I was super upset with this restaurant.. My boyfriend & I came in on a Sunday morning. Stood at the door waiting for some one to sit us, say hello, good morning anything! We went to the Vintage Cafe for lunch, sharing a Reuben. It was very good. The cafe was vintage, with lots of Tiffany lamps. Good place!

The food is alright for your standard pub grub with affordable prices. Its more like a steal...they have a daily specials which are really cheap ($5 to $6). The food isn't amazing (again it's your pub food), and the portions are acceptable (not too little that you are hungry but not too much that you are bloated). I think the selling point on this place is the building itself. It truly is vintage with old school tables and chairs, brick walls, and antiques. It's only a two star in my mind but I still go there because of the affordable prices. I'm sure if the food was a tad better, it would easily be a 3 star. read more

I ate here back in 2006 durring the day its an everett caffe mainstay with fantastic fish and chips! Bring the "later" evening and the vibe changes from family to bar and grill with an allllmost anything goes attitude. I remember the place being super friendly, and the fish and chips were great, as were the martinis. I had a server and the manager help me with some decorations and pre-fix menu for a special evening and everything turned out purrrr-fect! they were thrilled and excited to help!! I was killing some time and spent a few hours here in the morning. It's a cool older building and the interior was clean, and the waitress friendly. However the menu and the guy cooking needs some serious help. The presentation is bland as well as the food. It's as if there is no pride taken and it's a matter of throwing something on a plate and taking your money. Maybe it's just hard finding good help but with all of the great restaurants around it's hard to imagine something so lifeless as this. The presentation and quality was something I would expect at a hospital cafeteria. The Chicken Plus salad I had was all iceburg lettuce - some shredded cheddar cheese - a few bacon bits - two wedges of tomato - and a tiny portion of what looked like microwaved chicken breast. It was horrible, and most of the salads on the menu looked to have the same basic ingredients other than the meat. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone that is anything but extremely hungry and has low standards. Food was so-so. The poutine fries and burger were good but the monte cristo sandwich was so dry I couldn't even take a few bites of it. The breakfast is the best in town and possibly in the greater surrounding area. Much better than Denny's or IHOP or whatever. They make killer cocktails too, a breakfast and a martini is a great combo and priced affordably. Next time I'm there I will take a picture of the cocktail serving glasses and bowls it's pretty cool all on the happy hour menu. It's a beautiful space and you can really go there to low key chill and drink. I would advise they could add some music to liven it up a tad, some jazz or Starbucks eclectic type stuff but targeted towards the vibe of the historic building. Good food but not extraordinary. The waitress very polite, but the kitchen very slow on a day that really wasn't very busy. I think my mother and I sat for about an hour waiting for a single hamburger and some poutine to split between us. The side of Mac and cheese tasted like it came from a box, with just a bit of extra sprinkled on top before it was baked. Still a good side- because mac and cheese- but a bit disappointing. Overall it was a bit disappointing. I'd come here again, the prices were good and the food nice, but only on a day without a deadline. Poutine tasted like the fries were undercooked a little as well. I'd be more inclined to come again if the service sped up, but I don't know how they could fix that beyond hiring another cook and/or expanding their kitchen. read more

The food here is okay but I love the look of the place. I just moved to the area and I've been here a few times by myself to grab a quick bite for lunch. I do have to complain about the cook that was working yesterday. After a run to the dog park with my dogs, I dropped by for lunch and the cook came out of the back to mansplain and yell at me in front of the entire restaurant about having dogs in the car. After he launched at me, I politely explained that we just left the dog park, I was parked in the shade, the windows were half way down and that they had water, but he was not having it and stormed off. I grabbed the check and walked out right after, and he was outside on his phone talking about my dogs. He quickly scuttled back inside and peaked his head out, while I just shook my head in disbelief and drove away. The dogs were very much happy and fine. I was in the restaurant for a total of 20 minutes. I understand that this is a touchy subject. I get that cars heat up quickly, I read the bill that passed, I've read the articles on social media and given by the humane society. And I agree with them. I just can't help but feel that people simply freak out when they see a dog panting in a vehicle before properly investigating why they may be panting. If every time you sweat while working out someone stopped and yelled at you for trying to kill yourself because you're too hot you might understand what I'm trying to say. It's a bit much. The way that he handled his opinion was extremely rude and unprofessional. You do not just yell at a guest. I appreciate his concern for my animals, but he took it way too far and was not understanding when I explained that I knew that I was doing. As a side note, I've worked with dogs for seven years, I've also had these dogs for seven years and we go to the dog park daily. I've never had a dog get heat exhaustion in my care in my life. I would never put any dog in harms way. Yes, do not put your dogs in a car with the windows cracked in a hot parking lot with no shade. I stand by the fact that It is okay to have dogs in the car with the windows half way down, with water, in the shade. Have some common sense here. Biscuits and gravy were so good! The gravy was thick without being mucousy, and stayed warm. I deeply dislike cold snot gravy on my biscuits. The biscuits themselves were a little too dry, but that's way better than too moist-I also deeply dislike mushy biscuits. I ordered a side of sausage and got four links! What?! Prices are reasonable. The selection of different food here is not bad at all, it is what you would expect of normal pub style food. The food itself is really worth coming here, but the service is always lacking. You may wait 30 minutes to have your glass refilled or to have anyone noticed that you are there at all. This is been the case when I have come each time to this restaurant. It has a lot of charm with the Decor, the brick and the historic building itself is very cool. I wouldn't go here. Rude hostess staff 2x's. Super slow to seat. Super slow to take the order and super slow to bring the food. The sausage and bacon were burnt to the point crispy dark specks kept coming off on the plate when we tried to cut it. My wife and I went here on a Friday night and I had fish & chips, she had the french dip (not exactly the name of the dish) we were impressed the food was great, portions were generous, the roast beef on my wife's sandwich wasn't a thinly sliced from Costco it was chunks of roast beef like I prepare at home. The atmosphere was great, not too loud but very friendly. I would have given it 5/5 but one of my 3 fish portions was 1/2 fried batter and a bit overcooked but other than that it was excellent and we would return and plan on it. Great place! read more

I went in for dinner tonight with my 3 granddaughters and daughter. I have been here before for lunch and always enjoyed the fish and chips. But tonight tried something off dinner menu. The steak bites with mushrooms onions etc. Wasn't impressed. When I called to see if I could talk to someone of authority about an incident late last week I was asked if it was Providence related. Come to find out they have given out customers first and last names off the credit card receipts to other patrons!! I have never had good service at Vintage nor have I ever had a meal that I was pleased with. The food is bland and the presentation is never anything spectacular. I went in last Sat to meet a friend (after I swore I would never go to Vintage again). The mimosa I ordered was about 4 oz total of beverage and they charged me $6.95. When I addressed the price the bartender said I should have asked for the rest of the bottle. When I responded that I did not know there were free refills she told me I was being very rude. We had a small party of three for dinner on the night of a concert at the Xfinity Arena, after waiting a bit we were able to find a table. The woman that "helped" us we found out was the owner. She was in no hurry to help anyone or even be polite. She complained about the group before us and was put out at the thought of assisting us. The restaurant has a warm, cozy atmosphere, with great artwork and vintage pieces decorating the place. We sat at our table, and were greeted by out waitress who was friendly and brought us our drinks. We ordered our food, I had the chicken sandwich ($8.95). When we got our food, it looked great, and tasted great too! The portions were generous for the price. We were very pleased with our experience and will likely be back to try their 3 course dinner (looks like a great deal at only around $12 per person). I would consider giving this place zero stars if I could, which is extremely disappointing. My boyfriend and I live nearby and used to go to Vintage quite frequently, but as of recently it is a JOKE. We continue to get the same server (not sure what her name is), who is new to the restaurant but honestly a joke of a server. I've been in the food industry for almost 7 years, and this is the only second bad review I have ever written because it deserves attention. She is unbelievably rude to my boyfriend and I whenever we go and unfortunately sit in her section. The first time we had her, she hardly checked on us and was immediately rude when she asked how we wanted our eggs cooked for breakfast. I was explaining to her that we like them almost poached, more like poached soft and she gave us a dirty look claiming "she had no idea what we were talking about." Later on, we had to wave her down to get our boxes and check, she never comes to see how we are doing, no refills, nothing. She tried to come by THREE times with to go boxes that had dried food and coffee stains inside, disgusting!! After she dropped them off I had to wave her down once again to ask for a different box each time, and when I asked if we could get a new one because these boxes seemed used she told me they weren't. I was getting very angry with her attitude at this point and pointed out all the coffee stains and dried lettuce. And that was only our FIRST experience with her, I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, maybe she was having a bad day, but her attitude continues. I decided to write this interview today, because we had her once again this morning and that was the final straw. When we ordered, she was already extremely short with us, when she finally gave us our food she had mixed up the orders, and she never checked on us once!! I wanted a refill on my drink but once we finally got her attention and waved her down we were already finished eating. We got our ticket, my boyfriend paid with a card, and upon returning it- and I kid you not- she slammed the bill back on the counter. No "thank you," or "have a good day guys". I awkwardly said "uh, thanks?" and she just glared at me. We've had this server like I said a handful of times and she always makes our experience miserable. Honestly one of the worst servers I have EVER had. It's a bummer too, because we like all the other servers a lot. They're nice, personable, and inviting. Don't work in the food industry or customer service if you're going to act like this. Suffice it to say, we are not returning.
