My husband and I were very pleased with the work Vince's Landscaping did at our home. The workers were professional, friendly and very tidy (always cleaning up after their work each day). The finishing results are truly amazing, we replaced half of our yard with new sod, and the other half with tan bark around our childrens' play structure. They also did pruning and replaced our out-dated irrigation system-all in 3 days. We're so very thankful and will most definitely recommend their services to friends and family. read more

We are so happy with Vince's Landscaping. We have gone to Vince for years for many small jobs (new lawns, patio lighting, tree trimming). We were always very happy with the quality of the work done and the service provided. We recently decided to add a built-in BBQ and pondless waterfall to our backyard as well as some landscaping. We were extremely happy with the work done and were so glad we didn't go to someone else. Vince coordinated everythng that needed to be done and kept the project moving efficiently. We were happy with everything. Vince's team even cleaned up the part of our year that they didn't work on and left the entire yard in excellent condition. The team was very nice to work with. I would highly recommend Vince's Landscaping. read more

My neighbor used Vince's Landscape for a backyard project last year. They were very pleased with their work. So when I wanted to convert a small patch of grass (~175 sq ft) in my front yard to butterfly garden I called Vince's landscape to get a bid. Vince's son Steve came out to bid the job. Steve was easy to talk to with a pleasant demeanor. Overall, I got the impression that Steve is very knowledgeable, able to offer up insight on the project while incorporating many aspects of what I thought I wanted in the garden. I received the bid and butterfly garden designed in a very timely manner. The garden was designed by Alison Fleck and was exactly what I was looking for in the butterfly garden. More importantly, Steve was able to fit everything (and more) within the budget. When it came time to get started on the project, Vince's Landscape crew were on time and courteous, very professional and kept the grounds tidy while they were working and cleaned up thoroughly when the job was done. I'm pleased with the work they did! read more

I called Vince's because my old sprinkler timer broke and I couldn't figure out how to re-wire the new one I just bought. I called to see if they could send someone out today since I'm going on vacation tomorrow and need a working timer immediately. The person I spoke with on the phone (Vince perhaps) said he was fully booked today but explained to me very clearly how to wire the clock myself (far better than the instruction manual did). Presto! All fixed in no time. It's great when a company tries to solve your problem over the phone rather than just tell you they're booked and can't help you. Will definitely call Vince's again! read more

I had taken an afternoon off from work and set up an appointment with another landscaping company for a consultation. They were a last minute no show. I called Steven and as luck would have it he was in the area and able to come by the same day. Understanding that I was looking to do most of the work myself, Steven was able to answer all my questions and give some really solid advice on key things to consider with the design I had in mind. The consultation was efficient, complete, and fast. Given the scope of work he actually refused payment for his services. Should I need landscaping services in the future Steven will be the first person I call. He clearly knows his stuff and I was left with a strong impression that he builds business through great customer service, not nickel and diming. read more

Vince's Landscaping put in paths and retaining walls on our very steep front yard. We had a hard time finding someone to do the job. I am very happy with the final result and their crew's competence. I don't think it was an easy project and significant innovation was necessary to make it all come out right. I would strongly recommend Vince's Landscaping to anyone with a difficult yard project. read more

As always, Steve and his crew were wonderful to work with. This time we needed half a fence replaced and trellis removed. We won't use anyone else for our landscaping needs! Awesome work and great customer service! read more

What a disappointing experience i had with "Vince" himself. I had made an appointment for an estimate to have my backyard landscaped 2 weeks prior. We spent about 1/2 hour talking about the job, and he had no ideas or input. His main response was "What else?" After i had gone over everything, I asked him if he had any other ideas or input. He said "You'll have a yard." "Ill send you an estimate in a week." The week passed and i sent him a message with my email address, in case it was misplaced. The "professional" didnt have the courtesy to respond. So glad i didnt give him any of my money. What a chump! read more

I contacted Vince's Landscaping to install a new backyard at my home. My family just moved into a new house and the back yard, which includes a very large hill was completely undeveloped. We had worked with a landscape designer to develop a plan and I contacted Vince's Landscaping to implement the plan. The execution was flawless. We worked very closely with Steven on the plan. We tracked all the change orders and keep within our projected budget. The installation team was very considerate to our needs and schedule. Within two weeks our back yard went from a weed infested desert to a picturesque sanctuary. I was completely satisfied with the project. I highly recommend Vince's Landscaping. Ask for Steven, he is top notch. read more

Don't waste your time or money! Steve is a complete $&@!. I've never come across anybody as rude and unprofessional as he is!! I called to follow up on the status of our yard and as soon as I said my name, he completely lost it and yelled that he didn't have time to talk and hung up on me. read more

Steve was easy to work with and his team was courteous, considerate and professional. The pavers and landscaping they installed for us is quality work and was reasonably priced. They even finished way before the date they promised to accommodate an outdoor event we had planned. We wouldn't hesitate to hire them again highly recommend! read more

We have used Vince for several yards. He always does a great job, his guys are very professional and have completed the work on time. He is more expensive than mow-blow-and-go guys because he buys insurance, pays for a porta-john for long jobs, pays his guys by the book, etc. You get what you pay for... read more

I called Vince 's Landscaping because of the good reviews on yelp but it turned out that they are very unprofessional and have lousy customer service! Steve came to my house and sent me an estimate for the job. I replied back to his email asking if he can come and start the work. I received an email back from Eva stating that he was out for a week and she will make sure that he will return my phone call. After one week, I never heard from Steve, I called and left him a message on his cell phone and he never bothered to return my calls . I called the company again and spoke with Eva, she said that he is very busy and will return my call when he has time. I guess they don't need any more business! I don't know how good their work is but they are very unprofessional ! Watch out otherwise you will waste your time waiting for them! read more

Keep looking people. Steve showed up 2 hours early for his appointment and talked a good talk. When my other appointment showed up on time, I excused myself and went to speak with him while Steve took measurements. The next thing I knew, Steve abruptly left without getting what he needed to put together a bid. When I reached out to Steve via text to ask if he needed anything else, he acted as though I did something wrong. He said he could only give a ballpark bid so I offered to answer any remaining questions he may have had, but then he went dark and hasn't responded since. I'm glad I got to see this unprofessional behavior before I hired them or gave them a dime. There are tons of professional landscape contractors out there, clearly this company isn't one of them. I should have read the other Yelp reviews before wasting my time with this company. read more

We had Vince do the lawn in our backyard; he was the lowest price, and we were very happy that he kept things on schedule. When weeds popped up and killed the parts of the lawn, he came back and patched the lawn. Keep in mind, those weeds were our fault, as we had skimped on the water--Vince patched them for free. Not long after that, I think Vince passed things on to his son Steve. We had Vince's landscaping do our front yard, and it was even better. We live on a small private street, and many of the neighbors have been here for fifty years and think they own the entire block--they like to complain. Steve (Vince's son) did our front lawn, and handled cranky neighbors and tough customers (us) with aplomb. Then came the drought, and our front lawn went to the toilet. We contacted SEVERAL fake lawn folks, and despite some folks specializing in that, Vince's came in at the lowest bid. Seriously, I'm embarrassed that I didn't just go to Vince's at first. Vince did our front lawn (turf?), and pavers landscaping for side yard access, and it turned out great! Smash cut to 3 years later, and a portion of our fake lawn melted! It was in the shape of a triangle, and I'm almost sure it was a box or something else I put on the lawn, but when we asked Steve about it he offered to fix it. I assumed we'd have to pay (as it was obviously not his fault!). Steve took care of it! -Vince's Landscaping does great work the first time! -Vince's comes in at the lowest, or I'm sure at reasonable prices, for each bid! -Vince's (Steve) takes care of his repeat* customers! *Unless you're about to move to Canada, in this water-tight environment, you'll need to call a landscaper more than once--it should be Vince's!!!!! read more

I wanted to have my 80's front yard design updated to a more water-friendly one by primarily reducing the lawn area. In the project was also included fixing a drainage issue in the backyard and installing a moss rock wall as a planter box. I trusted Vince's Landscaping with the final design of the project, as I did not feel it necessary to doubt in the company's professional experience to put together what I was requesting. (Not to mention I am pretty clueless when it comes to landscaping.) I am very happy with their work, as well as I have had neighbors comment positively on the way the project turned out. In the grand scheme of things, it was probably a simple project, and I did not have extravagant requests, so I feel the entire process went as expected. I love driving up to my home now - it looks awesome! Thanks again, Vince! read more

Super pleased with these guys! Very friendly. Showed up when they said they would, texted when they were held up by traffic or other issues. Left the yard CLEAN, and did excellent work. Fair prices and very nice. Good listeners too. Everything you could ask for in a contractor. read more

I'm really glad we chose Steve at Vince's Landscaping for our backyard renovation. They did a fabulous job. We were considering a certain style of brick that Steve just installed in his own backyard and we was kind enough to welcome us to his home to check it out. Steve and his team rocked out our backyard in two days! We had a swing set installed recently and we needed to redo our backyard to make it safer for the kids to play. Steve came out and made time during his busy schedule to visit our home. He gave us an extremely fair quote and was able to squeeze us in a matter of a week and got the job done quickly. His crew was efficient, on time, and very polite and informative. Lastly, communication throughout was really easy with Steve. He's super responsive. I would recommend Vince's Landcaping in a heart beat. I'll definitely be working with them again in the future. read more

I was so impressed by Vince that I feel compelled to leave a nice note on Yelp, even though our backyard remodel project has been put on hold for the time being. When I was shopping around for estimates, Vince was the first to respond. He emailed me back immediately and followed it up with a phone call. He came to my house on a Saturday, listened to what I envisioned for the backyard remodel, and had perfectly captured it in his mind within 5 minutes. Within the next 48 hours, he got me a ballpark estimate of costs (which were competitive with my other estimates) and a timeframe to completion. I could tell he had a team ready to get the job done on time and in alignment with my vision. I'm so bummed that our project has been put on hold because I think they would've been fabulous to work with. read more

Vince's Landscaping did a wonderful job on our front and back yards! From the start when he gave us a competitive bid on our design from our landscaping designer, we knew that he knew what he was doing and made suggestions to improve the look and function and lower the costs. Working with Vince's Landscaping was a wonderful experience from the beginning of the design to the final installation of plants and lighting. The crews were very competent, always willing to adjust to the owner's needs and desires, and all of this was done in a timely fashion. The owner as well as the project manager were always available for questions or to address any concerns. The high quality of materials as well as the personal pride taken by all that worked on the yard proved that using Vince's Landscaping was the best decision. We worked with Vince's Landscaping for a recent backyard renovation project. There was a bit of uncertainty on our part in terms of what to do but Steven was very patient and helpful in providing recommendations and options. Our project included demolition, grading, fencing, irrigation, lighting, design and a custom build of an elevated planter. His crew couldn't have been more efficient or respectful. A very professional group of guys. We were so happy with the way the back yard was shaping up, mid-project we asked them to convert our front yard to a low water use rock garden. Steve and his team did a truly amazing job for our yard in the happy valley area of Lafayette. I had interviewed probably 5-6 landscape architects, etc and Steve was above and beyond the best choice. First off- he is just consistent, on time and takes pride in his work. Every time he has a meeting with me- he would send me his WAZE time of exact arrival and show up. Seems silly but honestly- sometimes getting people that work on your house to just show up every time they say they will is worth its weight in gold. He did an amazing design after taking my and my husbands somewhat vague ideas and put them into action. We had his team build a pergola as well that was done better with more attention to detail than I expected. The plant selections I let him kind of run with and they have since been growing in and looking gorgeous in the last 9 months. The hardscape patio still looks great and has settled in nicely. I actually leaned toward his pick on stone and I am glad I did. His crew always was the most respectful, hardworking and professional. We had several projects going on at once and at one time a lot of guys crawling all over and I always knew which ones were Steve's- respectful, cheerful, took pride in work/ didn't just rush to get done. All in all- if everyone could be as responsive with a clear eye for quality and design as steve- life would be easier! Highly recommend him on anyone's yard. He did a friend of mine as well and we always talk about how nice ours yards look when we visit. Our job was a large one- about 60k but worth it. Would hire him again in a heartbeat. read more

Vince gave me expert consulting on how I can stop erosion below my house from rain water coming off the patio. He had installed a system for diverting rainwater from my down spouts about 10 years earlier, which is still working fine. I offered him a fee, but he asked that I donate instead to the National Alliance on Mental Illness through a website, www.namicontracosta.org. His sense of humor makes him fun to hang out with. I might hire him to install the system he described to me, but I'm on furlough, being a Federal employee, so I have more time than money. read more

Made a Huge Difference We saw Vince's presentation at the Home & Garden Show and liked what we saw. We asked them to come and give us some ideas based on what we saw and their experience. They met with us to go over design ideas and then developed a plan that we reviewed and approved. Once they began the work they were very professional, keeping us informed through each stage of the project from demolition to concrete pouring, to the completion of the lawn and plants. We were very pleased with the outcome and they have kept in touch to be sure that we are pleased with the results. We would highly recommend this company. read more

Steve came out to review our proposed job and give us a quote. Before he left, He mentioned that he might be able to bust out a quote for us before the weekend not likely til early the following week. I was shopping around and chose someone for part of the job, but had a 3 days opt out. So I called Steve to see if he might be able to expedite his quote in case it was better then I could cancel within the other within the cancelation window. When I explained this to Steve, he got defensive and said how unfair I was being to him. I corrected him and said no I wanted to give you a chance to compete and that my other quote could be cancelled if his was better. His attitude was smug and just said sorry I'm just too busy for all this. I left unimpressed with his attitude and lack of professionalism. as a result I will never call or refer anyone to Vince's landscaping for any future job. read more

Vince's crew installed the landscape designed by Leigh Gronet (see review in Yelp) and did a very nice job. They also installed a couple sections of fence around the property. They were always on time and courteous, the same bunch every time since they are actual employees, kept the grounds tidy while they were working and cleaned up thoroughly when the job was done. Some small parts of the irrigation system aren't getting water, but I think I can figure that out myself. As part of the clean-up, they hauled away the leftover paving stone but when I pointed out that I'd paid for it and wanted it back, they kept it for me until they came back to finish some work I'd had to delay. My impression is that the office is somewhat disorganized, as some email to them went unnoticed and they kept trying to reach me at the wrong phone number, but when we did get in touch, Vince was friendly and helpful and we sorted things out to our mutual satisfaction. I'm pleased with the work they did and the plants are thriving. read more

We hired them to put in a sprinkler system and new sod in our backyard and sprinklers in the front yard. They came in with the cheapest bid which is why we hired them. They looked like they were doing a pretty good job until we caught a worker connecting two pieces of PVC sprinkler tubing together with duct tape! Apparently it was easier than properly joining the pipes with the correct fittings and glue. Luckily we caught it before the area was covered with our concrete patio. We also found that an inadequate drain had been put in the front yard. Our impression of the work done was that shortcuts were taken.I'm afraid you get what you pay for. read more

Recently we had side yard landscaping project done by Vince's Landscaping. The whole process was painless. Steve was very cool over the phone and was able to come out the following day to assess the scope of work. His price was competitive. He was straight up about his schedule (about a 3 week wait). They started within a couple of days from his estimated date. They were efficient, clean and helpful(they fixed the sprinkler settings for the entire yard, and thankfully so because I really had no clue). We could not be more thrilled with our new backyard!!! Vince's Landscaping was amazing to work with-- they communicated with me every step of the way, and had such attention to detail.
