle. Five weeks later and the cuticle still does not look right. I realize this is a risk of getting manis, but I've never seen anyone work so fast and carelessly. She also didn't wipe off the cuticle cutter between working on each of my nails, so by the end it was filled with cuticle cuttings -- gross. When she finally realized she had cut my cuticle and it was bleeding, she tried telling me my nail was already like that when I came in. Seriously? First and last time here for me. read more
