Our server, Angie, was very personable and attentive. The have a fairly good selection of beers, that makes for a good meal. Their menu is extensive so there was a nice selection to choose from for our party of 6. I don't remember what everyone ordered, but my wife had the Fish sandwich and I had the Philly Cheesesteak - both were excellent. Ross enjoyed his Fish sandwich as well. This is a very nice, small town pub with a welcoming vibe. Since they have only been open for about 2 years the place still has that "new" appearance. they offer outside dining but the dining area is quite nice. In the back room they have a pool table and I think Iremember a service bar as well. We have been coming to Bedford for 24 years and this is a great addition to the restaurant offerings, especially when you only need a cold beer and a great sandwich. What a strange way to greet guests. Soon our server Kelsey arrived to take our drink orders. Once she brought our drinks we had time to look over the menu and make our choices. However, I'm terrible about keeping secrets. Plus, especially in this challenging business climate, local shops need all the support they can get. If you are a beer lover who enjoys rare and aged bottles of hard to find or out of production beers, this unassuming spot has a remarkable and delightful selection of brews I never expected to stumble upon in a tiny Pennsylvania town. Part of me wanted to buy everything and find a way to schlep it all back to Michigan. Instead, I chose to just get what I could enjoy on this trip, and save the other bottles for those fortunate souls who might learn of the treasures that await inside. I got: The latest vintage (2020) Bourbon County Barrel Stout, but the Kentucky Fog variant which I had never seen before. It was the best BCBS I've had to date. A large format bottle of Goose Island Halia from 2016 which was simply delightful! It was drinking perfectly, and I was tempted to go back and see if they had any more. A large format bottle of Goose Island Lolita from 2016, which was also drinking well, and was a pure pleasure with the integrity of the raspberries holding up to the years. A New Belgium La Folie from 2017, which I had the chance to try back in 2017, so it was super fun to taste a funkier version of it with more years in the bottle. The Smuttlabs Brett & I may not have held up quite so well since its 2016 bottling. Most of the carbonation had dissipated. That said, its brightness was the perfect pairing for some charcuterie back at the family farm. Similarly the Wild Devil Brett IPA from Victory Brewing, aged in red wine barrels, didn't quite hold up as well to the years. However, it was still fun to drink. But I didn't even scratch the surface. I asked the bartender if I could take a snapshot of the beer list to show my friends in case they wanted additional bottles. She said yes. And since I consider so many folks in the Yelp Community to be my friends, here it is. Hopefully I can make it back to Bedford in December. All I ask is that you leave me a couple of bottles so I can try some more rare and old beers without having to stand in line with the bearded masses of craft beer chasers. The weird gray market of beer trading is just not my scene.

Smileys Bar!!!! Must Read!…read more Neither I or any member of my family will ever eat there again!!!! I come home from Baltimore once a month and my family and I always go to Smileys for wings. My check alone with tip every single time is about $100. Anyone that ever knew me or my family being we have all worked in restaurants and owned a restaurant we are always very polite and tip well. Tonight 4 of us went for wings and drinks. We ordered the Buffalo log appetizer which we have had before and it's always been good. Tonight they were so over cooked you couldn't eat them. The chicken inside was dry. No sauce. Not edible. The 4 of us each tried the same log and all agreed horrible. We left the other 4 logs on the plate. I told the waitress the issue and she said ok. At the end of the dinner we asked for our checks. When she brought mine it still had the logs on for $8. I asked her to please remove them from the check. The manager came out and asked what was wrong and we told her and she was being very nice. As she went to turn around the owner followed her out behind her and very loudly started yelling with are these the people that complain all the time and constantly have something wrong!?!? (To be clear for years we have never sent anything back here nor asked to have anything removed from a check). The manager was trying to tell him no, but he came around her and in the middle of the dining room started screaming and yelling at us telling us that we are a problem and there is always a problem with us. And he's telling us we need to find a new place to eat we are no longer welcome in his bar. So we began yelling back that that's fine don't worry we won't be back. And he kept yelling at us in the middle of the dining room yelling for us to keep it up cause he knows people and he will have us thrown out pointing at the table behind us. At this point I was irritated and firing back at him until he finally left. Then his son comes out and tells us the problem is we ordered the food and whether it's good or bad or we ate it or not we needed to pay for it. I said really that's some great customer service. He said it is that's why we are so busy and we don't need you here. So then I explained to him several times I've brought groups of my family here and we're always told we can't put tables together yet friends of his behind us have a table of 15 put together. And again the kid says yep that's the rules and those are friends of ours. We needed to pay the check and leave. So I can 100% say not one of us will ever buy another thing from that place and I will gladly tell anyone about this experience.

This is the place where everyone knows everyone. It's friendly and the staff knows you by name and knows your order before you even sit down. The food: Admittedly, they have a relatively small menu, however they picked one menu item and mastered it: Burgers. On the menu they have the Wooly Burger (highly recommended!), the Hot Scottsman, Hobby Horse, the Irishman, as well as featured special burgers like the sundowner and Guinness burger. They also have fries, loaded fries, homemade potato chips, and tacos. Truly you can't go wrong with a burger and order of homemade chips. Wooly's won best burger award for a reason!! Wooly's also has ample seating in the back for patrons who prefer to sit at a table as well as a billiards table.
