The worse service I have ever received at a nail salon. Got there to take out my gel manicure and to get a color change. Mind you this was not my first time getting a color change. I get my nails done once a week. The gel was take out alright. As she started filling my nails I told her many times to smooth out and buff the nail edges, I don't like sharp edges and it catches on to my clothes and of course all my nails have sharp edges. I have to file and buff as I am home. Been there over an hour and she had to redo most of my nails cause it was all messed up. She kept saying I needed to get a manicure so she could cut my cuticles, where I told her I never cut my cuticles and I alway get it pushed back with the color change. At the end she had to redo at least 4 of my nails cause there was lint stuck underneath the nail polish color. Mind you the nail polish was so old that it kept getting messed up cause it wouldn't dry. One of the nails got messed up for the 3rd time and she gave me attitude and wanted to do everything all over again to cut my cuticles. I explained again how I never have them cut and I needed to get out of the salon since I'd been there forever. She gave me attitude and had someone else do my one nail. The new lady couldn't find the same nail polish color and put a similar color on, at the end that one finger came out a different color and she said it's ok and I need to go. Mind you they let me leave the salon with my fingers looking horrible. Never been to a place like this before, and I had to pay for the service too. Horrible horrible! read more

I've been here one other time, waited about five min for my appt, and left with an ok pedi and a great mani. I called them on a Sunday at 1:00 pm to ask if they have any appts for a regular mani and spa pedi. I was asked to come now or any time after 3:00. I asked if 31:5 is ok and I was told that's fine. I arrived almost 15 min early and check in with the girl at the desk. I arrived early because I needed time to browse through their colors. I see her prepare a spa chair shortly after 3:15 then I'm asked to sit in it at 3:21, which is totally acceptable. Soon the clock on the wall reads 3:41 and I ask the receptionist if the wait will be much longer. She replies with "uuummm" and looks at the clock, the staff behind her, back at me, looks down at her desk, then back at me. Is she trying to figure out what time my appt was scheduled? Or did she just realize that I've been forgotten despite the fact that I'm sitting in the first chair, by the front door, and next to her. I decide to throw her a bone and remind her that my appt was at 3:15. Another woman speaks up and says we will be there soon, we've just been "so busy." No sh*t you're busy, it's a SUNDAY AFTERNOON! I explain that I understand they are busy but my appt was almost half an hour ago. Then the woman who I believe to be the manager or owner approaches me and says "give us two minutes." I kindly explain that I no longer have time for a mani, only a pedi. She says two women will work on me so I will be done by 4:30. Well, the two minute wait turns into 5 and I think I've been more than patient. I get this manager / owners attention and ask for a towel to dry off my feet that has been soaking in water for over 20 min. She says "just a few more minutes" and I explain I don't have a few more min because I called and was told to come in at 3:15. Now we are approaching 3:50. I tell her I cannot wait and she says they are coming soon. The word soon OBVIOUSLY means something different to me. Eventually the not so helpful receptionist returns to her desk. I ask her for a towel and say I have to go. She apologizes and my response to her wasn't kind. As I'm getting ready to walk out the first lady who spoke up tells me she's "very sorry." I tell her sorry doesn't cut it. I don't expect 5 star treatment but I expect common courtesy. I had an appt that they gave me yet I waited and waited and waited and was completely ignored. She says again that they are "sooo busy" and I remind her that as busy as they were, I was sitting in the very first chair in front of the receptionist, technicians passed by me, and the possible manager / owner looked at me several times. I said I wasted 45 min of my day because no one had the decency to let me know they were running behind or even acknowledge my presence. Worst part was this was my only day to get my mani pedi before leaving for vacation. Thanks Vinpearl Spa. Thanks for nothing. Long story short, if you don't mind getting an average mani / pedi and possibly being mistaken for someone who just likes to hang around nail salons (vs an actual paying customer) then I would definitely recommend this place. read more

I have been getting my nails done here for the past seven years. I have tried out different nail technicians and found a few that do a great job and are very detailed. I always make an appointment. I have tried this place twice. First time I went and they made me wait 1/2 hr. I went home and the next day my polish was all messed up, they put on so many layers. I gave them another chance...went again they said 5 mins. I waited 25 mins then another 15 mins in the chair soaking my feet. The water was cold by the time they got to me. Only reason why they even started on me was because I complained for waiting so long. Who knows how much longer I would have waited if I didn't say anything. I wouldn't go back! read more

I waited 2 hours for a fill which takes 30 minutes MAX. There was more nail polish on my hands and Joanne's hands then there was on my nails. On top of all of that she blamed me because of it. So upset! Took my daughter for her first manicure. Supposed to be a bonding experience where we both get one. They were busy, fine. But ten they didn't soak her hands. Let me preface this by saying it is my first yelp review. I thought I would try vinpearl because I could walk to it and it was a good price. I went for a brazilian and it was awful. I have been getting brazilians for years, and never has one taken so long and been so poorly done. The lady was nice, and I thought she was being tedious because of how long it took. That was definitely not the case, because I came home and had patches of missed hair all over. Horrible customer service once you start going regularly they stop doing a good job they just care about making money even if they don't have any appointments available they will tell you to go in and make you wait for hours. They will just do your nails quickly just to get you in and out. They will tell you a different price over the phone, once you go in they will charge you more than what they said they charge. They are not considerate about their customers not speaking their language they will sit in front of you and speak in their language. Honestly this is the best place to get pedicures! Kathy is my lady and she does an AMAZING job! I get my acrylics and refills by Joanne and she always surprises me with her great design techniques and always does what I ask for! What can I say...The place is sparkling clean and spacious. All the workers are very clean, professional and smile at you. Every time I visit VinPearl Spa I feel so comfortable and relaxed because I don't have to worry about the workers doing a crappy job. I really wanted to like this place. It's clean and rather large. I gave it 3 tries and sadly, onto the next. I'm having a really hard time finding a good nail salon in the Los Angeles area. The 1st time, it was pouring rain and the place wasn't that busy. My daughter and I had our hands and feet done at the same time. Not a must, but was nice. The 2nd time, the water for our feet was cold. Other than that, it was unremarkable. 3rd visit. Water for our feet was cold again. I asked for hotter water. She ran it for a minute. Still cold and I said more hot please. I didn't get it. The woman who did my feet was really rough. She hurt when she was pushing the cuticles back. Even though I said ouch, and asked her to do it softer, that didn't happen. The 2nd time I said ouch, she started speaking in her language to the woman doing my hands, and about a minute later said "ouch?" Um YES! I also told her I needed the stuff between my toes because they touch. I have a messed up toe cause that didn't happen either. I could say language barrier, but I think I'll go with bad customer service. The gel does last 2-3 weeks, but I'd rather go elsewhere. read more

Makes me sad to write this review. It had been my go to spot since it opened. I don't know if there is a new owner or if the last few times that i have gone, Joanne is not there. Joanne keeps the place rolling and customer service is her main goal. I had the worst, most amateur pedicure I have ever experienced. Alice, poor Alice, she had no idea what she was doing and she made it worse as the time went on. Even the massage was blah! I was so frustrated, I skipped the polish. The other manicurists heard my moans and groans throughout the pedicure and of course, did nothing. I was pretty upset that after a few years of being a good client and a good tipper, I wasn't taken care of with the pride that used to be displayed by the staff. I won't return. read more

This place is just a big no! I went in for a mani pedi. I had made an appointment 3 days prior, and when i got there, i still ended up waiting 45 minutes. For my pedicure, it was okay. But my manicure was just horrible. I asked her to do it square, and she filed it down to an oval shape. I asked her to fix it and she attempted to but didn't know how. She made two of my fingers bleed from attempting to remove cuticle (which i BARELY have). Customer service is horrible. Young lady at front desk has a huge attitude. The place is not even that clean. I didn't have any high expectations when I came to this nail spa. I was visiting my mom who lived down here and thought what the heck, why not. However, I was blown away and I got the best gel mani I have ever had thanks to Nancy. She is the BEST!! She is really speedy and at first I thought that was going to make for a sloppy job but it didn't. I always have issues with gel manis never going to the end or sides of my nail. But she did to all 10 fingers. I also had cut my nails the day before and needless to say, I have no idea what I'm doing. I cut them really short. Nancy didn't even care. She still filed them to the best of her ability to make them all 'even' and have somewhat of the same shape. She also gave me a pedicure which also turned out nicely. She took her (speedy) time, if that makes sense. I am very ticklish on my feet. So when they go to scrub my feet with that buffer as soon as I show any sign of being ticklish they immediately stop. Not nancy. She saw that I was ticklish and still scrubbed my feet in a way that was bearable for me. No-one has ever done that before. I think I will be visiting my mom (and nancy) monthly from now on! read more

I've been lazy lately and haven't written reviews and now writing all my reviews in one sitting.. oh well. So, it sucks having to give this place a poor review because I desperately wanted them to be awesome since they're so close to where I live and it would have been super convenient. I noticed that this place seems to be packed with customers every time I passed by so I thought I'd give them a shot. I went in for a gel pedi/mani previously during a week day. I had one girl doing my toes while another did my fingers. I felt painful discomfort several times while I was getting the pedi to a point where I jumped a couple times. I've had some discomfort during mani/pedi's before but not to this extent. Then midway through the mani, the girl doing my hands goes to help another customer and another person comes to finish my hands. It seemed like she wasn't very good at gel mani's because she was visibly struggling to do a simple french tip. When all was done, I went and paid for the services with a credit card. When I added their tip on the receipt, the lady at the counter shook her head at me saying that I should tip in cash. When I told her that I didn't have cash she she gave me the dirtiest look and yelled loudly enough for other people to hear that they normally don't take tips that way and that I should bring cash next time. On top of all that, when I got home, I saw that a part of my pedi was messed up and looked like it was chipped, and several of my nails had air bubbles. One of my nails had some of my previous red nail polish still on it. Very disappointing, unacceptable service, and below par work all the way around. read more

Something about this salon keeps me coming back all the time! I've tried many different places but honestly always end up back here. I am always greeted so kindly from all women. I usually like to come here as they open on a weekday cause there's always less people. They always spend their time doing my nails never rush and NEVER cut me till I bleed which is always a problem for me cause I bleed so quickly. Let me start with, I fell asleep so I didn't make sure she followed my request. My request was simple DON'T CUT THE SIDES OF MY TOENAILS! Since they aren't podiatrists you would think this was not an odd request. I also said smooth my callouses not remove them. So point by point, my appt was at 5:15 not 5:30, the constant add ons are a turn off., the massage was fantastic, they don't listen/understand?. I now don't have any callouses so I won't be hiking this weekend actually I can barely walk, I'm praying I don't get an infection since I also don't have any cuticles, the sides of my toes are so painful because she did indeed cut the side of my toenails off WHICH YOU SHOULD NEVER DO! Again stupid me I fell asleep. I'm sorry I would love to give this place a high rating for the massage alone but the nail service was not what I asked for and it will be many painful weeks before my toenails grow out enough. read more
