Candidly, we had a slight miiss on the pickup order and didn't realize until we got home. The pizza was very good, just not specifically what we ordered. They more than made up for it. I've been a big fan since they opened. I've been here enough times now that they even know me by name. Not your typical NY-style pizza whatsoever, they offer "Ohio-style" pizza which is thin crust, bar-cut in squares, similar to nearby Charlie and Millie's. The sauce is definitely different and zesty, and all of their pizzas have plentiful cheese and toppings. I have never received anything less than excellent food from here. Their Hurricane Ron pizza is a masterpiece, sort of a supreme+ with added ham, bacon, green/black olives, and banana peppers. Only 4 stars for now because one time I called in a pickup order, arrived and they never made my pizza! OK, we all make mistakes, but I was not even told "We are really sorry" or was offered a drink or anything while I waited another 15 minutes inside for my pizza. Just "Here ya go! Bye..." Really? I used to get pizza here once a week. After that snub, I come less often. After months of buying here, I felt my business was not appreciated. 4.5 Stars... Just dropped an order with Gulfside Pizza & Subs for lunch, and I think I saw a beam of light shine down on that cheese pizza when I opened the box. No flop, nice crisp -- if Dave Portnoy took a bite, he'd probably shed a tear and mutter "one bite, everyone knows the rules" before devouring the whole thing. The strawberry cheesecake? Unexpectedly awesome. It's like dessert went on vacation and came back with a tan and better personality. Now, the Goodie bread... eh. Let's just say it's the cousin at the family reunion you politely wave at and then avoid eye contact. But the pizza? The pizza is your new best friend. Hot, fresh, and exactly what lunchtime dreams are made of. Will definitely be back (and maybe just skip the Goodie bread next time). read more

Gulfside is a great place to stop in to eat or to take food home (they deliver too). It a fresh clean establishment with comfortable inside or outside seating (sometimes live music) Located in a tiny strip mall, there is free parking. My favorite pizza is Hurricane Ron. It has a tasty pizza sauce, Italian sausage, pepperoni, ham, mushrooms, black olives, onions, green peppers, banana peppers, bacon, green olives, extra cheese and sprinkled with herbs & cheese. It is always fresh and delicious. We have it prepared well done when eating on-site. My guy's go-to is simply a create your own pepperoni and sausage (well done). It is the pie he'll order the first time anywhere as he says if they get that right he's happy. It's interesting to see there are four dessert pizzas available. Not hungry for pizza? There is a plethora of appetizers and salads. Actually, there is something for everyone: subs, burgers, pasta dinners, and kids meals. This establishment is very civic minded. This is classic Midwest pizza in the truest sense! There is a specific kind of thin crust pizza that comes from the Midwest. Chicago has deep dish, but Indiana and Illinois have cracker crunchy thin crust pizza. Happy to discover that Ohio can now also be added to the repertoire of this style of pizza. Was pleased to learn the staff is actually from Ohio and that Midwestern brand of customer service was stellar and in full force! As I new customer I politely asked for an explanation of why I couldn't order a pizza the way I wanted it- that is, a standard cheese pizza. Per the bizarre policies of this pizzeria if you order a "make your own" pizza you are required to pick at least one topping at an additional charge. When sincerely questioned about this, since I didn't want any toppings, the manager, instead of offering a calm explanation, created a confrontational atmosphere and then, in the presence of other customers, tried to buy me off by shoving $3 at me (almost, but not quite, the cost of a single topping). Turns out that if you really don't want a topping they will automatically give you "extra cheese" and charge extra anyway. If this is the way they want to operate fine, but I could do without the insult. Pizza itself is on the heavy side with a soft, relatively thick and bready crust that was soggy by the time I got it home (about 5 minutes away). Thick, gooey layer of cheese and hearty, good tasting sauce. If you like that type of pizza it's pretty good but should not be mistaken for NY or New Haven style. 3/5 for the pizza, 0/5 for attitude. read more

We ordered boneless wings and Gulfside goodie bread through Uber eats. The wings were rock hard and cold and the Goodie bread was like 2 day old bread .... hard, cold and old greasy taste. Had to throw it all away. I don't know what happened with this order but definitely won't be ordering from them again!! HORRIBLE!!! read more

Staff was friendly and pizza was okay but will try a different one next time. Had the Hurricane Ron (I think that's the name). A lot of toppings but crust wasn't crispy enough for me. The pizza sauce was extremely tangy that offset the flavors of the toppings. I would ask for less sauce and crispy crust with a simple sausage or Pepperoni meat to give it a fair test.
