The old guy that I believe he is the owner took my money first then said don't have any female worker and it's only him. He wasn't able to do massage in right way. I wasn't comfortable the way that he was massaging. Even thoughI paid $50 for one hour but I ended up in 20 minutes because I just want to leave that place. Horrible. I don't think the lady who massaged me was even certified. This has got to be one of the worst massages I have ever received. She was running her elbow up and down my spine at one point! Ouch!!! My friend didn't like hers either, she also agreed it was one of the worst massages. We got massaged in the same room and the two ladies that were massaging us were constantly talking and laughing the whole time. Plus they left a bright light on. We both have our favorite masseuse at another location not related to Magic Massage. They were unavailable for a last minute couples massage so we came to YELP to find another local massage parlor. The reviews for Magic Massage were a bit concerning but we were willing to take the chance and SO glad we did. We called at 7:30pm and Kevin answered, he was friendly and squeezed us in for a couples massage at 8pm. On the phone he notified me that each one hour massage was 50.00 and if we used a credit card a 6.00 fee applies. Our room was clean, very quiet and no one speaking loudly or phones ringing like we have experienced elsewhere. Parking was easy and many spaces to choose from in a small shopping center. Our two masseuse were Kevin and Lucy, and if you want a real deep tissue massage from your head to your toes,literally, then these are your people! We slept great and awoke feeling so much relief from the tension we had in our shoulders and back. We are really considering coming here weekly in place of our usual chain location in LaCanada.Try Magic Massage, you will be thankful you did! Enjoy! read more

About a month ago I got a massage at this place. The fact they make you pay up front is so unfair because if you pay with a card they add tip too. If the massage sucked (like mine did) you have no chance to dispute and ask for a discount and not leave tip. Unfair business practices. So many of these type of massage places. Sadly this is just like most of the rest. People there are nice and accommodating. However their version of a deep tissue massage is to just try to push as hard as they can. No rhyme or reason, no technique. Going from leg to back, to shoulder and back to legs. Just all over the place with seemingly no knowledge for how to work muscles. I've had a great many massages and this rates toward the bottom. Two stars because the employees are nice. First thing is, they want you to pay up front, which I have never once done for any massage anywhere. Massage itself was acceptably average. Upon leaving I presented the massage guy with a tip, and he explained to me with this huge, grinning face there was a "minimum" for the tip which I apparently had not met. There was another man at the desk who looked somewhat embarrassed looking over at the massage guy (possibly his father?) as I said I have never once heard of a massage place having a "minimum tip" rate. Guy at desk explained that it was like how restaurants include the gratuity on the check. Huh? I told him that tips are a *choice* and at the customer's discretion how much, or even if, there will be a tip. This display of ridiculous greed lost them a customer forever. read more

Very clean and very nice people. A one hour foot massage was 40 minutes on the feet and lower legs (badly needed) and a whole body massage to go with it. $25 cash up front. Gave an $8 tip and everyone seemed happy. This was not the torture chamber of a Thai massage where the lady digs in her heels and elbows in every bit of soft tissue on your body. This is a massage using skilled hands and an occasional forearm. If you want a massage that leaves you bruised and destroyed like you have been mugged in the street, this is not the place for you. They do their best to keep the place quiet and calm, but in the middle of my session a self absorbed shrew came into the place for a one hour full body massage and then proceeded to share with everyone within earshot her personal health history from the time she hit the delivery table. After hearing this crap for 10 minutes I growled "Lady, put a sock in it" from the room I was in. They quickly ushered her to a room with a door and locked it. Good, GFY. Peace and tranquility was reestablished. 5/18 Revision: Prices have gone up, but the work they do is great. read more

We came in for two massages at 40$/each. Had no cash so we asked for it to be put on card, and said it was ok to pay the 2$ service charge. We also had to put the tip on the card, and mind you, we haven't had our massages yet, so to be polite we decided on a 10$ tip as well. So, 40 + 40 + 10 + 10 + 2. 102$ The guy helping us took my husbands card and said ok that'll be 106$. Wait. What? So I asked why 106. He explains it's the service charge for the massage and the tip. So we ask whether he will be doing one transaction or three. He explains, the massages will be run as 80, and each tip, 10 and 10. Therefore 2 per transaction... which is why the surprise 6$. This didn't make sense to either of us and we decided to leave. I don't mind the service charge, especially since smaller businesses have to pay for each transaction, but when he couldn't explain to us why it's necessary to ring us up three times (and if we are itemizing this all, why not ring us up four times???) I used to go to this place before Covid and now that things are better I started going again. I always get Wendy she it's absolutely amazing. One other thing I like about this place it's clean and tidy and staff it's friendly. There are few changes in prices almost 40% up to their service. Like the foot massage was 25$ for one hour and now its $40. I asked the man boss to see the prices catalog he has their and I asked him if I could take a picture so I'll know how much they charge in their other services and he denied. Just be prepared that the prices are not the ones that shows in the picture. There's had been a minor few times I just got unlucky with someone who shouldn't be working as a masseuse, but all in all.. More positive times than not. Since the prices are so low, we as customers should be educated to tip well! I always try to put myself in their shoes. If you massaged someone for an hour. Is $5 tip for a $40 massage enough? Definitely not! At bare minimum it should be $10. Even if the massage wasnt the best.. Someone is using their strength and energy to rejuvenate yours.. It's a humanity issue, common decency people! The masseuses are all good, my only concern is the owner trying to overcharge the menu prices, instead of $50 for the combo 60min table/30min foot (total 90min) he tries for $60 and had a big grin on his face, his wife and coowner spoke sharply to him in Chinese, he looked upset and then Accepted my $50. I've actually gone in for the combo massage and after they finished with the 60min body massage, the owner said "sorry we are full" and charged me only for the body massage, Meaning... he wouldn't offer me the foot massage portion of the combo even after I already paid, this happened twice! So he would do anything to weasel of a less profitable option the on the menu that they provide to all customers. This is certainly not the first time this has happened, watch him closely. How can you possibly go wrong with such cheap prices and strong handed ladies hard at work? I used to have Burke Williams membership until I found this place. I go out of my way to come here because unlike many other massage places-both high end and lower end- the staff here are so good. I am thick-boned and need really strong massage to work on all my knots especially around the shoulders and neck. Every one of the female staff here I have had is so good- I am so thankful to have found a place with such low prices for quality work! Unlike Burke Williams where they charge for every little thing, this place includes hot stone massage in the total price! Please remember to tip more than the typical 20% because these people work hard. I usually tip about 35-40% in tips because even with generous tip, the total cost ends up being half the price of high end massage places. Also, these people work hard so we should support them! My wife and I, new to the area, found this place on Yelp. We decided to go and we were not disappointed. Great place. You know how when you're getting a massage and you feel bad asking them to do it softer or harder? Well here you don't have to because in the beginning they keep asking if it's okay or if you want to chamge the pressure. I liked this because at times I find it akward to start a conversation where my face is in a hole on a bed. Overall great experience. I needed a massage badly and came across this place. A lot of the reviews did mention the money factor. They don't have an updated price list. In store or online. I just went based off what other reviews had posted. I didn't mind paying $50 at all. However, they should have an updated list either in the store or online. Besides that I think it was great for a quick massage. The walls are a bit thin so you can hear the store next door. I was having issues with my neck and shoulders, I told my masseuse to concentrate on those areas only. For the most part she did. A lot of places just disregard your request. THE GUY BEHIND THE RECEPTIONIST DESK HERE IS A CREEP , me and my partner asked for a couples massage over the phone and the man said it was available ,SPECIFICALLY with female masseuse. Once we arrived I asked to use the restroom, while my partner paid. He THEN told us that one of us would have to be massaged by a male because they had no female masseuses available. As I walked to the back towards the restroom there were about 5 female masseuse available waiting to work. when I came out he told me to quickly go into the single room and I said wait we asked for the couples room? he said it was busy and was demanding for me to go !! Turns out he had already told my girlfriend to undress in a room by herself because he was going to be the one to massage her. She asked him why I wasn't in the same room when there was two beds and he said "no no ,separate" as he prepared to be her masseuse . She told him she wouldn't continue until she was able to call me first. He pretend not to understand English and said "no English " asked "So no massage?" She said no. He got angry , slammed the door open to my room , Yelling "NO MASSAGE!" to my masseuse while I was already laid down half naked. I've been to so many of these little "foot/body massage" places it's not funny. I really love this one though. They always have enough staff so you never have to wait..... and they are great. I always walk out of there refreshed and only spending $25+ tip!! How can you not be happy? They have male and female misuses so you can feel comfortable with your choice. Even the $25 foot massage comes with hot stones treatment (which a lot of places won't include that in the small package anymore) and they go from your scalp to your toes. Love it tremendously! Worst massage ever! Only came here because my usual place in Burbank was booked and thought I'd try a place closer to home. Big mistake coming here! Here are a few things out of MANY, that are wrong with this place. 1. They dont use bed sheets, they use small bath towels. So expect to have all limbs exposed and then some. And expect to be cold. 2. Mid massage, another therapist walks into the room, turns the light on and starts having a conversation with my therapist. And they are laughing and chatting like there isnt a half naked customer in the room. Seriously? So unprofessional! 3. The pressure was awful. Inconsistent is an understatement. My therapist, Lina, would start firm and after a couple strokes would lose all pressure and only use finger tips. Several times during the massage she would lay her fingertips on my back and stay still. She wouldnt move for minutes and then suddenly I'd get an elbow! It was the OPPOSITE of relaxing! 4. She didn't know how to use hot stones. Her moves were very abrupt and painful. She had a stone in each hand, slid them across my shoulders and straight into my neck! She was literally hitting my neck with rocks. WTH? 5. After an awful and unprofessional massage she still followed me to the front and stared at me until I tipped. She didnt leave until I tipped her. I get a stare down after all that?! Yes I know this is a cheap massage place with unlicensed workers, so expectations weren't high. But this is too far. Extremely unprofessional. I found this place on yelp and read some of the reviews but as I always do, you gotta try it out for yourself. So both my wife and I came in today and the gentleman at the front took care of us & right away showed us to our to room. The massage was more than I expected, the hot stones were amazing, I've gone to high end spas and I never had that as part of my massage. This was just included and for the price I couldn't of asked for anything better. I unfortunately did get the masseuse name but left them a nice tip, well deserved. Both my wife and I will certainly be back. One thing I will recommend is make an appointment so that you don't just show up and you may have to wait or come back.
