Visited Villari's Tuesday Jan. 13 and sat at the bar and was immediately made to feel welcome by Tina a highly professional, quick and courteous bar tender, even though the bar was packed because of karaoke night, (highly entertaining). They have a nice little wine list of very good table wines for $30 a bottle, and my choice was a delicious pinot noir from Italy. I dined on their Texas tbone, which was perfectly cooked med. rare accompanied with perfectly al dente broccolini, and tasty mashed red potatoes. The house salad included was very fresh. This will be my go to Tuesday night dining and entertainment destination. Service is genuine, and bar crowd was very friendly. Had a great time. read more

My mom and I stopped here on a dark and chilly Tuesday night. It turns out Tuesday is their karaoke night, which was interesting to see. Very lively bunch. We were seated in their dining room, which fortunately had a door to enclose it, so it was nice and quiet. We would've had a view of the lake had it been light outside still. We ordered cokes and the fried mozzarella to start. The sticks were unimagined, as if they had taken them out of the freezer and placed into the oven (realistically, they likely did). For a nice Italian spot, I would've expected something that felt a little less Restaurant Depot and a little more...seasoned? Our pasta dishes came with complementary bread and a DELIGHTFUL garlicky olive oil dip. That was probably the highlight for me. I went ham on that olive oil (and suffered the consequences, let's just say many tums were consumed). I ordered the vodka sauce with cappellini, and my mom had penne alla vodka. Both were good, as well as large-sized portions. The pasta dishes also came with salads, which included your choice of dressing. On our way out, the host jokingly said, "So I'll see you next Tuesday for karaoke?" which cracked me up (I don't think she realized the phrase she said haha). To celebrate a late Mother's Day, my family and I decided to try Villari's after seeing them in the Clipper for so long. When we arrived, the restaurant was a bit empty but was servicing a sweet 16 party. There was no obvious signage on where to go, and no hostess to be found. Getting seated was disorganized but we eventually were sat outside as requested by the lakeside after asking the bartender for help (who didn't end up helping but waited with us until someone showed up.) The service was very slow and disorganized. Couldn't decide if they were just understaffed or missing key management that day. Thankfully, we wanted to enjoy each others time so we didn't mind but I could see myself getting impatient in any other occasion. Food arrival was very slow as well and the food was OK. I believe the sauce of mine was broken and I struggled with having butter splashing everywhere. They were kind enough to let me substitute the pasta for broccolini instead. The food wasn't memorable. The lake view is beautiful and feels like a tiny oasis from the otherwise suburban side road this restaurant is available on. Seems like there's a lot of opportunity here to become a better restaurant but they left a lot more to be deserved from a front of the house and service POV. read more

We had reservations which was not needed as we were the only people in the dining area when we sat down. The French onion soup was delicious! The pesto chicken pizza was also very good. I purchased a gift card off of the clipps magazine, we made reservations, which we didn't need the place was empty. We waited at the hostess stand for a good 8 minutes before anyone came up, then after we were seated the girl set up our table bread, water the whole nine, she was great! We sat with no one coming to our table for 15 minutes, we decided to leave & asked for a manager, we let her know we were just sitting & no one came over to us at all, they could've at least let us know they were short staffed or whatever the reason was. Just your average restaurant pretending to be Italian. Menu is too big and very odd. The moment you see "pot stickers and Italian Quesadilla" you know things will be rough. And the food lived up to that. Pasta over cooked, everything sitting in a pool of oil, no flavor, and all yours for ridiculously high costs. Of party was 5 people, $250, and no one enjoyed their meal. After seeing a coupon for Villari's on Clipps, I thought I'd try someplace new. It being Monday afternoon, after lunch hour and before dinner hour, I wasn't surprised it was nearly empty. My granddaughter and I first, shared the Eggplant Tower, which we both thought was delicious. I had the 8oz Black Angus burger which was good, but, I'm just not crazy about it being served on a brioche bun. My granddaughter had the Short Rib Pasta which she liked too. Two Fridays ago, we went to Villari's Lake Side for our office's holiday luncheon. It was my first time here, but I had heard very good things about the restaurant from coworkers and was really looking forward to going. Villari's has a lot of options on its lunch menu - small plates, pasta, sandwiches, salads, homemade soups, flatbreads, 1/2 lb burgers, an Ahi Tuna Burger, wraps, etc.. They also have a variety of appetizers and wings (traditional and boneless with different wing sauces like Thai Sweet Chili and Garlic Parmesan). This is what our table ordered and everyone was pleased with their entrée. - Roast Pork Italiano: Sautéed broccoli rabe and roasted red peppers with sharp provolone on Italian bread (default side is potato chips) - Hand-Carved Roast Beef: Italian roll with provolone cheese with the $3 fries upgrade. - Risotto Pescatore: Shrimp, scallops and jumbo lump crab-meat prepared with fresh plum tomatoes marinara or sautéed garlic and olive oil simmered in risotto. One of the standout things that I want to commend is how welcoming and attentive the people working there were to our group when we were there. The hostess was very friendly and walked us to the dining room and to a table, which had a pretty view of the lake behind the property. Our waitress was on point and offered menu suggestions. PLUS, she overheard that it was my coworker's birthday, so when she brought out our desserts, there was a lit birthday candle on my coworker's cake slice. So thoughtful! I would come back here again. Went here for Thanksgiving. They had Thanksgiving choices, and prime rib, filet, etc. The entrees were very good, but I felt that the rest was sub par. They served Turkey soup as the opener, which was tasty but really boring, and after dinner their dessert choices were so boring. All they had was pumpkin pie, apple pie, and chocolate cake. Please forgive the delay in this review, it does not reflect a lack of importance, just slowed by travel and hurricanes. On 9/18 I was in town and took my 84 year old Uncle out for his birthday and he always loved this restaurant, to the the degree that he had my late aunt's luncheon post funeral here. Clearly something has drastically changed since then as evidenced by the the affront to the patron's palate that they try to pass off as Italian food and as service. It was off to an auspicious start when my uncle asked the person filling the water a question about the soup and she shot back "you better just ask your server!"... It's a reasonable expectation since this place purports themselves to be a dining establishment (albeit not fine) that everyone who has contact with the patron would know what the soup is and not admit non-knowledge in such a hostile way. Then it continued with the drinks: the excuses were "Couldn't find it and couldn't operate the iced tea" ????? and "happy hour specials are only at the bar, you can walk over there and order." ??? Based on first, visual, impressions, not the kind of "joint" that I would've thought to have such an anti-table service choice. Ok, then... we'll stick with water and ended up having to flag down someone for water every single time we were empty (party of 4). Everyone was MIA. The dining room only had 3 other tables occupied in it so being busy wasn't a viable excuse. The salad was clearly out of a bag and was old as it was seriously wilted. The prime rib special that one of my guests ordered was way overdone, broccoli was mush, my Uncle stated he liked his short rib ragu but I could tell he was being courteous. My husband got pasta in a seafood cream sauce and he stated it was tasteless and pasta was way overcooked. I ordered the linguini with clams in a white sauce and it was effectively buttered noodles with some clams in it. Absolutely slop on a plate. Had to ask for the table to be cleared so there was room for our entrees, a bowl for the clam shells to which I was met with an annoyed and quizzical look. That was clearly the wind up..... as when I asked for cracked pepper, the server really looked aggrieved as well as confused, returning with a light-saber sized pepper mill, thrusting it at me saying "is this what you meant!?".... to which I was left to grind myself.... At that point, the whole table burst out into laughter as it reached a theatrical level of bad service. I love cracked pepper but there wasn't enough in the place to improve what looked like food in theory but not in actuality. I have ordered takeout to be "doordashed" to my Uncle throughout the years but that will never happen again. Even if the food was decent, the customer service was, without reservation, the worst we've every experienced (to boot, they seemed proud of themselves, zero apologies) and I say that with the basis of comparison being dining at all levels across the United States. We got the punch drink (over priced @$22) it was horrible to much cheap rum (was not Bicardi) The French onion soup was so over spiced it was horrible (cheese was good) and the mussels (overpriced and less amount of muses then other places) were over cooked and fishy tasting the white sauce was ehhh at best. The fries were cold over all we spent over $150 for basically nothing. My opinion, this was a one n done.. several hours later I still have a headache from the cheap rum. Deserves no stars - worse than poor. We had reservations for 5:45 pm but arrived 10 minutes earlier and was seated in a back room with no heat. There was only one other couple in the room. We immediately got bread & water but no waitress. 15 minutes passed by and still no waitress. Another couple entered the room and within a couple of minutes, a waitress appeared for them. When I asked her if we could order, she said it wasn't her table! No one else was in the room. We then walked out and told the hostess why we were leaving, all they said was sorry about that. Presentation was excellent and pricing was good with the local flavor certificate ($20 for $40 worth of food). Ambience was beautiful. We had dinner there last night with my parents and I really don't believe the negative reviews are justified. We were seated very quickly and had a nice view of the water. The service was very good and our server was very attentive. The menu is very full with many different items that would satisfy everyone's palate. I had the Salmon with Mango which was amazing, my daughter had the ravioli stuffed with Crab, my mother had a chicken dish and substituted the pasta with spinach ( not an issue) and my father had the shrimp cocktail and baked potato as his main course. Each, with the exception of the shrimp cocktail, came with either soup or salad. The house dressing was very good and I would recommend. The rolls came with a very tasty seasoned olive oil - yummy. For dessert, my daughter and I split a cannoli and my father had the cheesecake with chocolate fudge on top. Both were amazing. The only suggestions that I would have for the restaurant (and they are very minor) would be to get rid of the butter packets as well as the little plastic salad dressing holders - it's not the look for a fine, white tablecloth establishment. If requested, you can serve butter in a small plate and for the dressing, I would suggest small reusable ceramic or steel tins. Overall well worth trying out. read more

We had lunch at Villari Lake Side today and had a wonderful experience. First our waiter was attentive, pleasant and professional. The food was amazing I had the cheesesteak spring roll which was huge and delicious. I also had the crab cake sandwich, which was all lump crab meat, little filler and tasted like I was in Baltimore. Just after my husband and I parked the car, we struck up a quick conversation with two older gentlemen-each on a motorcycle. They said "We have to leave because no bike parking is allowed here." I suggested another place to them. As I thought about this, it bothered me. How can they have been discriminated against because they were on bikes? Businesses can't discriminate against gender, race, religion, etc. We then met our friends at a table outside on the deck and ordered drinks. It took quite some time to receive our order. My friend who orders pina colada's often said hers was not one of the better ones she's had. My dark and stormy drink was good but I did request double rum since a regular one it too entry level for me. The food we had was good bar food- long hots, calamari, and nachos. One other odd thing- the music would start loud and out of the blue and play for a couple of minutes, then stop. This happened about 5 times during our dining experience. Lastly, the menu stated that a 20% gratuity would be added to checks $50 or more. We usually tip at least 21% and we don't like when tips are automatically added to the bill. They came up with a great idea to add more space to the Tiki bar to stay relevant , but their service sucks ass . This is probably one of the worst places to eat in Sicklerville. My Girlfriend and I came here for the Summer Solstice to have a nice dinner outside on their patio. The patio did not disappoint. It was my first time here and my Girlfriend's second. We, surprisingly, had the patio to ourselves as everyone who was outside was at the tiki bar. There were also a decent amount of people inside at the bar or restaurant. The outdoor patio is pretty large and has plenty of room for groups. There is also a lower open grass area which boarders the water and has a gazebo. My Girlfriend ordered a salad with steak and I ordered the chicken Florentine. We both enjoyed our meals very much. We ordered an appetizer as well. I felt everything was well priced accept for my meal. It did not seem to be worth $22. It tasted good but was not overwhelming. We did come here with a $40 Groupon we paid $20 for so it did offset the cost. I would highly recommend coming here with one of their flyer specials or a Groupon your first time. Went to Villari's on Friday September 1 to eat with four of our friends. One of our friends made a reservation because we wanted to eat outside. The outside tiki bar doesn't take reservations and we didn't want to eat in the bar. My wife and I arrived a few minutes late,everyone else was already there. We joined them and started looking at the menu. I was not in the mood for Italian or fish dishes I just wanted some bar food. The waiter came over and we started to order, I asked him if I could just get some bar food he said he would have to check. He came back in a few minutes and said the boss said no, what would you like and I said NOTHING, which surprised him. My wife said you are stubborn,to which I agree. The inside bar was 50 feet away and I could have gotten food there but I would have had to eat it inside. I should have eaten off the children's menu because the kids at the table next to us had sliders and cheese steaks. What kind of place does the boss think he has, some very high end restaurant with waiters in tuxedos and cloth napkins, NO. Quite the opposite. We go there about 3 -4 times a year for dinner inside but NEVER AGAIN. He has lost 6 customers for dinner . Not only dinner but we had 2 events there in the banquet room,worth thousands of dollars. Villari's Lake Side Is a bar restaurant, that is adjacent to what appears to be a man made lake. My dining partner and I went for lunch on a weekend, and sat by the window near the lake. Well we didn't have the opportunity to sit outside, due to the weather, if you have the opportunity it would be worthwhile as it looks like a very nice outdoor seating area. They convert the outside into a tiki bar type area, and also do weddings and banquets at this location. The menu is fairly extensive and has a lot of fairly traditional American and Italian fair including pasta, sandwiches, and other hot platters. The service was very good, and we had no complaints. Overall this is a fairly sizable location, and it appears to be very popular with the locals, especially for the outdoor ambiance. I would highly recommend a visit on an evening where you can sit outside! read more

I want to share a terrible service experience I had at a local venue, Villari's Lakeside Restaurant & Lounge This is not something I typically do, as my digital footprint reflects; however, the absolute entitlement and repeated rudeness of the staff and management at this business has left me reeling. TLDR: Villari's Lakeside Restaurant & Bar GM confirms, "It is the policy of TIKI Bar @ Villari's management to encourage its staff to confront customers over a tip they are not satisfied with?" ............................ If you like poor service gaslighting and verbal abuse, then this is the place for you. I have had mixed experiences at Villari's Lakeside over the years, but a recent visit takes the cake in terms of poor service and management. I won't belabor the details of the poor service, but I will give a high level. Long wait to be acknowledged by bar staff, while other customers who entered after us were acknowledged and had their drink orders taken. Another customer took pity and offered to share their food with us while we waited. So, long wait to receive drinks, one was a bottle and one a mixed drink. Partner requested a cherry garnish for her drink. Bartender huffs and grabs a bare handful of cherries before plopping them and his fingers into her drink. At one point, a second bartender stepped in to take our food order. We were still waiting for the mixed drink at this point. Second bartender requests method of payment, and I provide my card to open a tab. We complete our food and drink and decide not to stay for a second drink, not that anyone had offered. It was NOT a busy night. It was 9pm on a Friday, and there were vacant seats at the bar with 2 bartenders on one bar. Nothing exceptional up to this point, just not so great service. We wave down a bartender and request the bill. I get up to go smoke a cigarette. My partner calls to confirm I have cash for a tip. She signs the credit card slip and leaves a line throught the tip field. Bartender #1 comes over to retrieve the credit card slip and exclaims, "Nothing? Really!? You know we don't do this for free." My partner joins me in the smoking area and fills me in on what happened. I return to the bar, cash in hand, still planning on leaving a tip for the other front of house staff working that night, in particular the second bartender who was very helpful. I ask to speak with the manager. She is there. Bartender #1 is there. Bartender begins by doubling down on his right to confront a customer regarding tip. Then, he quickly flips the story to, "Well, she isn't authorized to sign for you card." This is not true. They have no way of knowing that and are operating on a mistaken assumption in an effort to gaslight me. The manager backs up the bartender. They continue to yell at me that my partner should not have signed for my card and that is the point, while I shout back that is NOT the point. The point is that it was innappropriate for the bartender to confront my partner over the tip before I had a chance to provide the tip. I revisited the restaurant this week to speak with the general manager to try to sort this out. I have worked in various service roles, and I have never been encouraged to confront customers over a tip. I also felt bad about the rest of thr FOH staff potentially getting shorter on tips for the night because Bartender #1 is a unprofessional and inappropriate. Surprise. The general manager happens to be the same manager I spoke with on the night in question. GM doubled down on her stance that I was in the wrong for allowing my partner to sign for my card. She asked me if I would want a complete stranger leaving a $50 tip on my card. . . . ‍ I don't know what this imaginary scenario has to do with any of this. 1) Villari's staff response wasn't, "Excuse me, are authorized to sign for this card?" 2) Villari's staff response was, "Nothing? Really!? You know we don't do this for free." 3) Villari's staff is not privy to who is/is not authorized to sign my card. Therefore not in a position to assert anyone is/is not authorized to sign for MY CARD Villari staff did not consider authorization until after staff already confronted my partner over the tip on the credit card receipt. Villari staff did not consider authorization until I returned to talk to the manager about her staff confronting my partner over the tip on the credit card receipt. I asked the manager when the owner would be in the restaurant. She responded repeatedly that he was on vacation and refused to tell me when he would be back. She then threatened to call the police on me for stating that, "he's on vacation" is not an answer to "When will he be back? Ultimately, I asked the general manager to confirm this statement, which she enthusiastically did. "It is the policy of Villari's management to encourage its staff to confront customers over a tip they are not satisfied with?" read more

Wife and I went out for an early dinner... early enough to where we were the only ones in the dining room, and our waiter was a bit over-attentive. No worries. The room was visually pleasing, spacious and well laid out; not crampy or congested as some other eateries Our martinis were $10 and $12 each so we each enjoyed just one. We skipped the appetizers. She ordered the Pan seared Ahi tuna, and I had the Risotto Pescatore. Both dishes were served up fresh, hot, and in a timely manner, and were of a considerable portion size. In fact, wifey had to box about 1//2 to take with. Quite delicious. We finished the remainder of our libations while enjoying the view of the lake we had from our table. We skipped dessert. All in (mandatory 20% gratuity included) the check came to $108. Local Flavor Certificate reduced that by $40. Be advised that Local Flavor Certificates are valid only in the dining areas and not accepted at the bar.
