Stepped out on a limb and gave Vinny's a shot about an hour before close on a Monday night...don't regret it one bit. It appears all the poor reviews are from a prior era of ownership, I say those days are gone. The owner took our order and made our pies...I suspect like many places he has trouble hiring good help but that didn't interrupt his friendly attitude and desire to deliver a quality product. This is true NY style pizza, ultra thin, crispy crust topped with all your heart desires. Personally, I'd go for the meat lovers and while you wait, daydream about folding that plate sized slice of heaven in half while it's piping hot, fresh from the oven! A+!! read more

The service is always quick, friendly and upfront. Great little pizza joint and some of their specialty pizzas are definitely a must. Small little convenient place to eat and has everything you're looking for for a little New York pizza joint. read more

Just moved to the area so I'm on the search for some good go to places. Pizza being high on my go to list. I ordered the works specialty pizza. It wasn't bad. I also ordered Buffalo wings & requested them fried hard with extra sauce. Very disappointed in the wings. They are squishy and barely have sauce. (Pic included) Overall, I'm willing to try different pizzas an I know not to order wings here. read more

Vinny's pizza - Buffalo Wings with Bones - I'm going to have to cook these more and add more sauce. - Pizza Near Me - Largo, Florida

This place is a 3.5 because the pizza was pretty good. It tasted fresh, had good flavor, and wasn't greasy at all. The reason for the 3.5 stars is because of the wings and the garlic knots that we ordered. The garlic knots were not fluffy at all, a bit hard on the outside, and I didn't taste garlic or Parmesan on them. The wings needed to be cooked more, there was a mild flavor even though we asked for medium, wasn't much sauce, and there was no crispy on the outside of the wings. Will definitely try this place again in the future because of their pizza. read more

This place is amazing! I've been struggling to find good pizza in Florida like most but this place is great. It's a very small shop located on west bay and very close to Missouri ave. The owner Vinny always greets me and asks how things are going and the woman behind the counter is friendly. They always have a variety of pizza by the slice options. My favorite is the "grandma" which my friends from Long Island told me all about. Last night I also tried the BBQ Chicken and a white pizza, with sausage!! Both were absolutely incredible. Ingredients were fresh and we got 5 big pieces of pizza for $16 bucks plus it was ready in 3 minutes. I'll definitely be heading back when I'm craving good pizza! read more

Vinny's pizza - Amazing! - Pizza Near Me - Largo, Florida

Not the old Vinnys or my cousin Vinnys. I ordered the extra large margarita pizza. Went to pick it up and handled him my cc. Looked at the receipt- he charged me $34 I balked and said that's not what the online menu said it listed $21 The owner said Florida tax is high and he also changed the menu costs a few weeks ago. I picked up a menu (there were dozens) on the counter and showed him the same price as online and even with 7% it should have be at least $10 cheaper. He said he didn't get a chance to upgrade "those" menus. I said that was Bullsh!t. He already rang my credit card up. I was starving so I paid and left no tip. The guy was rude and a liar. I drove home and opened the box to see I was ripped off again. Look at that f-ing pizza. All dough and 3 inches of "crust" with little cheese, sauce or toppings. More like flat bread with a little sauce and cheese The pizza wasn't even that good. I threw it out and went out for some fast food. I'm never going to Vinny's. I asked around and was told Vinnys has been under new ownership for about a year and not the Vinnys of old. A friend of mine is on the chamber of commerce and told me this story Chamber of commerce luncheon hosted at Vinnys after they reopened to welcome and help new owner. Owner said before at the c of c meeting that the lunch would be discounted. At the end of lunch owner gave full bill with 25% tip added on. When C of C people asked about tip and discount they were told with so many people it was their policy to automatically add on tip, and owner handed out 10% off coupons for future visit to those that asked. I'm debating which word to use- cheap or lame, maybe both! read more

Great slice! Crust was nice and bouncy, sauce was wonderful and cheese melted perfectly. Will be back more for lunch.

Great pie! As a former pizzeria owner I must say one of the best pizzas I have had in a long while. Bobby Seminole FL read more

At the recommendation of my hairstylist who owns the salon next door, I decided to try this place for lunch as I was waiting for my color to sit in. Amazing! They have a lunch special of 2 slices of cheese pizza and a soda for $5 or 2 slices of pepperoni pizza and a soda for $6. The slices, as you can see on the photo, are huge! The flavor is fantastic and the employees were friendly. So happy to have such a nice and convenient lunch spot that I can walk to from the salon. I'd highly recommend trying this place out! read more

Vinny's pizza - Pizza Near Me - Largo, Florida

Great spot for a slice! Authentic New York style pizza and right now they are doing one dollar slices for the grand opening. Pretty extensive menu that I have yet to try but I will be back. It's mainly a takeout place very limited seating inside. I do think they will have a patio area at some point. The area desperately needs this kind of restaurant so I hope my neighbors go and patronize Vinny's Pizza frequently. read more

Looking for a quick bite to eat? Well this hidden gem is your place. I was waiting for the movers and had some time to spare. Was looking for something quick, and thought Pizza would be great! Vinnys is a small place, about 6 tables including the patio tables. They have lunch specials, which I was grateful to be able to get their on time to get a special. 2 pizzas and a drink for $5.99. The pizza was fresh, quick with great ingredients and served with a pan. It was delicious and with more advertising this place would be great! read more

This is changed hands and quality went WAY down. The new owner seems to care little when questioned about the changes in the recipes. Been coming here a few years now. The crust tastes like frozen. Ingredients are nowhere near what they were before. I asked about the changes and the clerk told me it had changed. I later asked the aparent new owner and he said nothing has changed. This is the second time coming in and asking the same. He could care less. He is lying about the change of ownership, which in fact it has changed. (The worker confirmed.) VERY DISAPPOINTING quality and owner doesn't care at all. I will no longer come to this place. read more

Charlie called me back 2 days later to inquire about my phone call and complaints. He offered to replace the pizza as initially promised. He asked that I pick it up to avoid this from occurring again and I showed him the picture in which he agreed. I expressed that I try to support local and was disheartened by the lack of customer service as I do really like their pizza. While it was an unfortunate experience I do recommend the quality of their pies and will return again in the future. read more

Food was absolutely terrible! Pizza was dry and had zero flavor. Garlic knots dry with zero garlic also no flavor. Pasta was just bad. Do not recommend this place at all. I will not be back read more

Super small delicious Italian hidden gem! In an area with pizza places on every corner, this place is worth the trip! The service is kind and the food is wow! I tried a Stromboli with cheese, ricotta, steak and peppers! It came out so big, the lid wouldn't even close! The small will easily feed me for 4 meals, I wouldn't even want to see the large lol The sauce on the side is tasty without chunks of tomato, just the way that I like it! I meant to get a cannoli but found a pizza that I would try next barbecue and couldn't wait to get home to try my Stromboli! I was truly pleased with my choice! read more

I haven't been back to Vinnys in a while, the quality went way down with the new ownership. But it's been a while so I thought I'd give them another chance. I ordered a calzone and I got it home and it smelled terrible like sauerkraut or a dirty dish rag! Did not smell cheese or garlic or anything tasty! Disgusting! I brought it back and got my money back. Will definitely not return ever! read more

I almost walked out, cause of the dumbass $1 slice. Half a pie sitting there and the guy won't put pepperoni on a couple slices for any price. That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard and kinda pissed me off. But I'm addicted to pizza so I said f it and got 3. Duh, they were only OK. By the time I was done the real pies were ready and the two slices of pepperoni, which were pretty good. Pizza is only $2.50 a slice anyways so I'm not sure how selling a just OK slice for $1 is helping them out... considering the regular slices are pretty good. Skip the $1 slice if you go cause it's a waste of a dollar and space in your stomach, when you can spend a $1.50 more and get a nice slice loaded with cheese, sauce, and pepperoni. Like a real New Jersey slice...the Florida heat can even make people from NJ wacky. The real pizza was 4 star the $1 slice was 2 stars, but refusing to put pepperoni on a cheese slice in the window is insane, just charge me f it. Maybe I would have gave them 4 stars, but f pizza by the slice with stupid rules. Forgetaboutit read more

Brand new pizza shop in town that just opened their doors a week ago. They offer the normal NY style pizzaria items on the menu plus a few surprises that you won't find elsewhere such as the strawberry and & mandarin baby spinach salad or the Vinny's Vegas Pie. The slices of cheese I had were delicious here. The sause to the perfect crispness of the crust and the flavor of the mozzarella, all were on point. There are some small tables inside and outside for you to sit at and of course you can take your meal to go if you need to. I will be back to try other items on their menu, so far this place is off to a good start. read more

Update: since my first review, I've been back to Vinny's twice. The first time I tried two slices of their specialty pizzas: one BBQ chicken, one Buffalo chicken. I'm sorry to say that neither stood out & blew my socks off as I'd hoped. The flavor notes were not as pronounced as I'd expect, especially for being savory flavors like BBQ & Buffalo. On my third visit I had the meatball parm sub, and THIS was a knockout. The bread is light & flaky yet slightly chewy. The sub is loaded with flavorful meatballs smothered in some excellent red sauce and surrounded with melted cheese. This is the meatball sub you've been looking for, and most definitely worth returning for. After three visits over time, Vinny's has certainly done well and is worth a visit (or return trip). read more

Very unhappy with my pizza. I ordered pizza wings a few nights ago, the wings were very good, but I couldn't even eat my pizza. I ordered it well done, not only was it not well done but it under cooked and very sloppy. Today was garbage day and most of the pizza went out in the trash. read more

Pizza was very good for delivery , not at all greasy. Sausage was thin flat slices, but many of them, with a good flavor. Veggies were scant however. Overall satisfied. read more

Where did the real Vinny go? This restaurant has switched hands, the recipes were supposed to remain the same, but they have not. I was a regular at Vinny's and would recommend it to anyone I spoke to. Now I will not even order from Vinny's, as the food is terrible now and it is very hard speaking to the staff there to have them understand your order. We need Vinny and his mom and dad back. Vinny, where did you go? Why did you leave us??? read more

Finally a New York slice or whole margarita pizza that I don't have to drive all the way to st pete for. Yes before Vinny's I would drive 45 min each way for a real pizza The crust! The melt in you're mouth pizza crust I love it It's my only Florida go to pizza now read more

When we first tried Vinny's l, first few times really liked it. But now I'm So tired of vinnys. The last few times delivery takes 90 mins. Twice now Pizza is cold. Called the restaurant, some guy answers, tell him my issues, puts me on hold, some other guy answers. If your gonna escalate tell the person what the issue is. Now I have to tell this man everything again. He gave some excuse which I couldn't barely understand about something going down they couldn't do anything. No idea. Then he tells me no way the pizza can be cold because the driver leaves as soon as she pizza is out. Well clearly that didn't happen. No sorry no nothing. Well next time I can give you a discount. I don't want a discount, I want good customer service and a refund. My pizza is in the oven. If I wanted that I would have bought a frozen pizza. Worst service ever! read more

Vinny is super cool and has really good pizza. I have to be completely honest 2X I came in and he had the day off. His parents were working and I'm assuming making pizza in Vinny's absence. They are nice people but the Pizza was definitely not the same. I forget which slice I ordered but it had a few toppings on it and was pre-made, when I started to eat it , it literally fell apart from being soggy and too heavy. They replaced it with another slice but just added the same topping to it so it was over baked and the toppings where not very hot. They tried and I'm happy about that. Another time they were there and not Vinny, my cheese slice tasted like it had been sitting too long before they reheated it. Sorry Vinny. :( Still love coming in but only when your working. And your Pizza is still great, glad your in the neighborhood! read more

We had delivery and they arrived when they said. Pizza was good, cheese sticks also and I'm saving the sandwich for later, so no opinion yet

You couldn't ask for nicer people. The pizza was great and the customer service was even better. We truly enjoyed this experience.

This place is very unassuming and modest, but exactly what Downtown Largo needs right now. Ordered a large plain pie for takeout the other day, and oh my goodness. The flavors exploded in my mouth. This is legit New York Style Pizza. Cannot wait to visit this establishment again and again. Support your local pizza shop, people! read more

Decent place for a quick slice. Not much for atmosphere but owners seem very nice. New York style pizza that doesn't "wow" or disappoint.

Gave them another shot and regretted it. You get fast and friendly service but who cares if your food isn't good? Pizza is NOT New York style, although it tries. It is also not baked long enough or at a high enough heat. Hoping the new place opening soon on West Bay and Clearwater-Largo brings quality pizza back to Largo! read more
