The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, he helped me pick out a brüt champagne rose for a co-worker within my budget. I enjoyed the upbeat music while I was looking around. In my effort to find good low-abv wines, I stumbled upon Igor and his wonderful wine shop. Though it is small, the selection is fascinating and reaches across the world to offer selections not available elsewhere. There are varietals here you've never even heard of! Igor is a wonderfully friendly proprietor, and we spent a good half-hour or so chatting about different regions and what to look for so I can go about finding those elusive low-abv reds. Several things that I like about this place that distinguish it from other wine shops: - It's less showy than Kermit Lynch, less overwhelming than KandL, and has much better variety than Total Wine - The Riesling selection is excellent and there's a lot of aged Riesling from not-as-well-known producers - The prices are generally fair and there are occasionally good discounts; this is *not* a place that's overloaded with high-end Burgundies and there are plenty of wines in the ~$20 range - The website is kept up up-to-date with new arrivals and accurate prices (this is very helpful and makes the inventory easy to look through before you get there) Igor is enthusiastic and happy to let you shop or talk through a recommendation. The weekly tastings are great too and there's sometimes even food trucks. Worth signing up for the newsletter to keep track of what's happening. It is a fairly small operation, so you're not necessarily going to get a lot of legendary wineries coming in for events or a lot of bells and whistles, but I like what they're going for here. Ok. Super excited. This is a perfect location. Middle way between work and home. Great stop on Friday afternoon. The reserved parking spots in the back are actually for this store. So take advantage of that, even though they don't have signs up yet. The grand opening is in a few weeks, but they are open for business. Very clean, spacious atmosphere. Chalk board walls, which had some art work on them and I'm sure soon to be specials. The wine is organized by region, which I appreciated. However, I can see where this might be an issue if you are trying to find a certain type of wine. They have a huge selection and prices are on point!! The two gentleman were super nice and very helpful. I wish I could've spent more time talking to them to get the back story in the place, but I was on a time crunch. They did tell me they will start to do tastings soon. Which is reason enough for me to come back. Looking forward to making this a go to stop to pick up a bottle of dine. read more

Recently moved here from Berkeley, where we seem to have a plethora of quality wine stores. I've struggled to find the equivalent in the WC area. I have hit every store I could google, this being the last. They are very sincere, are trying hard, yet still seem to be taking baby steps. They are focusing on variety and lesser known regions and varietals, which I approve very strongly. That said, it is hard to shop here. The wine is awkwardly displayed, generally in boxes on the floor, with no pricing evident on most of the bottles I perused. During one visit I had to ask at least 8 times what the price of a bottle was and then wait for him to go to his computer and search extensively for the answer. While I'm buying a half or full case of wine I like to know where I'm at $ while shopping. Having to ask and wait for the price of each bottle kills my momentum and breaks the mood frankly. The wines are laid out roughly by region but I frankly struggled to grasp an overall theme or philosophy to the curating. The cold wines are also awkward to sort through. Of the wines I bought, average price of $18, I wanted to really follow the concept and go for some unfamiliar wines. A few were good, the rest were average, and one vihno verde featured at the counter should not be sold. I know vihno verdes are a casual wine, but that wine should have been put in a 7Up bottle I'm not kidding. I like what they are aiming at and wish them the best. I will continue to shop there occasionally and I sure hope they find a better location and figure out how to get the wine off the ground. read more

I finally got a chance to try this place out! It's near my house and I have walked by many times but last Friday some friends invited me to join them after work and I'm so glad I did! They have seating near the window with tables for groups to hang out. Every Friday and Saturday they do tastings of 5 wines for $10 and they do different themes (I.e. it was Greek the night I went). I asked the owner for some recommendations and he steered me towards a Syrah from France that was delicious and under $20. I will definitely be back! read more

Really nice store with a bright open space and great wines. Wines are sorted by country of origin so it was surprisingly easy to find anything you wanted. I talked to the owners and I think the idea of the store was to find high quality wines from around the world that you wouldn't see in standard Bevmos or other alcohol stores. Given the types of wines they had, the prices were surprisingly affordable, almost everything was in the $10 - $25 range. After the tastings I walked away with a really smooth $11 red. I also got a $24 wine that was made specifically to pair with sushi that I'm really excited to try. They have set tastings Friday & Saturday every week so I would recommend checking it out to see if you find something new that you like. read more

Great little wine store in WC. Had a very good selection of wines that I haven't seen anywhere else. We're no wine connoisseurs but the staff was very friendly and nonjudgemental. They were very knowledgeable about all the wines they and you can tell that they're really passionate about wine. The prices were very reasonable so it's a really good way to get into wines without having to spend too much. We like wine but don't know much about it so we usually just pick the cheapest non boxed option on the shelf. Now we can do that and still get a good quality wine. The vast majority of the wines we drink are from local California wineries. Great mid-priced selection of wines from around the world and an owner who really knows his stuff. A group of us had a wine tasting event there, and it was really a lot of fun to taste wines we normally wouldn't encounter. We even ordered pizza in to finish things off. It's about half way between Broadway and North Main in a single story building on the north side of Ygnacio Valley Road, and there's parking in back. I'm sure they'd arrange a private tasting for you and a group of your friends. They also taste during the week and the weekends. Drop in and give them a shot. We like a wide variety of wines (including expensive fine wines) and look for really excellent values. Wine reviews are hit and miss at best, so we like to taste before we buy. This place has excellent weekly tastings Friday & Saturday for $10 for five or six wines (mostly well under $20). The tastings are not "junk" wines like some other big-box-wine places, but a flight of wines in a consistent theme. They also have water, crackers, and nuts to clear the palate between tastings and a dump bucket. I don't think we have ever spent more than $30 for a bottle there, the experience of the tastings have been fun, and we have gotten many great wines for $15 or less. We were passing this wine shop on the way home from work and realized that the owner offers wine tastings on weekends. Very happy we stopped by! For $10 you can taste different wines that the owner (who is very welcoming and knowledgeable) switches out every weekend. Depending on the night, you will be able to taste French wines, German wines, different champagnes, or other pairings that the owner selected. After tasting a few of the wines we were definitely determined to buy a few of the bottles.
