Garlic knots and their own specialty chicken cutlet wrapped in a pizza dough type calzone . Delicious

What went well? The question should be what didn't. And that would be nothing, it is amazing coming into this family run pizzeria. I am a native New Yorker and pizza is my thing. It's very rare you find a good place to have authentic New York style pizza. If you don't get insulted then you are not getting the real experience l. My first time was very memorable. I love coming there. One hour away and it's worth the high gas prices. Thank you Sardo's

Sardo's is a staple for great pizza and pasta in the area! Very authentic food. You won't be disappointed! The atmosphere is family oriented and very relaxed. Super friendly service and the best cutlets. Everything we've tried is amazing. We especially love the meatballs (I'm Italian and super picky about these) cutlets and the grandma pizza!

Nice staff and front register people at this location but probably the worst grandma pie i've ever had. the place has a lot of other things and some accolades so i was really surprised at how bad it was. we also ordered a regular pie and it was normal along with some garlic knots so just avoid the grandma pie. just looked like a bad sicilian it was terrible and tasted bland.

So glad I finally got a chance to visit here. I was drawn to this place with all the recent social media hype with the Fonze appearance and the owner getting the opportunity to meet his childhood hero and feed him. I was hoping to get a glimpse of the owner but he wasn't there during my visit. Wasn't really sure what I wanted until I saw the incredible looking strombolis. The meatball stromboli was literally calling out my name so I had no choice. I grabbed a water and got lucky to find an empty booth. The place was full of patrons on a Wednesday afternoon around 2pm. That says something for sure. The meatball stromboli was delivered to my table hot and fresh. It was a tad dark on the underside but it was still delicious! The accompanying marinara sauce was perfect. Just the right amount although I used up every bit of it.. I was sad when it was all gone but I was left fully satisfied. There's a lot of love that goes into this place and you can feel it from the moment you walk in. I can't wait to come back. Bravo, Sardos! Bravo!

Super Sardo's has zeppole! You heard correctly. This is all you need to know because nobody has zeppole in Pinellas! We love the pizza and hero sandwiches. The food tastes just like home to us New Yorkers. The only negative is they no longer have fountain sodas.

Yum!! Seriously delicious pizza! We had the supreme which is 5 toppings of your choice. We got pepperoni, onion, mushrooms, sausage and garlic! So good! The crust was light and crispy. All the toppings were delicious. Cheese had a nice texture. Had some garlic knots too and they were yummy. The sauce was so flavorful. We will be back for sure!

I've been coming to Sardos every so often for several years on my lunch break. They have reasonably priced lunch deals and quick service! The owner is usually around and warning: he will yell at you if you request ranch with your pizza. But it's all in good fun, he's a really nice guy. I really like the sauce and Brooklyn style crust. I wish the pepperoni got a little bit crispier but that's my only 2 cents. Definitely love supporting a local family business. I'll keep coming back!

Yummmmm! I love a fully loaded pizza and the Mediterranean + sausage is exceptional! I only wish it came with marinara sauce. Lots of veggies and the sausage is delicious! Nicely done!

Pizza was average and the sauce was generic needs move flavor. Customer service was good.

A…read moregroup of six of us stopped in on Friday night and were amazed at how different the place felt. Same decor, same tables but, it definitely had a positive upbeat atmosphere, it hasn't had in several years. We met the current owner who stopped by each table checking in and making sure patrons were satisfied. Our server was sharp, he knew the menu well, he knew what the ingredients were and he knew how things were prepared. We were a bit concerned when he took our orders because he didn't write anything down but, everything came out perfectly. He checked on us several times and made sure we had everything we needed. Our food was absolutely, spot on delicious.Sandwiches were large and filling and expertly prepared as though some little grandma was preparing them. The dinners were large and well seasoned, needing a box for leftovers. The pizza was the star of the show, thin, crispy crust with toppings edge to edge and flavor that was as robust as anything in Chicago. The sausage had that scrumptious fennel taste that distinguishes it from any other place in the country that, and the fact it's cut into squares. Having lived in Chicago over 20 years, it was an awesome experience when requesting the gahlick and the 'regano and it came out in shakers. That really seals the deal!! The only thing missing from this place compared to those in Chicago was the addition of ordering homemade creamy garlic salad dressing on the salad. All in all, this place is top notch, give it a try and tell Joe, Jack sent ya!!

I do have my go to's, but I am always looking for a new fave to add to my list. I even follow a FB group for Chicago pizza in Florida. Unfortunately, this is not it. Yes the thin crust is it and the square pieces yes, but the crust is a no bc there's no flavor. There's no sauce. Which even with adding sauce on the side it didn't do much for it. It's just a crunchy piece of dough with a lack of sauce and cheese and Hawaiian. So I will stick with my nearby fave which still crosses off the boxes and is made to perfection - Paul's Chicago Pizza in Clearwater for thin crust. I do see there are locations for Little Italian in Naperville IL, which I always frequented, but this for sure is not it right here. For some maybe, but not in my family. Still this is a nice location inside. Spacious, full of light, comfortable, and friendly service. Check them out and see what you think.

The menu claims the food is "made from scratch," but that was very hard to believe. The pizza sauce tasted like it came straight from a can, with absolutely no visible seasoning or flavor. It was bland and tasted processed. The chicken alfredo fettuccine also tasted artificial, nothing like a fresh or homemade alfredo sauce. It lacked the rich, creamy flavor you would expect from a scratch-made dish. What made the situation worse was the customer service. When I politely brought the issue to their attention and explained that the food did not taste fresh, they refused to take the food back or make it right. There was no attempt to resolve the issue or show any concern for the customer's experience. Unfortunately, between the poor food quality and lack of customer service, I would not recommend this restaurant. There are far too many places that value quality and their customers to spend money here.

While the NY-style crust was excellent, the sauce was a bit too sweet than I prefer, and they were quite frugal with the pepperoni, my only topping Maybe I caught them on an off night? No big deal for a bigger pie, actually. One thing I neglected to mention about the toppings on this thing...they are fresh! No canned mushrooms or soggy pepper chunks on this bad boy. Again, the veggies are plentiful and there's enough protein (sausage, pepperoni and mutz) to keep the flavor going. I know Westshore just up the street uses canned veggies on their pies...yet another valid reason to stay away from there. Now here's an interesting side note...I made the call to place the order. For a split second I thought I dialed the wrong number. A lady with a thick Asian accent answered and I had to slow down a bit to make sure I understood her and conveyed my own information properly. When I get there to pick up, indeed an Asian lady (Vietnamese, actually) was behind the counter running the place. I usually get the owner himself, but he wasn't anyplace in the small store. This time, meanwhile, their newest menu was plastered onto the pizza box. One of the oddities I noticed in the appetizer section of their menu is "Vietnamese Egg Rolls." I'd seen it previously but thought nothing of it. So putting two and two together I figured out that Mrs. Owner was in charge today! Now the egg roll app makes a lil more sense! So the big thing out of all this is what I'd said previously...I am glad to support these local "little guy" operations. I'm particularly proud to do so when I see a hard working couple running an operation like this rather than filling some third party's pocket. She was a very nice, polite lady, much as her husband is a well mannered man. Both are friendly and solicitous, and they know how to make a mean pie. I highly recommend them; I would just get it to go, because the shop itself wins no prize at all.
