The restaurant was lively but in a way only wine bars should be, not overly loud but still bustling (in a good way). We were ordered the Pâté Porc, Canard et Figue (served with Pickles), Escargots, Ratatouille (Provencal Vegetable Stew), and the Tartine Brie, along with a bottle of wine. The mustard with the pork and duck pâté was incredible and we loved how much Brie and honey came with that dish. Wonderful experience and I'd love to come here again! Let's start with the highlights. Vin Sur Vingt has excellent service and the ambiance is absolutely adorable. Low lit wine bar that has a romantic feel to it, great for date night. When we went, it was not crowded at all. All that said, I imagine on a night where it does get crowded it gets very loud. The tables are right against each other so this is just a heads up if you come with a group. They have decent wine deals and the food is cute/tasty but pricey. Expect to spend starting at $16 for a small bite (as you can see from the photos I posted with this review). It was delicious, but the portions are small for the amount of food you get. Overall, excellent and I would come back. They have many locations around the city and whoever is working can recommend different wines to you and will allow you to taste test wines before fully committing. read more

This is a small place with service that was a little slow for our liking but definitely yummy wine that everyone was satisfied with by the end of the night. There are so many amazing wine bars in This city and this is not one of them. We were greeted by a host that was friendly but bordered on ridiculing us as he mimicked our taking off sunglasses while walking and shaking your bum. My friend was greeted as "go México". Why? The menu is limited and very expensive. Bottle prices are inflated even by New York standards. The charcuterrrie plate at $60 was the most expensive we ve ever had and far from the best. As places around the city add fruits and nuts, dried fruit, spices, different presentations to their charcuterie board. Here was pretty straight forward and classic, the portions of 3 cheeses - Brie, hard cheese and a goat were quite small and the cheeses delicious but nothing exciting. Little gerkins were the best part. We couldn't get our water refilled, we didn't get any attention as the place filled up and there were only 2 servers, one of whom preferred flirting to doing his actual job. We paid over $40 for one glass and shared charcuterie and left to find some real food and more affordable drinks. Only one champagne on the menu at 30 per glass and $150 per bottle. With the summer coming. They better add more bubbles and more affordable options to the menu!!! read more

We went here for drinks on a work trip. While going over my receipts/statements afterwards, I noticed that this place charged an extra 52 cents on my final SIGNED bill (after tips). 52 cents is obviously not much, and would not raise any alarms (unless you had pictures of your receipt, like I did, as I was on a work trip). However, this highlights some sketchy practices (plus, 50 cents per table, for all tables, could add up), and I would recommend potential customers to stay away from such a dishonest business. read more

Stopped by the wine bar on the way to a friends birthday. They have happy hour from 4-7 pm everyday for $10 glasses of selected wines. I got the rosé and my friend got the white wine. This review is for the East Village location. We had recently had gone to the Nomad location and had a wonderful experience. Here in East Village it was great as well, we just did not explore as much of the menu as we had in Nomad. We walked in late on a Saturday night, and luckily got the only empty table, the place was busy inside and out. It was a small space, and coolly dark, with dark but soft woods, and distressed antiqued mirrors on the walls which I liked. We only had dessert: the tarte tatin, and the chocolate cake, both of which were ok. We had a nice bottle of Alsace pinot noir and a white which unfortunately I don't remember. Nice vibe, and server was fine, kept our bottles chilled till we were ready for more. To give a fairer shot would like to come back and try more of the menu. read more

Highly recommend! Came here tonight to celebrate a friends birthday with some casual drinks and apps. Kir royale was perfectly poured! Wine selection was excellent and our server gave great advice on which wines would be best suited for each of our tastes. Cheese and charcuterie board was a little heavy on the charcuterie ratio but everything was delicious. Ambiance was chill, service was excellent. I usually go here with my boyfriend and we LOVE the place. The bartender is so knowledgeable and you can tell that he's very passionate about the wines, etc. It's very inspiring and he's taught me a lot. What a great find!!! We are visiting NYC from Las Vegas and had a couple of hours before our dinner reservation. We luckily stumbled on this place. Me and my friend went to the one near flatiron one before, the food and wine and service was impeccable there. Today we saw a new location in east village and we were happy thinking it'd be as good as the other one. The wine was good as usual. BUT I can't give the same to the service, the French guy server(bartender) was SO NASTY... we walked in and asked for a table, he looked like literally someone owed him a million dollars, or his just got dumped by his gf or what. The whole vibe of misery came from him..... the way he poured the wine( made so much mess on the table) and the miserable tone he talked. We felt so Unwelcome, he clearly didn't want to be here either. I came here to enjoy my glass of wine, and paid for my wine and 20% tips for the crappy service that he provided. Whole 40min of he showed up at the very last min. I immediately asked for the check cuz I wanted to get the heck out of here. Be aware of that miserable dude there , absolutely not coming back to this location as long as the dude is there. read more
