Fried dough. Warm, gooey and delicious. You can add cinnamon sugar as well.

Just had the chicken and broccoli. Very large portion, honestly enough for two people. Came with a side salad which was nice sized. Also with a piece of garlic bread. Bread was ok with butter was not quite melted. Also ordered the fried dough. Not quite like a zeppole. More like a round fried dough with lots of powdered sugar.

If A-OK means a nice average place, Village Pizza is A-OK. It's on Route 75 by the airport next to Izumi Sushi. But as gaudy looking as Izumi is, Village is unassuming. Kind of spartan, actually - with a few plain looking tables and chairs and counter seats. I had lunch today, and Village wasn't too crowded. They have a very large menu 21 pizza varieties, calzones, appetizers, grinders, wraps, sandwiches, club sandwiches, pitas, wings, omelettes, salads, fried entrees, Italian entrees, and desserts, It's really a mini diner. My half sized Italian grinder ($6.95) was perfect -piping hot all the way through, with a nice balance of meat to lettuce to tomato to onion ratio. And the bread was perfectly toasted too. It was served on a real plate instead of the usual plastic wicker basket. Service was A-OK, no complaints at all.

This place is right across the street from my layover hotel. The people were really very nice. I ordered the honey barbecue wings and side salad. The salad was the freshest I've ever had. I added feta cheese. So delish. The honey barbecue wings are amazing. So much flavor

Perhaps their other food is better than what I ordered, which was a combination grinder, but I have to say compared to others that I've had in the area, this seemed more like a 7-Eleven convenience store hoagie with its limited amounts of meat and cheese. The other thing that I'll mention )just because it seems to be a theme at every restaurant that I've been to around 8 PM in this town), everybody seems to be far more concerned about walking out the door two minutes before they're supposed to close is the impression they leave on guests now walk in 20 or 30 minutes before closing time. This will be the third time I've been to some quick family dining establishment in the area that I've had this experience-- I'm gonna offer management the same advice that I've offered to other establishments nearby: If there is a time of day that you want to leave work, you should close your business in whatever time it takes for you to clean in order to make that happen as opposed to risking guest walking in and being made to feel as if their inconveniencing everybody who works there for making the decision to go to your establishment to spend our money.

On April 11, I rushed my family off the plane in order to get to these guys to grab a quick-but-tasty dinner before embarking on the remaining two hours of our long day of travel back to Westport. We arrived at 7:30 PM, 30 minutes before closing. Unfortunately, rather than having great pizza, great fried chicken, and an amazing grinder, we were instead served what felt more like the food that comes off of a gas station countertop diner than it did a restaurant that has WOW'd me in the past with they're fantastic food and friendly service. The greeting we received when we walked in; even though it was 30 minutes before closing, was less than enthusiastic to see us... it was clear right off the bat that everybody behind the counter was far more concerned about having their key in the front door at 7:59 then they were delivering great food and service. The grinder was OK. The fried chicken was pliable, but a couple of the pieces we ordered were dried out and shriveled up from sitting too long. The slices of pizza that we ordered, the guy didn't even bother, warming them up. Just pulled them out of the pizza slice case and threw them into a box... either that or if he did attempt to warm them up, they must've already turned the ovens off, and they threw it into a cold oven. A word of advice for the management of this restaurant, if you want to be out the door by 8 PM, close your restaurant at 7 PM so nobody comes in and bothers you all while you're trying to clean. To be fair, if you're thinking about this restaurant as a great stop for lunch, I would still recommend it as the food is ordinarily pretty good (and fresh at that time ) I've eaten here several times and I've never been disappointed.

The staff is friendly (and patient too). We'd never eaten here before, so it took us a few minutes to try to make up our minds what to order. I ordered the "Italian" grinder (Half grinder) with everything (except mayonnaise) heated a little, and I had them add sliced pickle. Pickles cost extra, not sure why. This amazing delicious Italian grinder is literally the best Italian grinder I've ever had from any deli or restaurant! It was at least 4 inches tall, filled with lots of ham, Capicola, and Genoa, shaved lettuce, cheese, pickles, tomato, onions, peppers, and I had them add a little EVOO. I ate the whole thing (which actually was too much for me to eat at one meal, I would have been full with 1/4 of a grinder, instead of the 1/2 grinder, and I didn't eat any side dishes.) It was that amazing, I ate until I was very stuffed. My husband said his (Half) Pepperoni grinder was not nearly as good. It had pepperoni slices and cheese, that's it. He asked for lettuce, but they either didn't hear him ask for lettuce or forgot to put it on. He got it heated. I suggested that he get some sauce or something on it, but he didn't. He said next time, he'll definitely order something different. The grinders are a bit pricey (mine was $13.99 plus 75 cents for pickles, plus tax), so about $15.00 total for a half grinder; however, keep in mind the name of the restaurant, H&M Pizza & GIANT Grinders, and they live up to that name, and they are well worth the cost! I don't know whether or not they will let you order just a quarter of a grinder or not. If not, you can always save the other half for another meal. I want to try a different type of grinder the next time we eat here, and I sure hope that all the others are as terrific as the "Italian". We live 45 minutes away, but it's well worth the drive.

I ordered a 1/2 Reuben sub, 10 wings, and an order of fries--total came to $34+ before tip (I tipped 20%). Waited over 45 minutes, which was already frustrating. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for it. The wings were overcooked--dry, tough, and lacked flavor. The Reuben was even more disappointing. The corned beef tasted bland and processed, almost like it had been frozen for too long and reheated. There was an overwhelming amount of meat but barely any sauerkraut or Swiss cheese, making the sandwich very unbalanced and not enjoyable. I grew up working in my family's restaurant, and one thing my dad always emphasized: it takes a long time to earn a customer, but only a second to lose one. I hope you take this feedback seriously and improve.
