I went here with two other family members. We ordered the Stuffed Peppers, a Philly cheese steak with fried peppers, onions and mushrooms with onion rings and a Ruben on rye with onion rings. We ordered it to go. It all came in a bag in three round spaghetti aluminum containers with plastic lids. I ordered the cheese steak with a non-toasted roll. I received no roll at all just a pile steak with cheese all stuck to the bottom with the onion rings all having a foul stench to it. I couldn't eat it. It would have made me sick. The stuffed peppers also had a foul stench and were inedible. The Rubin made by brother sick for two days and he only ate half of it till he started to get sick from it. Absolutely on of the foulest, most disgusting meals I've ever had the displeasure to be associated with. Avoid this place like the plague. I've eaten here before and it was always OK. This time was terrible. This was served in the afternoon of 3/6/26 at approximately 3:30 pm. so I generally go to this restaurant on my lunch break and normally services is great. But I've noticed a running issue. when I go for pick up sometime, I'm asked if I'd like to leave a tip on the card. It depends on the day and service if I leave a tip. Personally, I don't feel like it should be an obligation to tip someone who is not a waiter like that providing a service. Today I went and picked up and the girl was pleasant until I said thank you when she asked if I'd like to put a tip. When taking my card, she didn't say anything, but "mm" and rang me out. The food is usually very good, service is knowledgeable with a smile, I never had a problem before. I've been a customer for years & will never return due to the owner disrespecting us horribly. Ordered the chef specials cowboy steak, medium rare prime rib & Tuscany seafood. The prime rib was physically burnt to a crisp, it was black charred. Being optimistic, cut into it. Well, It was dry & over done, not edible. Sent it back, The waitress responded with a message from the kitchen "it was all cooked medium to well done". Very confused requested the owner. He comes out angry with raw meat on a plate & asks "is this what you want?" My boyfriend didn't hear that, he was stunned at the raw meat in his face. Well he said yes & medium rare. At that point I was ready to leave. It did come out perfectly. The bill arrived, No apologies, no discount, just an owner loosing good customers from many years. Two favorites we order, pickup at side window drive up and or park and walk inside pickup area. We order the pepperoni pizza, we'll done crust- yummy! The other is Pegasus special salad, oh my is this delicious! We order the dinner size which will be our lunch for 2 days. But I do ask for extra chicken- soooo good! The folks who work the pickup area are great, friendly. We have also enjoyed having breakfast at the restaurant, quick service and delicious omelettes, yummy home fries and bacon or sausage. For lunch with a friend, cup of homemade soup and half a sandwich! Perfect! If I am really hungry, I'll order the Rueben open face sandwich. Amazing! Ordered a large Greek salad to go. Salad was so throughly washed, but not dried and was so wet and gross and impossible to eat. Also, many pieces were already brown and pieces were so large they're imposs to eat. Extra feta? I don't think so. Only two blocks on my large salad. That was the only thing edible, besides the 3 olives in that large tray. I'll drive to Olympia Restaurant from now on. Total cost was almist $30 for a salad, extra dressing, feta and its unedible. We have been coming to the Pegasus for over thirty years - almost since it first opened. I will never go back. The quality of food has been on the decline for some time; however, today was the last straw. We've been going there as a habit - it isn't Michelin star, but it used to be fine for what it was: a simple, South Jersey diner, part of a proud NJ tradition. I will provide you with the sanitized version. Louie Isihos, the owner, was unpardonably rude. I simply asked for the WiFi password. Long story short, the "open" WiFi wasn't working (contrary to his insistence); he insisted there were directions on the door (there were none, as confirmed by the hostess and the waitress); then, when it was pointed out that it wasn't working he just laughed and said, "It's down." Refused to give password to other WiFi. I know it isn't an Internet cafe, but had called on the phone earlier to make sure they had WiFi and it was working. They assured me, "Oh yes, no problem." Food was adequate, but not great enough to keep making the trip. Please note: I tipped the waitress. I'm not a hero, but sometimes people take it out on the staff. Nothing was her fault. She seemed like a nice, professional person, as was the hostess. Like most people, I work hard for my money. It isn't too much to ask for the owner of an establishment to treat his/her patrons with a modicum of respect. I've always liked the Pegasus. When I was in high school, the Pegasus was a regular haunt for my mother and I. Unfortunately, it's quite a long drive from where I live now, so I rarely go. The Pegasus has three dining rooms. The first is very diner-esque, but the other two are regular dining rooms of which the last is the most attractive. The menu is an assortment of American, Italian and Greek-American food. I have always loved their chicken dishes because they're saucy and moist, which is my preference. As the previous reviewer mentioned, the menu is daunting because there's SO many choices. Although the food isn't knock your socks off, despite their massive menu, everything is well prepared. It's a good place for families because everyone will find something that appeals. The Pegasus certainly isn't a restaurant I would encourage out-of-towners to seek out, but for those of us that live in the area, it's a reliable standby for decent food. read more

The time it took for service to acknowledge my family was pretty bad. We watched 2 dinner rushes come and go before we were finished our meal. The waitress was hands down the rudest server I've experienced in my 40 years. I don't write these often so take this for what it is. She gave me and my family at least 3 of the dirtiest looks I've ever seen and when she realize I wasn't happy with how she was behaving she started with apologizing about how busy it was. I will never come here again. The food is tasty but it's not worth this extremely rude experience. Not to mention the place is outdated and every time the people in the booth behind me moved at all my daughter and I looked at each other because the whole back of the booth moved. I have always loved my meals at Pegasus Restaurant. However, even taking into consideration that it's Labor Day today, the service was absolutely horrible. I understand you have a few new staff, but, have they been trained? I believe the answer to that question would be no. There were five of us for breakfast and every single one of us received our order and it was wrong or parts of it were missing. The food had to be sent back to the kitchen multiple times. I have never seen a restaurant think it's OK...to serve pitch-black toast. I ordered chocolate milk and it looked as if someone waved some chocolate syrup across the top of the glass and never poured any in it. Our omelettes were cold and we had to wait a long time for food especially since the kitchen staff was looking for cheddar cheese. and finally after ten minutes the waitress decided to tell me that there wasn't any. In addition to our problems, the two top table next to us left after 20 minutes of just being served a glass of water! Leslie our bill was wrong as well and to be redone! I am willing to Come back again in hopes that all will be well because I do like your restaurant. However, should I come back and have an experience like today you can rest assured we will not be back again!! Sadly, we will also tell the others not come either. So sad. This restaurant has a pretty hard to pass bargain for lunch. Last week I bought a sandwich and fried mac and cheese bites. The meatball parm was really good and the mac and cheese bites were excellent. What I didn't realize last week until after I placed my order was that they had a lunch buffet inside for less than what I bought. So I came back this week for lunch. Sausage scallopine, roasted turkey, herbed chicken, mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, mac and cheese bites, soup, salad, and desserts. The buffet menu changes every day. Recently, they just bumped up their prices again. I find this to be ridiculous beings they were already slightly pricey to begin with for being a hometown restaurant/diner. I refuse to pay $13 for a turkey club and fries, so unfortunately I will be taking my business elsewhere. The ingredients they use to make their food are the same ingredients and sourced from the same places that ALL the decent restaurants/diners use in this area so it's definitely nothing special to have to increase prices by $1 or more on every dish.
